  1. To you first point I believe that the players would ask for a higher percentage of revenues before any improvement in working conditions. To your second point I believe that Pegula went with the grass field as a concession to placate those who wanted a domed stadium. On both counts, JMO.
  2. Josh Allen: 2020 Red Zone Passing: 5th https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2020/redzone-passing.htm 2021 Red Zone Passing: 3rd https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2021/redzone-passing.htm 2022 Red Zone Passing: 2nd https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2022/redzone-passing.htm 2023 Red Zone Passing: 4th https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2023/redzone-passing.htm Anyone want to look up team red zone performance? I've already wasted 5 minutes tamping down this stupid topic.
  3. Not to mention how excited a fan base is for their prize rookie QB... and then to suddenly be deprived of watching him develop.
  4. And you didn't? Are you not human??? Now you guys are just being silly.
  5. Maybe hire Urban Meyer to be our placekicking consultant?
  6. I have the answer to the Bills backup QB problem in two words... Chad Kelly The kid from Delaware? I didn't cry when I watched that movie.
  7. Is this a joke? I would like to respond politely and appropriately.
  8. Jimmy? Is that you?
  9. Granted he was a #1 receiver but the DeAndre Hopkins thread was 282 pages. The Odell Beckham Jr was 137 pages. Zach Ertz, 63 pages.
  10. "While I do believe that high stakes pro sports is pretty close to a meritocracy, guys that are drafted higher are more heavily invested in as far as money, emotions, egos of the decision makers, etc." "So a part of success is a self-fulfilling prophecy... based on the politics of draft position."
  11. I said stats can be misleading, not that they are meaningless. Also I didn't judge Cook as a player so I'm certainly not saying that he's only as good or worse than Singletary. Cook's certainly much more explosive and I imagine that accounts for the statistical differences you pointed out.
  12. Before this signing he was up to $7.42 million in career earnings. Over his career he's thrown 160 passes in the regular season. That's $46,363 per pass attempt.
  13. He owns a bunch of delis in lower Manhattan... below Canal Street. To the bolded, not in the modern era but they do have a HOF QB. To the bolded all 5 seem to be off to really impressive starts. Excellent posts. Having played organized sports I've seen one determinant of success that hasn't been mentioned yet... I'll call it politics... particularly as it relates to draft position. While I do believe that high stakes pro sports is pretty close to a meritocracy, guys that are drafted higher are more heavily inested in as far as money, emotions, egos of the decision makers, etc. Therefore these chosen few have a longer leash, more doubling-down in investment, and more time and opportunities to fulfill their promise. If you're drafted higher you're more likely to get 2nd and 3rd chances. For QBs trying to adjust to the speed of the pro game that's a big advantage. There are many players at all levels of sports that are not given (or know they won't be given) the same opportunity and choose to walk away. So a part of success is a self-fulfilling prophecy... based on the politics of draft position. Kind of like the Tommy DeVito thing with the Giants.
  14. If he "officially requests a trade" I guess 21 pages is the over/under.
  15. Not saying how good Cook is/isn't but these are two good points. Josh is a great QB and virtually everyone on the team benefits statistically by playing with him... and stats can be misleading.
  16. I'm not gonna argue/hijjack @GunnerBill but my original point was part and parcel with my later point. It's all one. Bad kicker forcing the Bills to go for it more often > passing the point of diminishing retuns = zero silver lining Restated, there's zero true benefit to having an undependable kicker. The last word can be yours.
  17. That might have been the Schoen's plan. It'll be interesting to see if he was right or if this is Gettelman/Saquon II. Yeah the jury is still out on Schoen/Daboll. You can bet that the Vikes are praying that's the case. Some internet guy calling himself "The Thigh Doctor" said the treatment is amputation. That or assassination... I always get those words confused.
  18. The "yips" are a real thing. Former Mets catcher Mackey Sasser reached a point where he couldn't toss the ball back to the pitcher after a pitch. I think I read where he had to work with a psychotherapist to overcome the problem. It could be concentration or it could be psychological. It could also be that he needs to see an eye doctor... incredibly that is sometimes an issue even in pro sports. I think the word is "quietly" not "sneaky."
  19. Maybe I take "silver lining" to have a different meaning than some others. To me it means that ultimately there is an overall benefit. Maybe to others it means that it's not as bad as it first appears... mitigation.
  20. I'd like to see the analytics on it. If you always go for it in coin flip situations you run past the point of diminishing returns and if the Bills already go for it more than all but 4 teams they're probably close to that point.
  21. Saying that it's good for a team (that goes for it more than 27 other teams in "coin flip situations") to go for it even more is an assertion with no proof. Making strategic decisions based on not trusting your field goal kicker has no silver lining.
  22. Are you sure we haven't had any good returners within the last 8 years?
  23. Idiotic take by Tompsett. Does he think we're going to go through the whole season without having to attempt an important field goal?
  24. Well you can't have too many good pass rushers... that's for sure.
