  1. The thing is, that Thurman never rushed for 1600 yards. If Willis does that, he'll be better than Thurman.
  2. Bear in mind that the Allied side contained the Soviet Union, the nation that committed the worst mass murder in human history. The Allies also included the U.S. and Britain, two nations guilty of mass murder in the Dresden bombings and elsewhere. The fact that the Irish didn't necessarily believe Allied accounts of German atrocities was probably due to the fact that the atrocity stories of the first world war were generally fabrications. Come to think of it, much of what we've heard about WWII has been a fabrication also. Hitler never said he invented the big lie technique; he accused the Jews of doing so. There were no lampshades made of human skin. FDR lied about naval incidents between German and American ships, so as to make Germany appear to be the aggressor, and get the U.S. into the war.
  3. In that case, the show died every week!
  4. I'm surprised Denver didn't make the list. It gets mighty cold up in the Rockies. Add that to the thin air problem, and you've got a place that's hard to play in.
  5. While I agree Jennings gets hurt a lot, I believe he's good when he's on the field. If he'll take a reasonable salary, we should keep him. Even if it means losing Moulds.
  6. It's possible to put together a good record without being a good team. A few years back, Chicago went 13-3 or something with a lot of close wins, but they were exposed for what they really were in the playoffs. Pittsburgh is better than that, though they are not necessarily as good as some other 10-1 teams. Pittsburgh may lose in the playoffs to a team like NE, San Diego, or Indianapolis, but they won't get exposed.
  7. I'd rather have LeBeau. It seems to me that Jerry Gray has never held his own in the chess match with Charlie Weis. I'm tired of watching the Bills get undressed by the Patriots.
  8. The quality of Mickey's posts has been outstanding. I live out of town, so I rarely get to see the games. Threads like these are the next-best thing. Thanks.
  9. I'll address this post point by point: 1. Flutie was a 37 year old QB making $5 million a year when he was cut. The Bills were a rebuilding team in trouble with the salary cap. End of discussion. 2. Jeff Blake is a joke. 3. Trey Teague is actually having a pretty good year at center. 4. It's worth the 4th overall player in the draft to get an elite RT. A good offensive line is the key to winning games. It looks like MW is becoming the player TD thought he was getting when he drafted him. 5. Ryan Denny hasn't worked out that well, but Pittsburgh wanted him too. Look at Pittsburgh's defense, and you know their draft people were right more often than not. Nobody's draft record is perfect, but this move wasn't boneheaded considering the information TD had at the time. 6. Coy Wire has not been a success, but every GM makes mistakes. 7. I agree the Gregg Williams hire was a mistake. TD should have hired an offensive coordinator to be our head coach, because our defensive coaching effort was already quite good. 8. TD hasn't really been investing heavily or relying strongly on washed-up ex-Steelers. Remember how he cut that LB before the season even began? 9. You say one stupid thing and some people will hold onto it forever. If TD really hated Buffalo, I think he would have quit by now. 10. Drew is playing below average football, which is why TD drafted Losman.
  10. The only time between now and the end of the season when I'll be rooting for the Patriots will be when they play the Jets.
  11. A Cincy win over NE would help us, because it would secure home field advantage for Pittsburgh before the final game of the season. We play Cincy ourselves, so we could help them with their loss column and give ourselves the head-to-head tiebreaker at the same time. In fact, we need to win that game if there is to be any hope at all of making the playoffs.
  12. Earl Campbell maybe?
  13. That was an excellent analysis.
  14. Let's hope they do. I'll be rooting against the Broncos, Ravens, and Jets until the end of the season. Hey, come to think of it, I'll be rooting against the Jets for a lot longer than that!!
  15. Baseball has become a circus, which is why fans are leaving to watch football.
  16. I voted for Futurama. Has anyone seen the episode where that Dr. Claw guy goes nuts? It's an absolute classic; the funniest show I've seen in any genre whatsoever. It'd be worth watching an entire season of Futurama just to see that one episode. Futurama is good to great most of the time anyway.
  17. If I had to bet, it would be on Pittsburgh. A dominant defense and a strong running game, along with a QB who won't get you beat. The Patriots' defense isn't as good as that of the Steelers.
  18. This bodes ill for the future. Things are bad enough as it is without putting robots like this out there.
  19. This is just weird, man. My last few posts on this thread have all been dooomed.
  20. I'm a Netscape/Mozilla man myself.
  21. We're not the Bills of 2003. Just watch, and you'll see.
