Poor coaching by McDermott is becoming a theme
Einstein replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I 100% agree with you. Though one potential difference of opinion is that I think much of Allen’s regression is coaching related. We don’t see true Josh Allen anymore. Where has that fire gone? Where are the hurdles and trash talk and angry first down signaling? It coincidentally vanished when Daboll left… -
Thoughts on clock usage at the end of the game?

Agree to disagree. The field goal team was fully set up with 11 seconds left on the clock. They could have played patty-cake for a full 10 seconds before snapping it. He missed an extra point earlier that came with no rushed kick. And he made the rushed kick before halftime. Go figure lol. -

The kick didn’t feel very rushed to me. Did it to you? There was a full 11 seconds still on the game clock when the Broncos kicking team was fully set-up. The same kicker missed an extra point early, which came with no rush. -

Yeah I just don’t see how it helped. If you’re going to take it, it should be taken where it gives you an advantage. 24 seconds is plenty of time to kneel and jog your field goal team on. 14 or 15 seconds is a lot more of a challenge and you likely get the ball back for the hope of a miracle. -
Unfortunately I agree. There were points during the game where he was being handled by a tight end. Every time he is on the field is a snap that is taken away from a player that has the potential to get to the QB.

We took a timeout with 24 seconds left on the clock before 3rd down. Taking the timeout with so much time left gave Denver the option of running two more plays. A kneel down on their preferred hash mark, and then jogging their kicker out for the game winner. There wasn’t much urgency since there was plenty of time. Alternative clock usage to end the game: Had we instead took the timeout with 14 or 15 seconds left, Denver has to kick the field goal right then and there, because with no timeouts and only 14 or 15 seconds left, it wouldn’t have given them enough time to run two completely different plays (kneel down, and a field goal). 1) With the average field goal taking only 4 or 5 seconds, Denver would also be forced to kickoff to us, likely with 9 or 10 seconds left. It’s a long shot to return a kick, but it’s *something*. 2) During that timeout, you would have time to get the right 11 kick blockers on the field. Thoughts?

That was a desperation move. -

I think there are a few posters who were able to see the subtle nuances of our play, despite the wins, that indicated poor coaching themes. Themes that we felt would at some point avalanche into worse and worse problems. And there were posters who were unable to see these themes, blinded by the “Bills Win” on the scoreboard at the end of the game. Just my opinion. -

Genuinely curious if you folks still disagree that poor coaching has become a theme, or if you still believe it is not a concern? -
I don’t really even care. It all falls on McDermont shoulders. He has fired a ST coordinator, defensive coordinator, offensive coordinator, WR coach, etc in only 6 years of being head coach, and the results are always the same. There is a common denominator here.

Fire McDermott - 12 On the Field INEXCUSABLE
Einstein replied to WEATHER DOT COM's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s time to move on. -
This is the 3rd game that Taron got great late to lose (or almost lose - Giants).
-
Defense has put up a valiant fight. They’re exhausted after covering for 4 offensive turnovers. But that all-out blitz McD called on 3rd down near midfield was bad. Really bad.
-
Von was literally just engaged by a TE.
-
McDermott needs to stop blitzing. We simply can’t get home.

Franchise in trouble- Josh Allen has regressed
Einstein replied to RoscoeParrish's topic in The Stadium Wall
Unfortunately I agree. That fire and energy we saw from Allen in previous years simply isn’t there. We never see him screaming anymore, signaling first down, trash talking, etc. -
Agreed. He is a liability.

Complete failure on the defensive backs to not know where Sutton is on that scramble by Wilson.

Ed Oliver playing well with line technique but keeps missing Wilson.
-
Von Miller has 0 impact at all.
-
This was a Josh Allen interception.
-
At least. Von is a JAG at this point. I haven’t seen him win a single matchup this season.
-
I’m ready for Gabe Davis to be gone. Inexcusable to not catch a key 3rd down throw that hits you in BOTH HANDS.
-
Gabe HAS to catch that. In so tired of him.
