  1. I won't even attempt to argue the Tebow comment because it is dead on, but you shouldn't dismiss the Denver defense. The Pacheatriots* do have a lot on the line with this game though. A win gives them the #1 seed and home field throughout the playoffs. With their defense that is a BIG deal. I will definately be watching the game this weekend, it is the last time I get to see the Bills play for over 9 months! Don't forget that we won't even have a full season next year with the end of the world coming in December and all! You don't want to be that guy who thinks to himself, "I can't believe I didn't watch any Bills game while I still could!"
  2. Just curious: where do you seen anywhere that Stevie has asked for top 5 WR money? Stevie made a comment, I believe on Twitter, a cpl weeks ago saying he was looking for a little under $9 mil/yr. top 5 WRs are in that $15 mil plus range. A little under $9 mil/yr puts him in the middle of the pack of the 2nd tier of WRs which is probably where he belongs. Stevie ranks in the top 10 or top 20 of almost any category of stats that are used to measure WRs. I will definately be unhappy if they let Stevie test free agency because he will get paid that kind of money or more and I'm just so sick of watching the Bills lose players after their rookie contracts are up and having another hole to fill! It is not as though the Bills are up against the wall with Cap issues! Building primarily through the draft requires you to re-sign your good players when their rookie contracts are up!
  3. Are you high? Williams has almost no body fat at all. Do you even watch the games? Continue spewing any misinformation you feel like, nothing new to this board lately. "Fat Boy Williams",he just let himself go I guess!
  4. Well Nix did say he had nothing to do about the decision about trading Evans and that came from Overdorff. That seems to me to be blatant bean counting making personel decisions.
  5. I'm hoping for the best from Whaley also but the Bills track record for former Steeler personel is not the best. Donahoe and Modrack from their front office and Mularkey from their coaches. That being said I hope Whaley doesn't decide to jump ship because he realizes he will always be operating with his hands tied behind his back!
  6. If at all possible you do not give away anything more than you have to with respect to players injuries. Why point out points of weakness for your players? I have to chuckle when i hear Bellicheat describe some of his players injuries or for that matter how Ruff will only say upper/lower body injury or concern etc. when talking about Sabre injuries. As far a Stevie goes I really hope he stays a Bill and we use draft picks and FA moves torward other positional needs, especially OLB and line depth.
  7. I have not read anyone saying that Stevie should be paid as an elite WR. I have read a lot of people say that he deserves to be in that 2nd tier of WRs that get the 8-10 million per year. Even if that is overpaying a bit it does prevent putting another hole in the offense to fill especially when we already have so many holes. We need to add depth to ALL of our positions and not ponying up for SJ just doesn't make sense to me. It's not like our back is up against the wall with cap room.
  8. Their haircuts are awful too!
  9. Because he deserves it, it also makes a statement to our players, future free agents and Bills fans that this franchise takes care of it's people. Actually teams have been able to run against the Jets this year, especially on the outside. This could prove to be a good match up for Spiller. If they stack 8 up close against the run then look for big game by Chandler and Nelson in the flats. Orrrrrrr we just try to run it up between the guards all day like the last game against the Jets and we get burried again!
  10. The Bills have a horrible record with 1st round draft picks, the sole exception being Eric Wood. Could you imagine with all the later round picks and undrafted FAs we've made a great call on, what this team could be like if we coud hit on even a couple of our day 1 picks from time to time? Poor drafting on rounds 1-3 = no depth, far less impact!
  11. The Cowboys were playing against the pass for the majority of those yards. While I believe that if the Bills were the ones who jumped ahead 14-0 Fred would have had a field day running up the middle, but the vast majority of plays the Bills ran were passes because they were desperately trying to dig themselves out of an ever widening hole. The Bills did have some early success with running up the middle but I would like to see a lot more sweeps and outside runs, especially against a team like the Jets, who I think is vulnerable to the outside, not the inside like we tried to run on them all day long 2 weeks ago!
  12. Why would we hold him to a franchise QB standard when he isn't even close to being paid franchise QB money? His contract will pay him about $30 mil over the next 3 years or an average of bout $10 mil/season. Even if you take the $24 mil guaranteed and average it over the next 2 years he is only averaging $12 mil/season. That is middle of the pack money for QBs. Vick was going to get $19 mil this year with the franchise tag, that is almost 60% more than Fitz will be getting! I think you don't have a clear understanding what players are being paid in the NFL in relation to each other. All you're hearing is $60 mil and you automatically think franchise because it sounds like a lot of money, but it isn't. Do a little research and start comparing Fitz to other players making the same money and see where his performance ranks in relation to pay.
