They're probably my least favorite of Slabyk's designs but I like them about 100x more than the Fighting Banana Slug. Anything with crossed swords is good.

Habs just got RE-SLUGGED! BTW, for everyone who hates the new uniforms. Marty Biron's mask incorporates two of the logos created two years ago by John Slabyk. It's "Alt_01" and "Alt_01a" on this page which I'm sure everyone has seen a few hundred times. So at least one person in the organization can tell the difference between a terrible logo and a good one.

My favorite albums from the last 10 years
SilverNRed replied to Cugalabanza's topic in Off the Wall Archives
There are definitions that work. It's just that any accurate definition excludes bands like Taking Back Sunday and Brand New pretty easily. "Sound and emotion" doesn't cut it because that's plenty of different types of music (your definitions are actually getting more vague if that's possible). I can listen to TBS and (if I have to) Rufio and MCR and tell you that TBS has a completely different sound than the other two. They have basically nothing in common, aside from the fact that they're popular rock bands that are unnecessarily lumped together for some reason. Yes, "emo" is the popular term of the moment. Just like "rap-rock" used to be popular and applied to plenty of bands that did not work, and just like "alternative" was applied to plenty of bands that were not before that. -
No. No more first round picks for quarterbacks until we have a team for them to play with.

Wow, you just described EVERY rock band made up of young men in their early 20's. By the definition you just gave, Nirvana was an emo band and so was Pearl Jam. The friggin' Deftones match that definition. You're doing exactly what I posted about before. Grouping every rock band into "emo" because that's the popular term right now. -
If we spend our first round pick on Schaub, Quinn, or Smith, then we're basically just admitted we're the dumbest GD team in football. Once again, for everyone not paying attention, the Bills have: no offensive line no fullback no tight end one wide receiver Go ahead, bring any new young quarterback onto this team and watch him get murdered.

Remainder of season...

In that case, Terrence McGee should come to my place to hang out. I can order some pizza and we can play NHL 95 on my Super Nintendo! -
It's tough to get excited about an offensive line with ANY of those players.
-
Matt Schaub didn't play all that well when he got his shot after Mike Vick got hurt a few years back. If Losman plays the rest of the season like he's played the last three games, then he's not the starter next year and not a Buffalo Bill either. In that event, I'd be willing to let Holcomb (or another OK QB like Holcomb) be the starter next season. That way, we spend our draft picks and free agent money addressing all of the other problems this team is saddled with. Holcomb could be the caretaker until this is a team that a QB might actually want to play for. Then we might actually have a good situation for drafting another young QB. No point in doing it for next season.

Yeah, Brady Quinn will look AWESOME here if we use our first round pick to get him. He'll have: no offensive line one good wide receiver (Evans) no fullback a good RB who can't pick up the blitz no tight end And when Quinn isn't taking snaps, his defense will be busy not creating turnovers and being unable to defend running plays and passing plays. But, right, Losman is the reason the Bills suck right now. We should really look at drafting another QB.

Go to hell! Leinart will always be undefeated. FOREVER! He'll drink his IT juice and sprinkle magic IT dust on his golden IT arm and win win win!

Were there any other Bills fans there? Looks like a Pats home game on TV......

Right, and the Democrats don't play on people's fears ever. Check out the Dubai ports thread, it's three threads below this one. In any event, whatever party that is in power will always be criticized for either: 1. taking terrorists seriously and therefore "playing on people's fears." or 2. not taking the terrorists seriously until there is an attack. And the other party will attack them for both, alternating 1 or 2 depending on what sounds better from week to week. And what seperates the "manipulating fear" GOP and Dems from the "manipulating fear" Al-Qaeda is that AQ "manipulates fear" by routinely slaughtering dozens, hundreds, or thousands of people. Only a retard wouldn't notice that minor difference. -
Losman was definitely the worst Buffalo Bill today, except for all the other ones. Go ahead, Bills fans, tell yourselves we just need a new QB. Put any QB in the league on this team and they'll lose. The team sucks from top to bottom.

Not to mention Hawthorne Heights ("Seeing you cry....makes me feel like saying sorry!" WTF??) and possibly My Chemical Romance (I guess they might be goth now but they're as melodramatic as any emo band ever, and also as lame). I think being melodramatic is a big part of being emo. And totally gay. -
But does he have "IT"? Did he bring "IT" to the game today? If "IT" is what Paris Hilton gave him, has he started using Valtrex yet?
-
Losman's record in college was the same as Tom Brady's. I just googled it and it turns out his record was "Who gives a sh--?"

I'll seriously consider cutting ties with the Bills if they draft another QB (using a high pick) next spring. The Bills are football incompetent in every aspect of the game right now. Waste a first round pick on a QB (Quinn?) and he'll suck approximately as much as Losman. We don't have an offensive line, we don't have a FB, we have one OK TE (maybe), and we have one and a half wide receivers I feel good about (Evans and Parrish). If we don't improve the entire rest of the offense, no quarterback is going to come here and do well. The only way the Bills are ever going to have a pro bowl QB on this team again is if they develop one. Very few great QBs are free agents or are traded, and there's no way a star QB will actually want to come to Buffalo if he has other options. There are so many problems with the offense right now, we can't afford to drop a first or second round pick on a QB. Next year our starting QB is Losman, Nall, or some other cast-off. And I think I'm OK with that if we help the team elsewhere.

Yeah and the New York Times is probably the leading newspaper. Whoop dee fruggin' do. "Emo" is an awful genre with a few standout performers (similar to rap). Not to mention the fact that I take some satisfaction in describing things accurately. Let reporters screw things up because they're lazy if that's what they want to do. -

BTW, Christmas is coming early for me this year. My two favorite bands are Brand New and Deftones and they're releasing their new albums three weeks apart. Deftones put three new songs on their MySpace page (best of which is "Hole in the Earth") and Brand New put their new single on MySpace yesterday ("Sowing Season"). -

Who cares what websites say? Even "influential" websites? Websites can be horribly wrong just like anyone else. Taking Back Sunday doesn't fit the emo profile. Their songs aren't whiny, their singer doesn't have a high voice, and they definitely don't write every song about how terrible life or girls are. They're a hard rock band. "Emo" is just the popular term for every rock band now. It's like it was 6 or 7 years ago when everyone lumped the Deftones into the rap-rock genre for no particular reason. -
JP Losman More Productive Gaining Yards
SilverNRed replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yardage lost in sacks is already subtracted from the quarterback's total passing yards. -
As would showing some commitment to knowing what the hell down it is when we're running. *cough* Willis *cough*
