  1. No. I'm pretty positive that Justin Herbert is the grandson of Jack Nicklaus. Or maybe it was Jack Nicholson.
  2. For those who are unsure of this, it's true. Besides watching poker, Josh also said he deleted all the social media apps from his phone. Justin Herbert is actually related to the golfer Jack Nicklaus I believe. That's the one that jumped out at me. Jack Nicklaus. Also Harvard. So poorly written: "Matt Milano was the highest graded linebacker this past week against the Raiders!" No. It should be "Matt Milano was the highest graded linebacker in the NFL in week 3" BTW, some news stories are saying that this was Josh's 11th... one more than Jimbo but that contention is contradicted by this: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/potw_career.htm
  3. I heard he asked for ranch dressing during his first visit to Bar-Bills.
  4. I'm sincerely sorry if my "punishment" didn't fit your "crime." And I'd hate to think that I'm one of those posters that have a chilling effect on the conversations on this forum. I actually left here for numerous years because I didn't like the way I was acting. Apologies.
  5. A bit off topic but I like Dorian Williams' actions on that play.
  6. Unfortunately, wearing certain uniforms these days seems to give some people license to attack you, even though they have zero idea of the type of person you are. It's a sad world that consists of so many people who make snap judgements about others based solely on a person's appearance.
  7. @Doc Brown asked if I thought it was a dirty hit. It was not the most egregious hit on a defenseless receiver that we've seen but it was a foul IMO. Is it fair to wonder why Adams was still in the game at that point? Yes. Who should be blamed for Adams still being in the game... Adams or his Head Coach? I'm blaming the guy in charge of which star players are on the field late in a blowout game. The comments about Adams "padding his stats" are silly. IMO Does Adams himself have an exemplary track record? No. Is that relevant to him being fouled? No. Is Adams' criticism of Rapp fair and well-stated? No... he's angry and bitter and some of his comments are personal attacks. Do I understand Adams' anger? Yes. I understand any defenseless receiver being angry about being fouled. Is Rapp a dirty player? I don't think so but he's been flagged for plays like this before.
  8. No I do't understand your nonsensical point and I'm not the only one. I'm actually the 3rd person wondering WTF you're talking about. Instead of "disparaging my post" why don't you try to explain why you think a hypothetical scenario involving Damar Hamlin and his "endorsements" is relevant to this discussion... asking for the second time.
  9. While completion percentage and accuracy are not the same thing, please name me the players you think are the most accurate throwers in NFL history and then show me their completion percentages relative to their peers... You don't actually have to do this of course... my point is that you are overstating your argument.
  10. Gunner, with all due respect and also acknowledging that stats are not the end-all be-all... Garoppolo's career numbers are higher in completion percentage, yards per attempt, TD%, and passer rating. Carr's interception percentage is a bit lower. My point is that I think it's far from clear that Derek Carr is a better QB than Jimmy Garoppolo. Certainly the numbers over a large sample size indicate otherwise.
  11. I'm calling out the following comments: Well I have moved on... Much worse happened to Josh when q of the the jets sat on his head from behind and fell on him If his team won he wouldn't have anything to say. who's hoisted more Lombardis, Davante, you or Rapp? Adams was also playing in garbage time. Just sayin' Dude’s trying to make a living. Don’t try to pad your stats in garbage time against the guys you’re making fun of who play in garbage time. So can Damar do it? Or would he lose too many endorsements? I miss the days when safeties were able to punish WRs. I don't even understand how my opinion of the play is relevant. I'm commenting on those who are "reasoning" that the hit was justified. None of these people are saying the hit wasn't dirty. They're saying it was justified.
  12. HEY!!! All these airplane stories are hijacking the thread.
  13. Reminds me of the time my buddy scheduled his wedding on an October Sunday. He and his wife did eventually forgive me but it took a few years.
  14. You have moved on... okay I guess that settles it. And what's the relevance of what happened to Josh against the Jets? And you know this how? This is relevant in what way? So that justifies a dirty hit? Actually if it's garbage time doesn't that make the hit less forgivable? Wow. Really interesting thought process here. I'm not understanding your point? Do you understand your point? I guess you enjoy fights in hockey and crashes in NASCAR too? I can't remember the last topic that had so many disappointing takes...
  15. The fairly widely-held belief that Josh is inaccurate is one of the laziest takes out there and one which shows that a person is not watching the games. It's actually been very obvious for a long time that if Josh chose to (or was coached to) that he could execute a Brady-type, quick timing, horizontal attack flawlessly. In that mode he flicks his wrist like he's throwing darts at a dart board. He's virtually unstoppable. In Josh's best season (2020) he completed 69.2% of his throws. In 23 seasons, Brady's highest completion percentage was 68.9%
  16. This made me laugh. There are some excellent posters here who think that facts like "27-year old Josh Allen has 5 career games with 3 Pass TDs while completing at least 80% of his passes... the most before turning 30 in NFL history" have no value. I believe their argument is that you can arrange a cluster of data points in a way as to misrepresent a player's abilities. I disagree for the most part. For one thing how many NFL QBs have thrown 3 TD passes while completing over 80% of their passes even once? Doing it one time is a great accomplishment in my mind.
  17. Mini Marvs 72 Washington 0 I feel like sword play would entail a lot of heavy breathing... sweating too.
  18. That's a healthy physical activity for couples. One way or the other someone's gonna lose some pounds... always good to get the blood flowing. Yeah, whereas the Commanders might have a deeper WR corps, Garrett Wilson stands well above any individual WR on either team. It depends on the size of the booth and the size of the men... sometimes it seems they're uncomfortably close. I sometimes wonder if their thighs are touching.
  19. Just evaluating Watson as a player, it's hard to believe that just one year off could cause that much decline in his game... and he's had plenty of time to shake off the rust... but he doesn't appear to be the same player. He actually reminds me of Daunte Culpepper: good athlete, very smooth, stronger and faster than you think, but really lacking that quick twitch. He seems a bit lethargic in every physical act. I'm pretty sure the Steelers were trash talking mercilessly. I think that had a lot to do with the two facemasks and the pushing of the official.
  20. There's just no way the Globetrotters are gonna lost to the Washington Generals... no way. It's happened only 3 times in over 2500 games... ain't gonna happen. How long is your layover in Denver? Also, business class?
  21. I believe you're correct... McDermott's Bills have been very consistent performance-wise... with only a few exceptions. It's kind of a semantic thing... what if we call it a "possible upset?"
  22. Reasons for concern that this could be a trap game: Bills play Dolphins in week 4 Eric Bienemy appears to be doing a good job as Commanders new OC QB Sam Howell is a playmaking athlete Good offensive skill position weapons in RB Brian Robinson, and WRs Jahan Dotson, Terry McLaurin, Curtis Samuel (I think TE Logan Thomas won't play) Good defensive talents in edge rushers Montez Sweat, Chase Young, LB Jamin Davis, stout DTs Daron Payne, Jonathan Allen, and S Kamren Curl Commanders are at home Commanders are 2-0 Bills always have a target on their back All that said, if the Bills play up to their capabilities they should win without too much suspense... but this is also a game the Bills could lose if they're not focused.
  23. In every way, D Watson is a POS. He and Haslam deserve each other. The ball was not only uncatchable, he shouldn't have thrown it to a covered receiver.
