No I wouldn't say afraid. It's just that I'd recently seen a few things about the Patriots' quest for an unbeaten season in 2007 and the regular season finale against the Giants (which NE won). As we all know New England finished the regular season 16-0 but the Giants beat New England in the Super Bowl a few weeks later. Not afraid but just pointing out that New England could really be a pain in our asses.

The Jests; from 7-4 to 7-9. An epic collapse
Sierra Foothills replied to Sierra Foothills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd have to disagree on the Jets' offensive talent statement. I like Breece Hall, Michael Carter, and Zonovan Knight at RB, Elijah Moore and Corey Davis (behind Garrett Wilson) at WR, I like Tyler Conklin and Uzomah at TE, and they have several legit offensive linemen (Brown, Tomlinson, Fant) plus Alijah Vera-Tucker is looking very good and I have not written off Mekhi Becton either. All the Jets need is a QB.- 123 replies

The Cheatriots; from 7-6 to 8-8. A fly in the ointment. HOWEVER, they can still be a MAJOR pain in our asses... If they beat us next week they secure a wild card spot so they're guaranteed to be super motivated against us. On top of that if they make the playoffs they'll be sure to want to make their season by beating us in the playoffs. If we beat Cinci tomorrow night, we'll have to decide how to approach week 18 vs NE based on the aforementioned situation .

The GangGreen is a five alarm fire right now. They want to fire the owner, fire the GM, fire the coach, fire half the players, fire the ball boy. One poster said the Jests can't even draft QBs right and they lost two draft picks because of it. The entire Jests Nation is on tilt. They're wearing white after Labor Day and combining plaids and stripes. They're fighting a land war in Asia. They're taking wooden nickels. They're crying over spilt milk. They're cutting tags off mattresses. They're starving a cold and stuffing a fever. They're paying $20,000 for Taylor Swift tickets. They're eating gas station sushi. They're running with scissors. They're smoking with their oxygen on. One of them just killed John Wick's dog. It's Biblical. Don't take my word for it..... https://forums.theganggreen.com/threads/woody-johnson-f-ck-you-trust-fund-baby.98496/ https://forums.theganggreen.com/threads/who-is-getting-fired-on-this-staff.98497/ https://forums.theganggreen.com/threads/well-so-much-for-this-season.98489/

Yes, Burrow is a very accurate thrower. In many ways Burrow reminds me of a larger version of Drew Brees. Along those same lines, Josh Allen reminds me of a larger version of Brett Favre (athletic gunslinger) and Mahomes is like a more athletic version of Aaron Rodgers (the first QB to normalize throwing off-platform and using varying arm angles). Both Allen and Mahomes have raised the bar on the proficiencies of their predecessors... perhaps Burrow has too.

Carr Benched. Stidham Starting Rest of Season
Sierra Foothills replied to wjag's topic in The Stadium Wall
I won't argue any of what you assert however Carr has looked like crap this year. He was epically horrible vs the Rams and the Steelers and there were games earlier in the year that he was just bad. If Carr was playing up to his contract, he'd still be the starter. JMO. -
Carr Benched. Stidham Starting Rest of Season
Sierra Foothills replied to wjag's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's not quite accurate. If Carr were playing well and the Raiders viewed him as their QB of the present and future, the team wouldn't be benching him, regardless of any financial considerations. -

How many Raiders games have you watched this season? Maybe it's Carr's fault, maybe McDaniels' but Carr has played very poorly in the games I've watched. -
Russell Wilson and His Divisive Entourage
Sierra Foothills replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in The Stadium Wall
No because T.Y. Hilton was also available... he just recently signed with Dallas btw. -
Two more words, Paul Hackett. And then the Randy Gregory fight after the game, swinging on the Rams player. That 64 yard FG attempt really got Hackett off on the wrong foot. You're paying your new QB top salary and there's 45 seconds and 3 time outs and you're gonna run the clock down and attempt a 64 yard field goal? That was the first clear sign (aside from the constant delay of game penalties) that Hackett was in over his head. That moment was surreal and the Denver fans must have been horrified. Did you know the word gullible is not in the dictionary? 😀 Seriously, Russ Wilson was not set up for failure... he was allowed to bring in many of his people, calling and raising Tom Brady's Alex Guerrero. From The Athletic: "They provided Wilson with his own office in the team facility, gave unfettered access to members of the quarterback’s personal team of coaches and trainers and handed Wilson a key role in the design and implementation of the offense he would run with his new team."

Von Miller was already taken but Cam Heyward and Cam Jordan who are both still elite were available to the Bills.

Baker Mayfield: QBing not so hard with competent head coach
Sierra Foothills replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall
In his 3 games (with just 18 hours and 1 walk-through practice before the first game) Mayfield has completed 69% of his passes with 4 TDs and 1 INT for a 98.9 passer rating. Statistically he's been one of the best QBs in the league since parachuting into Los Angeles. -
Regular season point differential is pretty predictive of post season success: "The last five Super Bowl winners -- and seven of the last eight -- finished in the top five of regular-season point differential." https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/how-a-simple-statistic-can-help-sort-through-nfls-immense-parity-this-season-forecast-super-bowl-contenders/ "Further, 16 of the last 20 conference title participants have hailed from the prestigious top five in point differential the season they advanced to the NFL's final four. That's 80%. Staggering."

One game sample size? Mayfield has played 3 games with the Rams and is 2-1. -

Baker is an interesting guy. He's bet on himself twice in his NFL career first by agreeing to changes in his contract to facilitate his trade from Cleveland to Carolina and then more recently when he asked for his release from Carolina. The latest bet is going to earn him much more money than if he languished on the Carolina bench. Credit to Baker for his self-confidence and glad to see him doing well. -
OLine/Unforced Error All 22 Review - Bills/Dolphins Wk 14
Sierra Foothills replied to Bocephuz's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm not surprised that Quessenberry played well at guard. He's a mauler... one of the top run blockers in the league. He's a poor pass blocker. I would have guessed that moving him to guard played to his strength and minimized his weakness. Here's hoping Boettger and/or Quessenberry can be upgrades at left guard. -

Josh McDaniels some of the worst play calling in memory... and Derek Carr in the 2nd Half: 2 of 7 for 11 yards.
