People blamed Allen for not handing it off, but the DE remained completely neutral and didn’t crash in either direction (toward Ty or Allen). That is a well coached team.

This NEVER happened. 1st down: Screen pass to Shakir that he dropped 2nd down: Every receiver was downfield. Only Cook was close. It would have been a 3 yard pass where Cook gets crushed by the linebackers. 3rd down: Shakir and Knox were open on 3 yard crosser. You wanted him to throw that and make it 4th and 7?

Huh? Play-action or false handoffs on seeeps are never done with two hands. You’re thinking of RPO’s. Allen does this hundreds of times per year with no issues. Knox screwed this up because he NEVER does that and didn’t get his hands out of the way.

List the exact plays this happened. I want to see the exact plays you are speaking of. It’s easy to throw out blanket statements like this, but let’s break down these plays where she Always so easy to say with hindsight. Do you know how QB’s make decisions on read options? Hint; It’s not by seeing the future and knowing which option will work better. They are looking at the DE to see which way he crashes. Go towards the RB = QB keeps it. If he goes toward the QB = He gives to the RB. Thats how it is taught. On this play, the New England DE did an incredibly good job of staying neutral. He didn’t crash either way. Look at this image of when Allen is deciding: Because the DE stays neutral, Allen has a choice. 1) Hand it off and hope Ty beats him to the edge. 2) Trust the best player in the NFL (himself) to get the yardage. He trusted himself, which he should. He didn’t have a window into the future telling him which option would work better. He did what he was taught - read the DE. And on this play, the DE played it perfectly.

How the BLEEP is the Knox fumble Allen’s fault? Allen hands the ball off 350 times per year and doesn’t fumble and you think it was Allen? Not the TE who never receives handoffs? Really!? And that might be the case! However, it would STILL Knox’s fault for not operating the false handoff properly. Again, Allen does this 300+ times per year flawlessly. It was a horrendous play call.

Yes - as I already said, he could have hit Cook for a 3 yard catch (and gotten Cook crushed by two linebackers). He did NOT have Palmer for an easy 7-8 yards. I know what game you’re playing - it’s the “I see a player momentarily open while the QB is going trough his progressions, looking to the complete opposite side of the field” When Allen reaches Palmer in his progressions, he is blanketed downfield. You wanted Allen to throw thid 3 yard crosser… on 3rd and 10… to make it 4th and 7? Thats what you’re going with? Thats your argument? Instead of throwing to an open Shakir … who is past the sticks? Which is what he did. Some of you argue just to argue.

I am also tired of Joe Brady’s play calling. A tight end handoff in the 1st quarter when you’re moving the ball well? Really? REALLY JOE? You wanted Dawson Knox to get a handoff behind the line of scrimmage? It was infuriating in the first half.

If you go back and watch you will quickly see that what you are upset about never happened. On that final drive, Allen never passed up easy short passes in favor of home run balls. It didn’t happen. The best you could find is Allen not throwing a 3 yard pass to Cook and getting him blown up.

Yep. He didn’t move an inch to come get that ball.
