  1. Yes, this is just what I was thinking before I even scanned down to see your post, John. It is very much this and you can't worry about it.
  2. Agreed. I am not a T.O. fan, but I don't dislike him, either. The guy caught 55 passes last year on a horrible Bills team with lousy quarterbacks. No way he catches less. I think he should be good for 65 grabs, almost 1,000 yards and at least 6 TDs on the bengals. Given the guy they have on the other side, that is going to be pretty complimentary numbers (ocho probably pulls 75-80 this year).
  3. Yes, but I used to think that about Mike Williams, and that he would have a similar affect on the Bills offensive line.
  4. Ya know, I'm not sure if Bill was going to comeback to coaching, but you hit that stage in your life where your kids are grown and happy, you have been successful and you just want to relax, like the Cowher's did in eventually moving back to NC and Bill saying I'm done for awhile. These are supposed to be the happy times...54 years old. God Bless the Cowher family and all those families whose lives have felt the full effect of this disease.
  5. Just speculating here, but I believe you won't see the Bills play in the white throwbacks again. I believe they were to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the AFL/AFC and were just for last year. I think that, other than anniversaries like we saw last year, each team is only allowed three versions of jerseys. - yeah, sorry, just read the article and my comments above are the case with the white jerseys.
  6. AND it could have been worse, I could have said "insulin" tone. Cutting to the chase of this thread, though, of course i want the Bills to stay, but this is a catch 22, or for those of us that have seen Swingers "there's the rub in the fact that do you build a 9 figure stadium: That burdens the tax payers during hard times, or not build it, and give the new owner a damn good reason to move the team, above beyond the debt that he'll now have in paying on the financing of his purchase. Bagel speculated earlier that any purchase of the Bills, other than by a multi-billionaire, would involve 2/3 debt coverage. In other words, if someone is buying this team they are going to be getting about 500-600 million from someplace other than their own piggy bank. WARNING: I AM NO BANKING EXPERT, BUT I AM GOING TO UNBELIEVABLY SIMPLIFY THIS SO BEFORE THOSE REALLY IN THE KNOW JUMP ALL OVER ME PLEASE KNOW I AM JUST TRYING TO KEEP SIMPLE...MY FIGURES COULD BE OFF, BUT I AM JUST MAKING IT EASY TO UNDERSTAND FOR A DEAL OF THIS SIZE...THAT BEING SAID $550,000,000 at 3% over 15 years means a debt payment of about 45.5 million dollars a year. If the gross figures this team comes in with is about 200 million dollars (I have no back-up, just based upon memory from recent articles and discussion, feel free to correct me) then 45.5 million is big chunk the new owner is paying. To potentially say to that new owner, "Hey, now that you bought the team why don't you help spring for a new stadium in an economically depressed area where you can make only so much.", is a little bit of a stretch. I believe if the new owner pays for half of a new $350 million stadium throw another 15 million a year onto my figure above.
  7. thx, moby, i knew there was a good chance i had spelled it wrong but i was in hurry. You know, running for Lord and Master.
  8. Really? You'd talk back to your Lord and Master in such an insulate tone?
  9. I truly believe the easier thing to do would be, by any means possible, to make me Lord King and Master over all the lands of North America. At which point in time I will appoint an NFL Czar, for the sake of argument right now, lets just say it will be PTR with StuckinCincy as his #2, the end result of any of their meetings will be that: A) The Bills will never be allowed to leave Buffalo; and B) A brand new doomed stadium (a special "domed" stadium with a sense of foreboding whenever you enter) made of the finest metal known to man: metal, will be constructed in downtown Buffalo and will be named after the restaurant with the finest wings in Buffalo...to be decided by me at some later date; and C) The salary cap will still be in place, with a slight adjustment known as the "Buffalo Bills Tax"; each team gives the Bills 10 million dollars and our cap figure goes up by equal proportion. ...after the above I promise to do something about the debt.
