  1. That sheriff is one cool guy.
  2. Great comeback. Two weeks from now the Bills will have the chance to make things right.
  3. I have a different suggestion for who should be our LG: Justin Bannan! From what I hear he's a lot more athletic than that Baltimore reject who currently mans that position. Banaan also seems to have a high motor, which is a good example for some of our other offensive linemen. I say, keep working him into the mix a little more each week, until he has that starting OLG position all to himself.
  4. The problem with a customer base like that is it's hard to generate repeat business.
  5. I remember that game. It was in the snow. Our defenders kept sliding around, missing tackles. I remember feeling embarrassed for our defense. Bledsoe seriously outplayed Ray Lucas, but Ricky Williams was really dominant.
  6. People talk about the McGahee pick as a "risky" pick. That's fine, but then tell me how you'd define a non-risky pick. Would it be taking a QB like Ryan Leaf? An offensive lineman like Mike Williams? A defensive lineman like Erik Flowers? Well, what about injuries? Rob Johnson wasn't known as an injury-prone QB in college. There is really nothing you can do to avoid risk. No GM has a perfect record of having all his first round picks work out. The best you can do is to minimize risk by doing your homework. I personally believe that a player's mind and heart play at least as big a role in his success as does athletic talent. Willis McGahee has shown a lot of heart and desire out on the football field. Also, his play seems more intelligent than that of Travis.
  7. "Why can't we get a #1 for Henry?" Because none of the GMs in the league are stupid.
  8. This has got to be the best post I've seen on these boards. These boards aren't the only place where you hear the word "KzooMike" used to describe a difference of opinon. Thanks for standing up and saying what a lot of us were thinking.
  9. I think that Clements will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year. He was a first round pick back in 2001, and we only signed him to a four year deal.
  10. I loved that Raiders game. We should do that more often.
  11. If anyone is stupid enough to give us a #1 for Travis, we should take it without hesitation.
  12. We're happy about the COMBINATION of a Bills win and a Pats loss. Now we're one game closer to winning the division!!!!! . . . Or, at least . . . Coming close to winning the division. Or even looking kind of close. C'mon now, give us a break. We're 2-5. Let us be happy for a weekend.
  13. After we acquired RJ, San Diego offered us the 2nd overall pick in the draft for him. We turned them down, so they drafted Leaf. Hindsight is always 20/20. But in hindsight, we should have traded with SD, then traded out of the 2nd overall spot to get a first round pick that year, and another next year. We could have wound up with Pennington, as well as a bunch of other first round talent.
  14. I voted for Moorman. Any time you score 38 points despite having less than 200 yards of total offense, your special teams are doing something right.
  15. One of the advantages of having Willis in there is he makes the line look better. Normally, defensive coordinators blitz up the middle to go after Bledsoe. Having a between-the-tackles runner like Henry doesn't exactly discourage them from putting extra guys in the middle. But Willis can break the ball to the outside. He can take a quick lateral from the QB and turn it into a nice gain. He can punish a defense for sending those guys up the middle. Now your offense has an extra dimension, and you've become a lot harder to defend.
  16. Anytime your team wins 38-14, there is a lot of credit to go around. McGahee ended our rushing TD drought by carrying the rock into the endzone twice. He now has two 100 yard rushing performances and two victories in his two starts. Then there were great performances from McGee, Sam Adams, and Moorman.
  17. So far, Roethlesburger has been the best player in the draft, hands-down. Hopefully he'll slip to 2nd once JP starts playing.
  18. Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuce!!!
  19. Just voted myself. If this poll were later in the year, McGahee would win hands down. But being as how he's only had two starts out of a possible seven, it makes it tough to get national name recognition.
  20. I like your profile picture, KokBills.
  21. So who is the better back: Antowain Smith or Travis Henry? I'd say Henry, but it's closer than you'd think.
  22. It's the truth. Deal with it.
  23. Cats are actually pretty cool, you just have to learn how they think. They are predators, so they want excitement and adventure. This can either mean hunting wild animals, just like every other predatory animal wants to do. Or it can mean kittens play-fighting with each other, chasing each other around. I remember visiting my sister, and watching her two kittens chase each other around. The athleticism was absolutely amazing. They would run towards each other at full speed, they'd both jump, and they'd meet each other in mid-air. Their differing centers of gravity would cause them to collectively turn a flip while in the air, then they'd both land on their feet. Watching this was a lot more entertaining than sitting in front of the TV.
  24. I was going to bring up the fact that Travis has been outplayed by more than ten backs in 2002 - 2003, but Kzoo Mike beat me to it! So instead I'll say this: when TD was the GM in Pittsburgh, he drafted Barry Foster. A few years later, he replaced Foster with Bam Morris. I'm sure that many of Pittsburgh's fans screamed about this change, but going forward Morris produced a lot more than Foster did. Foster was basically done, even though he hadn't been in the league for a very long time. A few years later, TD replaced the (now proven) Bam Morris with Natrone Means. That change also worked out well, because after he did that Means achieved a lot more than Morris did. TD isn't very sentimental about holding onto a RB once it becomes clear that the RB is done.
  25. I think McNally said he prefers guys with a lot of hunger to guys with a lot of talent. Our current O-Line has guys like Mike Williams who have more talent than hunger. This off-season, we need to focus on getting McNally the kind of player he needs.
