Ah man, what would the Bills do without awesome depth in the postseason? Depth wins you nothing.

If we are calling adding DHop who had 400 yards with the the Chiefs “a future HoFer” then McDermott has had a HoF EDGE for the last 3 seasons. Like I said, McDermott hasn’t had a great defensive playoff game in Buffalo since 2020. Spags has had several since then. Maybe he’s just the unluckiest best defensive mind of all time, or maybe Reid just kinda has his number. I lean to the latter. Spags lost his starting safety in 2023 in the first Q of the divisional round. No one talks about it because his defense didn’t fall apart.

Kinda feel like you are overstating the injuries a bit. KC lost their best WR and their best RB for the season and they were on their like 3rd LT of the season. Feel like that definitely offsets losing Taylor Rapp and Benford. you will have to remind me all the defensive talent the Panthers were missing in Super Bowl 50 when the Broncos put up 24 points after only scoring 22 PPG all season. I seem to recall elite players like Norman and Kuechly playing that day.

They have more valuable firsts. That’s a very risky move to make though. Drake doesn’t take a step and those could be top 10 picks they gave away. I would only trade one or multiple firsts when I have my QB in place and can almost guarantee they will be late.

We had the largest dead cap hit in NFL history just 1 season prior. We whiffed on Von Miller. We are still fine. I think the fears of “cap mess” are greatly exaggerated imo.

Wouldn’t you rather have pick 31 for two years than Bruce Smith???

Report: Terry McLaurin requests trade

I completely disagree. when the Eagles got AJ Brown, was it tantamount to an admission Devonta Smith was a bust? This is the modern NFL. Having multiple good pass catchers in a passing league is a good thing, especially when you have a special QB who can maximize them. We aren’t trying to run the wishbone. going after Terry is more admitting Curtis Samuel was a bust signing, but I think we already know that at this point? -
But why? Since the Bills have been a double digit win team every year, our first round picks have been Rousseau, Elam, Kincaid, and Hairston. To me, this is the classic, “Micah Parsons is potentially a HoF DE in his prime, but a first round pick could be anything! It could even be potentially a near HoF DE in his prime.” This isn’t a Myles Garrett or TJ Watt who only have a few great years left. Micah may play at a very high level nearly as long as Josh will.

Christian Benford....not just a zone corner

Sneed went to the worst team in football and got hurt. not sure that’s sufficient evidence that McDuffie is overrated because Sneed couldn’t save the Tennessee Titans in 5 games played. -
But that doesn’t mean that’s going to cause salary cap problems. It’s a benefit of those players, sure. especially if they hit insane ceilings early. By the same token, would you rather have random mid tier FAs/other draft picks in the roles of Kincaid, Elam and Hairston and have Parsons instead? I would. Do I think that would cause massive salary cap problems outside of Parson’s own cost? I don’t. First round picks aren’t playing on peanuts and we are never picking higher than 25. Those picks are pretty much lower ceiling compared to the rest of the first round and not that cheap. I get it. Next year, pick 28 could be a player as good as Parsons and be 10x cheaper. And thats very valuable. But it’s much more likely they just won’t be as good/valuable as Micah.
-
Do you? The Bills historically cut a few late round picks per year. Obviously Micah is expensive but I don’t think there’s a massive salary cap effect from not having a late first and having to retain a 7th round pick instead.
-
And potentially risk $100M guaranteed?
-
It’s pretty close imo
-
I think they make the playoffs and Burrow wins MVP. But to the point, a couple of higher peaks clearly offsets WC appearances imo.
-
So I guess what I would ask, is if the Bengals beat KC in the postseason again to go to another Super Bowl, do we think the Bills have been more or less successful than the Bengals since 2021?

ATL: Cam Ward led Titans steal at least a WC spot Jags back to a top 2 pick with Lawrence unfortunately faltering Pats finish second in the AFCE and just barely miss the postseason Bengals and Ravens make the playoffs, Steelers miss after a miserable miserable 8-8-1 season Bills: 3 leading WRs in yardage are Shakir, Palmer and Samuel Cook has a slow start and signs extension in October Tre White doesn’t let Hairston take the job all season Bills 2 seed to the Ravens 1 seed
