Good Night / Bad Night - Pre-season game 2

Don't let him bother you. He just thinks he is funny but doesn't realize it comes off poorly. He is talking about me. -

I didn't crop anything. That's the TV footage (they cropped it). Here is another angle though. The defender 5 yards away has nothing to do with Coleman dropping or not dropping the pass. When you're an NFL WR, you have to catch that. Period, point blank. It has to be a catch. Heck, as an NFL WR you have to catch that even if the defender is 1 yard away. You're talking about 2 different subjects and conflating them. 1 - The quarterbacks throw. 2 - The wide receivers lack of catch. Should the throw have him been low and in? Sure. Does an NFL WR have to catch that slant that hit him right in the hands. YES. You talk as if Coleman got popped on the play. He wasn't touched. You're even expected to catch it in college. -

That shed and tackle on the Pitt RB near the boundary was eye-popping though. He absolutely dropped a TD yesterday. It hit him in both hands - you have to catch that. In general, I'm thinking its going to take Coleman a little while to reach his potential. I don't see a rookie season wonder in him so far. Just watch him on all of his routes. Follow his routes even on plays where the ball doesn't go to him. I'm genuinely concerned about the lack of separation he is achieving. And then of course on the one play where he gets separation he drops the TD. Chalk it up to growing pains. -
He is not missing the point - he is ignoring it. He knows that NFL history is littered with Super Bowl attending teams that would have missed the playoffs had they lost 1 or 2 more games. Having a backup QB that will give you a fighting chance in the scenario of a starter missing a few games is crucial. However, because it does not fit his preconceived notion and because humans have a terrible time admitting that they are wrong, he is digging his heels in.

Bills @ Steelers - Preseason Game 2 - Sat 8/17 7PM
Einstein replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
lol we haven’t forgotten that defenses can call timeout Tasker. McD does it nearly every game. -
And you continue to ignore the other half of what I said (which was added within seconds of me posting the original). You also have no idea if the Chiefs would have still won the Super Bowl. They would have went from a 1st round Bye with the Divisional and AFCCG at home… to no bye week and one of those games on the road. Regardless - There are so many examples of Super Bowl teams that would have not made the playoffs with 2 more losses that your point is completely moot.
-
No. You simply ignored half of what I said. Bucs won the Super Bowl a couple years ago. They would have missed the playoffs with 2 more losses. Giants would have 2 less Lombardi Trophies if they had loss 2 more games that season. The examples could go on and on. 2 games is a lot. And yes you can be good enough to win a SB but not great enough to be able to spare 2 games. NFL history is LITTERED with examples. I could list another 15 examples.
-
If the Bills lost 2 more games last season, they would have been out of the playoffs. If the Chiefs lost those 3 games with their backup in 2019, they would have missed the playoffs if any other division. Yet they won the Super Bowl.
-
If Allen is out for 2 games then it’s best to lose those 2 games? Or did you not read the thread at all and simply responded based on the title? There exists words beyond that sentence. Keep reading.
-
I get it - If Allen goes down with a catastrophic injury, our season is over. That is the case for nearly every NFL team and their starting QB. However, there also exists injuries that are not season ending. Sometimes you need your backup QB to keep things together for a few games until the star comes back. We need to think no farther than 2019 when Mahomes missed 3 games. The Chiefs went 2-1 without him and their backup was able to avoid a collapse. The Chiefs went on to win the Super Bowl that year. Trubisky is an absolute disaster. He’s awful. To that point, two facts/statistics stick out to me: - He was with the Steelers the past two seasons and he was 2-5 when Trubisky starters. That same team was 17-10 over the past two seasons with ANYONE else at QB. He was a handicap for Pitt and he is a handicap for us. - He has started 57 games in the NFL. In that time, he has won a total of 5 times when his team was trailing in the 4th quarter. And his team was usually trailing in the 4th quarter. In other words, if we are down in the 4th quarter, and Trubisky is playing, we are toast.

Russel Wilson is a shell of himself. Seattle really traded him at the perfect time. -

No one said that. What was said is that ticket sales are not going as well as the Bills had hoped. And that is correct. The last time we heard from the Bills, they claimed that 75% of STH’s were renewing their tickets for the new stadium. Now the Bills are saying that number is down to 60%. The new stadium will be 17% smaller, and they have sold 40% less tickets. There are dozens of posts on the Season Ticket group of people taking about their reps begging them to come back to another appointment to purchase a cheaper ticket. They are trying to drive their numbers higher because they are behind. Truth be told, it’s likely closer to 55%, as the original number was inflated by corporate sponsors purchasing blocks of seats. Summary: Of course tickets are selling. But they are not selling as well as they had hoped. PS, I think Pete is doing a good job. He came in and immediately saw the poor handling in the roll-out of the stadium and took steps to fix that. He began utilizing local media to give tours of the stadium building process which builds hype and awareness. He is now releasing more rendering photos via, again, the Bills media partners. This is what Raccuia and Roth really struggled with. -
I can’t tell if this post is sarcasm or not.

I really like Milano and he was All-Pro for us prior to injury. I will never forget him wrecking Dolphins and Jets quarterbacks for us. That being said, you’re not wrong about him being unreliable. He has never played a full season as a starter for us - ever. He missed six games in 2020, a game in 2021, two games in 2022, and then 12 games last year.
-
If we go 0.500 or less, then that is an indictment on those in charge. Not making the playoffs with a top three quarterback is a major problem. The Chiefs have never let it happen to Mahomes. It only happened once to Brady (in 20 years), and it was only his second season starting. In my opinion, cutting Morse was a mistake. it would be one thing if they had signed or drafted a viable center to replace him. But instead of doing that, they relied on disrupting the unity of the left side of the line, by moving McGovern over.

Yikes

Id be shocked if it wasn’t in OP with the new stadium.

Correct. As I said, lane 1 and 2 is at approximately 5 meters from Noah. Which is backed up by the mathematical calculation I provided to you. That 2x10^-2 difference is what brings it form 3.9 meters to nearly 5. At this speed, small fractions matter - a lot. Hill, at his 10.19 time, is closer to Noah, than lane 1 and 2 were to Bolt. Which leads me back to my point. You don’t need to find a video - math is math. It is infallible. You are not going to defeat it by frantically searching for YouTube videos in attempt to be right. Well, there ya go. Doubt anyone wants to read us squabble, so this will be my last post on the topic.
-
This is partially true (and partially nonsense) and it’s the reason why I could see a scenario where Hill defeats Noah in the 40 yard dash. Noah is significantly slower in his first 40 meters than he is in his last 40 meters. With their average speed per 10m Hill would be only 1 yard behind Noah at the finish of the 40. But because Noah is slower in the first half, Hill could perhaps beat him.