  10. More importantly, have I mentioned to you that you have one of the greatest avatar's of all time?
  11. From ESPN.go, the Madden 11 overall ratings for our DBs J. Byrd FS 87 McGee CB 83 Whitner SS 83 McKelvin CB 81 Scott SS 80 Wilson FS 72 Florence CB 68 Youboty CB 65 Corner CB 63 Lankster CB 61
  12. OK, Glass, and forgive me for hijacking my own thread, b/c I didn't realize until I started writing the names down, but even without him...I think I like this Defense. Am I nuts?
  13. Homer Simpson, Homer Simpson, Homer Simpson, Homer Simpson, Homer Simpson, Homer Simpson, Homer Simpson, Homer Simpson, Homer Simpson, Homer Simpson, Homer Simpson, Homer Simpson, Homer Simpson, Homer Simpson, Homer Simpson, Homer Simpson, Homer Simpson, Homer Simpson, Homer Simpson, Homer Simpson. Any questions?
  14. I don't want to debate the merits of whether he does or doesn't should or shouldn't comeback, or whether he is jerking the team around or has simply had enough. My question is, assuming he does comeback how does he help the team at this stage? If he is projected as an OLB he comes in at the end of July, 5 weeks away from the first game, with no experience at the position and no time with his teammates. Kind of a double whammy that is hard to overcome. Honestly, I would appreciate it if someone can give legitimate reasons on how this wouldn't be a problem. However, if he could get in and make a difference, i gotta tell ya, when I think about our LBs, Poz, Mitchell, Davis, Maybin and Schoebel, I kind of feel pretty good. When you throw in our #2 ranked DBs of McKelvin, McGee, Byrd, Wilson, Florence, Corner, Youboty and our DL of Williams, Troup, Edwards, Stroud and Carrington, I just plain don't feel too bad about this defense. Sure it will take its lumps, but I like the base that we are building.
  15. Stucky, honestly I have had them both. Gold Star - definitely meatier and more chilier. Skyline, for people who don't know, is more like a sauce. As of the last few years you can get Skyline at Wegman's up here. A can of Skyline, some diced onions, shredded cheddert cheese, tibasco sauce, all over pasta (i think that is a three or four way)...you got yourself a party, son!! Additionally, yeah, I think unless he really breaks out that is the only way he makes the active roster.
  16. Not to ignore Stucky's post, but just an update from my post above: Naaman was 4th in the nation in receptions (104) and 4th in the Nation in yards (1402) in 2008. http://espn.go.com/college-football/statis...Yards/year/2008 BTW, Starks was 17th in the Nation in rushing (1333 yds).
  17. Going off of memory, PTR I think 103 grabs, 16 TDs and third in the nation in receptions in 2008. Honestly, i could be wrong, but I don't think I am off by that much.
  18. My wife is going to be dressed as a Jill, so, um, yeah! ...I'm glad she doesn't come to this Board. EDIT: I just realized that this post is one of the first (if not the first) time I referred to her as my wife. So...congrats TSW!
  19. The most impressive stat of all? Jerrod Johnson's "...6,000 years as the Aggies starter."
  20. Yeah, Fluff, I won't deny that, and I (and it appears PTR, as well) think he is good practice practice squad material for this year, but I still think he has nice NFL upswing.
  21. My God, Stucky, be careful. You were ALMOST cynical in that post. Please note when you are up in Buffalo we will have corn hole and Skyline Chili ready and waiting for you!
  22. You know my song with him, PTR: I love this guy and his potential but our opinion has to be a bit muted b/c for some reason some guys on this Board really get pissed off when you stick up of this kid. ...especially those who have never really seen him play and discount him due to the Conference he played in...while ignoring the smaller Conferences our higher draft picks played in.
  23. I'm glad I came in here because, well, this is Mr. Happy Fun Thread. With a little relaxation and the satisfaction of a great submarine sandwich maybe you won't read about me tomorrow climbing to the top of Campus building, picking of co-eds in the quad while screaming, "What's the frequency Kenneth!", while waiting for the oncoming Rapture. Serenity now...Serenity now.
  24. Congratulations to the guys over at Madden School for being Masters of the Obvious. http://www.madden-school.com/madden-11-buffalo-bills/ EDIT: although they do give a good recommendation.
