  1. The way my jaw just dropped…
  2. Of course we couldn't have played them 2 weeks later...
  3. That first Allen video gave me a lot of renewed hope. Thanks for posting that.
  4. Exactly what I meant in this thread:
  5. 9-7 will likely get *someone* in. The problem is, we currently lose every single tiebreaker.
  6. This is exactly the way to defend the Bengals offense. Tight man coverage.
  7. FYI, Frazier has every reason not to be honest about the reason for his departure. It looks a lot better to leave a team voluntarily than to be pushed out. Its workforce politics 101.
  8. My initial thought is to root for the Ravens, since the 1 seed is likely not in play with 5 current losses and we would want the Bengals to get their 5th loss.
  9. I understand the sentiment, but fixing the OC unfortunately doesn't fix some glaring weaknesses we have at HC. For example: In-game decision making.
  10. I'm on the Ben Johnson train but Vrabel is an intriguing choice. His teams are always a tough out, even when they have less talent than the opponent.
  11. I don't see Xanax or Alprazolam (generic for Xanax) on the NFL banned substances list. Which makes sense, since i'd be surprised if the NFL didn't allow benzodiazepines to players, as they are considered a mental health medicine. https://www.nationalfootballpost.com/columns/features/nfl-banned-substance-list/ .
  12. I thought about this but didn’t want to bring medical into it. However, since you did, I will hypothesize that it is at least possible that they prescribed him xanax or something similar to help him combat the amped up feeling that they perhaps feel leads to hero ball.
  13. Have you ever had a bad boss? Those who have can testify that, over time, even strong personalities can be worn down by repeated criticism, negativity, etc. You’re absolutely right that it could be something outside of football too. But a coach/boss can certainly impact your psyche. And I find it highly curious that Allen didn’t start looking this way until Daboll left, and seemingly less and less fire each month he is gone.
  14. Yeah... this is what my Carolina buddy said.
  15. You write this, lacking any context of what happens around the NFL. Allen went into last nights game with only 1 more INT than the best QB in the world right now. I repeat: Allen went into last nights game with only 1 more INT than the best QB in the world right now. You act as if he is on pace to double the INT's of other elite QB's, but that simply is not the case. Allen is #1 in TD's, top 5 in yards, top 5 in QBR, went into last nights game with 1 more INT than the QB who has won 2 of the last 3 Super Bowls. If he doesn't like the grind anymore, or is phoning it in, then sure - I'll be right there with you, bashing him. But I have seen zero evidence that this is the case. I think he has lost some fire because of the HC's mentality, which use to be offset by the OC's mentality, but now that OC is in New Jersey.
  16. I’m not blaming Allen for the tipped INT’s. But yeah he has had some bad throws. As does every QB. As for the bad throw on 4th down, most QB’s aren’t even able to get that ball off.
  17. Even that point of a finger was pretty tame for Josh.
  18. I think there is no doubt he is on the hot seat. He doesn’t fire his OC mid-season if his job wasn’t on the line. He even gave Dennison until the end of the season!
  19. I honest think he has 0 chance of ever getting back there if McD remains coach. This is due to my belief that McD wants a "balanced" Allen never gets too high and never gets too low. Ive heard that phrase so many times it makes me want to puke!
  20. The news of Dorsey being fired came out as I was typing this thread, so perhaps it’s redundant now, but depression-Josh is no fun.
  21. I’m concerned that Dorsey was running the type of offense that McD expects. Guess we will see. McD has now on his 4th offensive coordinator, 2nd defensive coordinator, 3rd Special Teams coach, 3rd o-line coach, 4th WR coach… Where does the buck stop?
  22. The Josh Allen we are seeing right now, is not who we saw the first 5 years off his career. Even when he had bad stretches under Daboll, he still would come out fired up the next series. He was still ready to risk it all. His fire is GONE. When he scores now, he just jogs off the field. Example: After we took the lead with 2 minutes to go last night, he started to just jog off the field (zero celebration). Spencer Brown tried to get him excited and lifted him into the air. Three years ago he’d be screaming his head off and amping everyone up. Now his facial express to being hoisted after a go-ahead TD is the face of someone who looks like they’re battling depression. And no, this is not a deceptive screenshot - this is how he looked the entire post TD celebration. The fire is gone and, Simon, I apologize for the salty language, but that friggin terrifies me!!! Where has this gone? And this? And this? And this? I genuinely believe that McDermott’s “never too high, never too low” mentality has absolutely zombified what made Allen special. I think it’s no coincidence that McD and Daboll didn’t get along, and Josh is becoming more and more like this as the months pass without Daboll as his coach.
  23. He really does. There is zero evidence of the fire he used to have.
  24. But they have to snap the ball regardless of the scenario? A timeout with 14 or 15 seconds makes a kneel even more difficult.
