Possibly moving back to WNY: northtowns or southtowns?
rusty shackleford replied to Ned Flanders's topic in Off the Wall
I lived in both. Kenmore/North Buffalo in the north and Lake View/Hamburg in the south. There are pros and cons for both and really depends what you’re looking for. Definitely a lot more snow in the south, which I don’t really mind. It’s also a lot more spread out and less traffic. It’s not everywhere in the north, but a lot of it just feels more crowded and congested. I miss being able to walk to the convenient store and restaurants in Kenmore, but I like my wooded lot in Lake View. -
There hasn’t been a ton of updates in the news but being in a few overlapping neighborhood Facebook groups, I’ve heard a few additional things. The husband was found almost right away in the rubble by the responding officer. The officer lives down the street and was on patrol close by when it happened so heard it live. The husband told them his wife was also inside. By the time they found her she was dead. He was taken to ECMC in critical condition. They also had a dog, Lucie, that was critically injured and was taken to Orchard Park Veterinary Hospital. The vet bills were quite expensive and people have been making donations directly to the vet. Cousins of the victims are sharing info on the dog, trying to find her a new forever home. The dog has been very traumatized from the incident so they are trying to find a calm environment with not other pets. National Fuel claims that it wasn’t caused by a gas leak. I have no idea how they can tell that with how bad the house was leveled but apparently they can. The house next door caught on fire right away from the burning debris that landed on the roof. The people that were living there were renting the house and were out of town at the time. It sounds like a few neighbors and first responders were able to grab some sentimental things from the house, but it needed to be demolished early the next day for safety.

A house blew up in Lake View last night along route 5. I live almost 2 miles away and my house shook like it happened down the street.   https://www.wgrz.com/article/news/local/house-explosion-hamburg/71-114aa551-58cf-440d-a1b0-97ba00a7bd92

With the draft over it is time for the udfa thread
rusty shackleford replied to scuba guy's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is where McD will find a wrestler that’s never played football before to bring in for a few weeks. -
My wife (who knows football pretty well, but doesn’t pay attention to draft prospects and whatnot) asked if we can change the channel from NFL Network to ESPN for a few minutes to check in on Mel… Except she doesn’t know his name is Mel, he’s just that weird dude they only roll out for the draft.
-
In fairness to their coverage schedule, I’m pretty sure they do that every year to give a few minute spotlight on the humane society of wherever the draft is held… but then they follow it up with 10 minutes of a Brad Praisely interview.

NFL Network just had on puppies so that was exciting.

They’re going to ask Allen to throw and catch himself more often.

Shedur Sanders Make To Round 5? (Poll) - UPDATED x 3
rusty shackleford replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think the downside is just how to manage and properly evaluate that QB room now. I don’t think anyone would have questioned the Browns if they took Sanders early in this draft. But the way it played out and now having two mid to late round rookies, two vets, and the Watson disaster all there just creates higher risk of a throw away season this year. -

There’s a Browns move. -
With Raiders and Browns passing on him multiple times, the Jets in the 3rd seems like the next possible spot for him.
-
So going back to draft day 2022, maybe his body language on live TV really was telling of how he felt going to Buffalo.

Return of the Tre! (Tre White signs with the Bills)
rusty shackleford replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Tre White is one of all time favorite Bills. I love his personality and his level of play at his peak was pretty great. Just not sure if he will ever bounce back from his injuries. Glad he is back with the team, just skeptical on how much he will actually contribute this year. -

I thought I read somewhere that it’s a deep class of long snappers this year. -
