Are McBeane secretly creating an elite offense?
Billsfed1 replied to BullBuchanan's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s a top offense statistically, whether ppl want to believe it or not lol. Doesn’t have to be flashy, just has to be effective -
I think to start the game Brady leans on play action which will eventually setup the run. You wanna catch the Chiefs linebackers with their pants down and I think that happens a couple times with a Shakir/TE combo

Beat the Chiefs Sunday and I think you’re back in first

I see all the “experts” going on about how devastating it would be for either the Chiefs or Bills to lose on Sunday, but the flip side nobody is talking about; Before kickoff on Sunday we’ll know the outcome of the Patriots/Falcons. Atlanta has a sneaky good D (2nd in the NFL in yards surrendered) and has an explosive offense at times. This is not a gimmie game for the Pats. It would be rather funny to leapfrog the Pats on Sunday despite them having the head to head advantage at this point. -
Excluding Allen and the coaching staff, what are you thinking? For me, 3 guys i’m going to pay special attention to in this game are the double D’s and Keon. #1 Keon needs to step up…it’s time. Even if he’s only targeted 4 times in the gameplan, I expect him to show up for this one. Dion & Deone. Dawkins threw some really nice blocks on Allens TD runs last week and to beat a quality team like the Chiefs…it goes without saying he’ll need a nice game all around in protection and the run game. He’s been a touch sloppy this year, would like to see one game without a miscue. With Ed on the shelf for a little while, it further thrusts Buffalo’s prized rookie into the spotlight. Every week this kid does something that amazes me, he’s basically the Bills version of Yesavage on the Blue Jays in terms of being an unexpected overachiever…and we’ll need him to hold down the fort until DaQuan and TJ “Colonel” Sanders get back. My guess is Spanguolo’s approach this week is going to be stop James Cook at all costs. I don’t think Brady will run steady to the outside like last week, I think Cook will have some good numbers by the end of the game, but I expect the Chiefs to figure it out at some point unlike the Panthers. 2 others I think have a big game, Milano and Knox. Who ya got?

Week 9, Chefs v. Bills, PREDICT THE SCORE!

Bills 33 Chiefs 21 -
I’m excited for him, it’s another guy that has been given an opportunity to show what he can do for us this historic season.

And just like that…the Jaguars have been displaced. The Steelers at this point might make it as a Divisional winner at 8-9. The Chiefs can afford a loss more than the Bills on Sunday, the Patriots have an easier schedule than the Bills, and the Chiefs with a loss, can still catch the Broncos. The Broncos, like the Colts have a fairly difficult schedule and will start to accumulate some losses.

That’s what the Defense could be right there

With Ed, we just don’t know yet…could be back. If not, we’ll need DaQuan and TJ to step up. But overall, I’m pleased with what we saw today. -
I know they played a nice game against the Jets, but they just played a great game against an actual NFL team today. Held their opponent to: under 10 points under 250 yards They also generated 7 sacks and forced 3 turnovers. I know your not going to get numbers like that every week, but somehow if they did…the Bills wouldn’t lose a game the rest of the season. The newcomers looked good today…be it off injury, suspension or practice squad. Deone continues to really impress me for a young guy in that spot. AJ had a nice game…it was nice to see a game where they were firing on all cylinders. I’m excited to see what they can do against the Chiefs next week.

Deone Walker bout to turn that o-line into Carolina BBQ -
Yep they done. See the Bengals/49ers last year

If were being honest, only 4 teams in the AFC have a shot…Bills, Chiefs, Colts, Patriots. The rest just isn’t good enough this year.
-
Ravens are not making it, the hole is too deep at this point and they’ll still have more injuries occur as there’s little over half a season to go still. I think the Chiefs will make it only because the Chargers, Jaguars and Broncos are pretenders. They’ll pass at least one of those teams in the standings.
-
What’s absolutely wild about this is already the season is coming up to the halfway point, and the Chiefs and Ravens would not be in the playoffs if they started today. A couple weeks into the season that wouldn’t be a huge deal…but week 8? That’s a little concerning. The Steelers are there by default, only 1 team from the North gets in, probably the Steelers and they’ll get knocked out Wildcard Weekend. I don’t believe anyone there except the Bills are a true top 5 contender. Indy, while they’ve been impressive beating up on lesser teams, have a brutal schedule soon and will take a bunch of L’s. Basically all the Bills need to do is get a win back from NE and 1st will be theirs.

Vladdy to the World Series, Allen to San Francisco…book it.

Since the end of last season, two things hurt me; #1 Cancelling my reso at the Buffalo Hampton for Super Bowl weekend #2 My man Hollins going to the devil Other than that, loved the offseason. I called Beane the MVP (which I still think he is for 2025) and you can’t blame him for guys getting on the gas or the injuries. I’m sorry but some things are out of your control. But ya’ll still got the best player in the game. Best O-Line, best rushing offense (at the end of the season I believe) good coach, great owner, everything you could want is there. Just take ‘er ease for the next little while. Enjoy this weekend, enjoy the Panthers game next weekend, and we’ll see what these guys are made of when the Chiefs come to town.
-
I don’t believe anything major has to change, all they need to do is gradually get guys back healthy, and take it one game at a time…it’s that simple. We’ll get a nice boost on defense from the suspensions, an extra week off to heal, McDermott is undefeated off the bye week and is going to his old stomping grounds. So this is a get right game for him and his staff as well. The team as assembled is fine, they just need a bit of luck on the injury front. In a way it’s a good thing that some attrition happened early, because Walker was going to be absolutely buried in that rotation and with the limited snaps he has had, he’s turning into a stud. We hope that Bishop, Keon and Landon make similar strides and I think they will.

Beat me to it 😂

Not worried at all. I’d like to see what the team looks like by the time we’ve played the Chiefs. If were near to, or at full health by then and sitting there at 7-1, you’ve got to feel pretty good about running away with the AFC in what looks like a down year for so many teams.
