  1. That's funny, but at the same time it's true. Too many jackass couples in this country who'll spend thousands of dollars to get pregnant when there are tons of kids who could use a good home. And how come Madonna hasn't bought a kid lately? It's been over a week....
  2. OK, I definitely didn't notice that the same time around. That is pretty weird. Or is it? I still have my California Angels Cabbage Patch Kid doll in the house and over the last few weeks I'd be lying if I said I hadn't put on a full Angels uniform and just sat around a few times. By the way, did you ever see that one episode of the Twilight Zone where the guy wakes up and he's the same, but everyone else is different? Could you do me a favor and stop using all these retarded nicknames for every famous person you don't like? These are like jokes from a really terrible comedian. "Rick Santorum, have you heard about this guy? More like Rick Sanitarium, am I right people?" They aren't clever. They aren't funny. And I think most people get past the whole "twist someone's name into a different word to make fun of them" phase once they leave high school.
  3. Last night's episode was good overall but there was too much time wasted on crap I could care less about. Kate's backstory is BORING. I have no idea why the writers and producers think she's an interesting character. She isn't. She's basically just an irrational moron who killed someone in cold blood a few years back. And she makes things better by screwing up more people's lives? Oh, and the couple scenes they sprinkled in with Locke felt completely tacked on and did nothing. I'm just watching because I'm already invested in the show.
  4. SilverNRed = doesn't enjoy a child's misery. bush_fumbles = does enjoy a child's misery. Everyone else got that? Great. Can we pin this thread?
  5. I didn't say his viewers "don't vote", I said they "don't vote as much as older people" which is still true. His ratings aren't that good. Period. And that's even with his gains, much of which have come in the past year as we've gotten closer to the 2006 elections. The big winner in TV ratings over the past year is Glenn Beck, whose ratings at HLN are 200% higher than HLN's same time slot one year ago before Beck took over. But, then again, Beck is conservative so he doesn't get all the puff pieces about him in major newspapers that Olbermann gets for some reason.
  6. Over 2 million votes were cast and he lost by a few thousand. That's nothing to be ashamed of. (On the other hand, what the Republicans and Democrats actually do when they're in power IS something to be ashamed of.)
  7. And, amazingly, that makes you more pathetic. Keep digging, bro.
  8. 1. It's not even that historic. It's common for an opposing party to make big gains during the sixth year of the other party's time in the White House. 2. Did I say they should mope? No, but this is !@#$ing political news. They're acting like the home team just won the Super Bowl. "WE won"? That's pathetic "reporting" by any standard.
  9. I've been saying that for much longer than a couple days. I can almost appreciate just how insane Keith Olbermann is. His idea of an informative news show is to zoom the camera in on his giant head for several minutes while he delivers a "special comment" rant that ends up having less substance than Justin Timberlake's "SexyBack" song. I guess I also like that he thinks stringing together a bunch of bumper sticker slogans is making a "special comment."
  10. I thought the Constitution had that part about how no one should ever feel bad. Hmmmm....
  11. Shut up! We need more compelling posts from the "My work here is done" guy.
  12. Yeah, he's really awesome at finding a few ways of obscuring the fact the BO's total audience is approximately four times the size of his own (which is in Nancy Grace territory). Key demographics? You mean young people, who generally don't vote as much as older people? And how weird is it that the guy takes time out of his "news" show to reassure viewers that he is popular and relevant? "I found a demographic where I'm not being massacred. So there."
  13. Not to mention the fact that WHEN they win the Cup, they'll be wearing the old school jerseys if they're playing at home. (Quinn secured permission from the NHL for the team to wear the throwbacks for all home playoffs games where they can win a series.)
  14. The TV reporters' celebrations the last couple days make Chad Johnson's celebrations look subtle.
  15. I like the Goathead way better than the Reebok Sluggalo. It actually looks like someone spent more than 5 minutes designing the Goathead. The Banana looks like a quick sketch that someone colored in. One was clearly designing to be a crest on a hockey sweater while the other was designed to be shrunk down and placed on Reebok hats.
  16. Here is exactly where I stopped reading. Keith Olbermann's show
  17. Wait wait wait, that hasn't started yet??? I thought that happened like 18 months ago! Oh man......
  18. You're really proud that you win New York State? Have you noticed it's a complete shithole? NYS is a great place to grow up and maybe go to college before leaving to start a career somewhere else. It would be nice if there was some sort of economy or development to speak of, but that died decades ago. "We win in New York!" Yeah, feel free to put that one on a bumper sticker. BTW, Alabama? They're the state Toyota is investing in. Meanwhile, Buffalo's American Axle plant is closing, just like everything else.
  19. I miss the Founding Fathers. *sigh*
  20. Game. Set. Match. Someone just got pwn3d.
  21. He seemed just about the same to me.
  22. How could she not know the camera was going to be there? There was a camera on every nominee whether they were backstage after performing or still in their seat in the crowd. It was a joke. Her reaction was so animated and over the top that I can't believe that's a sincere reaction. And who looks directly into a camera when they're having a spontaneous reaction? Like if someone jumped out from behind a curtain and scared her, would she look directly into the camera and scream or would she just jump and forget the camera was there?
  23. The money you spend re-designing the uniforms is small in comparison to the money you make selling new uniforms.