  13. Unless it was a wild card game vs Houston! Winning alone does not guaranttee sell outs.
  14. Thay've scheduled a Super Bowl in New Jersey which is not a domed stadium, why not Buffalo? I ask that sarcasticlly of course!
  15. Exactly! This strategy always works well for Buffalo teams. It was proven to be a sound strategy when the Sabre's used this idea when negotiating with Drury and Briere. Get Fitz and Stevie signed ASAP, then extend Fred with a little bonus money to show appreciation to an excellent running back! Please dont't F@$& this up OBD!
  16. Willis McHateBuffalo yes, but McLazy that guy NEVER was. Just saying you were way off that's all.
  17. You're lumping the 2003 and 2008 seasons together. We beat the Pats* in the 2003 opener 31-0 and started that year our 2-0 but lost in Miami on Sunday night football 13-23. We then lost the following week to Philadelphia. We went into the bye week with a 4-4 record. We then finished off that clusterfudge of a season with a 2-6 2nd half record, finishing the season with a 6-12 record. A couple of interesting stats from that year: -Our offense led by Kevin Gilbride averaged 15.2 points/game, 30th in the league. -Our defense led by Jerry Gray gave up 17.4 points/game, 5th in the league. -Our takeaway/giveaway differential was -16, 31st in the league. Our coach was Greg Williams not Jauron, he coached the 2008 team which did start out 4-1. All that being said, it may be a bit early to be talking about playoffs but the Bills have shown us their offense has come a long way from the Jauron ball we suffered through. It was obvious to many here that this team started that last season after Fitz took over, even though our record took a step back our offense had started a major step forward. Let's hope that continues and we actually have something to smile about at the end of this season! I'm smiling now!
  18. I moved back to Buffalo from Ft. Lauderdale area in 2005 but they still had a place then called Rooties in the Coconut Creek area west of Ft. Lauderdale, but I'm not sure if they are still open or not. I believe it was owned by the same guys who originally owned Rooties in Getzville. They would feature the game on the biggest screens and full audio. When I first moved to South Florida in 1994 I found a place called Sneaky Petes on Oakland in F5tt Lauderdale. It usually had 200 plus Bills fans any given Sunday and the large crowds were great to watch the game at but the service was horrible because it was at least 4 deep all the way around the bar for the entire game. That's how I wound up finding Rooties which had a decent sized crowd but was not overwhelming.
  19. This cannot be overstated! I was already in this camp but boy after reading this JW article I have a horrible, bitter and disgusting taste in my mouth with respect to my beloved Bills. What a cluster fudge we have with the Bills "rebuilding" campaign! The Sabres change in ownership has really shown me what it feels like to have an owner who actually wants to win, not shave a few extra dollars for the owner's pocket in his final golden years... absoluely disgusting!!! Go Sabres!
  20. Considering that it is Buddy and not Chan that made those decisions I don't know how you can stack the bolded above on Chan...just saying! I like what Chan has shown us w/ his offensive game planning and more importantly his halftime adjustments. Whether we improve and build off of this in the upcoming year remains to be seen but I am much more worried about the defensive side of the ball!
  21. Probably a bad assumption. Paul Allen, who owns the Seahawks, is worth $13 billion alone which if divided by 1900 players equals $6.8 million per player. I know that figure includes his football and basketball franchices and not all cash but there are 31 other owners to consider...just sayin'.
  22. Government unions, contractors or employees are paid by taxes which we have no choice on whether or not to pay. I can choose whether or not the NFL or players receive any money for me or not... BIG difference!

  24. I knew it was just a matter of time before I began seeing these posts again this year! You might occasionally get a few players who give up on their coach who are about to become FAs who might slack off, but does anyone think Chan is going to lose the support of his players next year...I definately do not! Most of the players will play for pride 1st and foremost. Do I think the Bills are going to win the division, hopefully but probably not, but I don't think they are in the running for the #1 draft pick either. BTW does anyone really think that the Panthers would take Luck #1 next year after taking Newton #1 and Clausen in the 2nd the year before? They will be looking to trade out of the #1 spot if they occupy it again next year. Get it done Ditka...err I mean Nix!
  25. I'm not sure I follow your logic here. Gailey benched Edwards after 2 games and cut him off the team soon after. It doesn't seem he hesitated with that decision, in fact I would suggest he made that decision faster than most NFL coaches would have. As for Edwards Poz came out and said that the right plays were being called but the players were not doing the right things, I can't put that on Edwards. Maybin seems to have the work ethic by all accounts I've read but he just doesn't seem to "get it". I don't have any faith that this kid will amount to anything other than a BIG BUST!
