  1. I thought that to begin with and now (after seeing the video clip) I'm not even sure. The people he was talking to literally gasped after he said what he said. People responded poorly to it at that very moment. He could have corrected himself or clarified his remarks immediately. I think it's entirely possible this one just got away from him and he wishes he could have it back.
  2. How are you able to pack so much substance into such a short post? Seriously, wow, how eloquent. I've really never thought about it but after you said Jessica Simpson could do a better job, I've really lost a lot of respect for Bush. And Kerry is a combat veteran? Really? I had no idea. He would make a better president. Just because of that! Would it be too much to ask for you to compile all your thoughts into one volume and sell it as a book? America needs great thinkers like Madison, Jefferson, Franklin, and you.
  3. Yeah, the mainstream media never does anything to help the Democrats win.
  4. Yeah, that sounds about right.
  5. Men don't marry for money. Ever. All the money in the universe couldn't compell me to marry some rich old lady (i.e. a modified version of what Anna Nicole Smith did) or, worse, Paris Hilton. I'd take the pretty girl who works two jobs to pay her rent over the ugly or old or skanked out rich broad every day of the week.
  6. Yes I think he's that stupid and yes I think he's that big of an !@#$. Kerry knows the military men and women did not vote for him in 2004. I really doubt he holds them in high esteem after that. This could be a case of a bitter, old dumbass just forgetting what he's doing.
  7. Didn't FOOF basically bomb? And, kids or no kids, Reese Witherspoon is pretty damn hot.
  8. Unfortunately, I really do think the Casino is going to happen, and pretty soon. Bass Pro could go either way but the entire handling of what to do with the Aud once the Sabres moved down the street is already as retarded as it could possibly be.
  9. Michael Irvin is a big part of why if the Bills left town tonight, I'd probably stop paying attention to the NFL tomorrow.
  10. I didn't actually see the video until a few minutes before the press conference right now. Holy crap, I knew Kerry was a dumbass but I had completely forgotten just how completely retarded he was. The best part of the video is that his own supporters literally *gasped* when he said what he said. Even the people who are so delusional that they would go out of their way to see John Kerry in person knew he just said something horrible about the troops (regardless of what he supposedly was trying to say). His press conference right now was a joke. I had no idea Rush Limbaugh and Michael J. Fox are the reason he says stupid things. "I'm a real man." Really? That's what you're going with? You know, all he had to say was "I was trying to say _____, but the words I used implied _____. I apologize, but remain critical of President Bush's policies. The end." Instead he shot himself in the head (again) by thumping his chest about being a veteran and a real man. Someone should send Kerry a memo and let him know that he'll NEVER be the President and should just give it up already. Every time he opens his mouth, everyone is reminded why we don't like him.
  11. Mmmm, no. Both the BPS and Casino are pretty terrible ideas that probably won't work in the long run anyway.
  12. Completely terrible idea. I really don't want to use waterfront property to erect a building that will be used 8 times a year. If the Bills were a baseball team and it meant getting 20,000 to 40,000 people downtown 81 times a season, then it would make sense (Jacobs Field in Cleveland is a good example).
  13. I think ESPN's baseball coverage is pretty good overall. I just wish there was more of it. The NFL does NOT need round the clock coverage (the NFL's hype machine is one of the main reasons I like the league a whole lot less now than I did a few years ago).
  14. It's really not that hard to read this part as something sexual.
  15. People around here aren't taking it well... Link
  16. That album had one of the biggest media onslaughts when it was released that I can remember. How many magazine covers were they on? How many times were they interviewed on national TV for that "brave" stand they took? It's basically over for them. Country music fans won't take them back and they won't get the same hype for their next album if that ever happens.
  17. No, it rests on stupidity. Everyone in LA is from somewhere else, and I tend to think they enjoy seeing lots of out of town games every weekend.
  18. Classic Buffalo sports fan moment! 10-0-0-0 turns into 10-0-0-1 and it's "maybe we were wrong about them" time......
  19. In a related story... "People with Good Taste in Music Reject Dixie Chicks" Seriously, they were the country music version of the Spice Girls when they came out. Hooray for girl power or whatever, but just please shut the !@#$ up.
  20. They're OK. I could see some people really liking them but they're not for me. The first song I ever heard from them was called "Existentialism on Prom Night" which pretty much clues you in to how they sound. They seem to take themselves REALLY seriously. The songs I've heard are all pretty slow and they seem to be going for melancholy, sad, or depressing a lot. I think a lot of their hype is because people hold John Nolan in really high regard for the stuff he did with Taking Back Sunday in their first years and on Tell All Your Friends. A lot of people, IMO, are still pissed at Adam Lazzara for basically breaking up Taking Back Sunday and their last two albums are ranked below TAYF because of that (almost because they have to be without John Nolan there). I was bummed when John Nolan left but, in retrospect, TBS is much better now after they went in a new direction with their new guitar and bass players. More than ever, I'd say TBS kicks ass right now and that has a lot to do with them not singing about how bad everything is all the time. Straylight Run seems really bummed out all the time. Here are a few songs by SR at their purevolume.com page: Link (Man, even their photo makes them look like a college band.)
  21. You're right, we should really be talking about JP versus Eli or one of the other 1000 QB threads. I think we're only 1-2 threads away from finally figuring out what the Bills should do to get back to the Super Bowl. This thread isn't about obscure bands. It's mostly about one guy who can't define "emo" but thinks every band is "emo."
  22. There's absolutely no way to know what would have happened had the roles been reversed. Maybe the Sabres win last night 5-0 if Vanek buries his early chance with an open net. Maybe the Sabres win the shootout last night if Vanek's shoot-out shot went into the net after hitting the crossbar. I'm not picking on Vanek (thought he played great last night) but the game was pretty close and could have gone either way with a bounce here or there.
  23. Oh, you mean you made a simple mistake and typed the wrong name? I guess it's a good thing I'm not going to overreact like a complete !@#$ing retard.
  24. You're kidding right? You know that was just a slip of the tongue and I wrote "Tell All Your Friends" when I clearly meant "Where You Want To Be"? Way to overreact. I like how you waited the entire thread until I accidentally wrote the wrong thing to jump in and declare me ignorant. You, of course, being the person who gave that legendary definition of emo as being "...about sound and emotion." But, hey, nice going finding that typo a couple posts ago. Great tactic. If this whole argument was determined based on grammar, you lost a long time ago. Here's a sample: Congratulations on those new words you invented, along with your overall weak grasp of the English language. And were you saying something about law school before? Yeah, good luck with that. I'd definitely want to hire the lawyer who can't spell, can't express himself ("uh...uh...sound and emotion!"), and thinks the case is over due to a single slip of the tongue. EDIT: BTW, nice job having the same quote twice at the top of your post. I'm sure SDS can send you some tips if you're having a tough time figuring out how to use the message board.
  25. Tell All Your Friends wasn't emo at all. Any emo influence in TBS left with John Nolan.
