  1. I know, O Line, better receivers, better play calling etc. but that bottom line sounds familiar. I agree with another poster, above. Considering the so-called support from the Bengals towards the Bills which disappeared exceptionally quickly when they realised they wouldn’t get first dibs at the two seed, yesterday was more about the Bengals losing than the Chiefs winning for me. That, and the worshipping of Burrow when the amount of support he gets on and off the field compared to other QBs - no names included - is nigh on ridiculous.
  2. Think my disdain for the likes of Burrow (refund sneer), Apple and a lot of their fans outweighs my respect for Taylor. Can’t believe I’m saying this, but really want the Chiefs to win.
  3. Have to wonder if Dorsey is now moonlighting as the Chiefs OC.
  4. It’s a shame the Bengals didn’t play someone in the Wildcard Round who did almost everything right and could have been used as a blueprint. Oh wait…
  5. The Chiefs were very Bills-like on their last offensive series. Throws without burning the clock when they should have ran the ball. They’re lucky the Bengals didn’t get a TD out of it.
  6. We see it from practically every OC. I don’t get it - keep doing it until the defense proves they can stop it. Then mix of up again.
  7. McDermott and Frasier should be forced to watch the Bengals Wildcard and Championship games with their eyes held open a la A Clockwork Orange. THIS is modern defense, and please don’t try and say the Bills don’t have the personnel to play it - even without Miller and Hyde.
  8. I do wonder if Josh feels he has more freedom under Dorsey to do his own thing, whilst Daboll was more of a boss he listened to. Saying that, it’s not as if Josh didn’t have bad games under Daboll. It’s imperative they work on the short game and accepting what they give him over pre-season. We need to keep the long ball but it has to be used more sparingly, not as a default go to when panicking.
  9. It’s therapeutic seeing Burrow struggle behind a non-existent O-Line. They can have all the receivers in the world, and one of the best QBs, but if he’s not given time or space…
  10. This is the Bills. In the long run, it may do them good to have a disastrous season not down to injuries and clear the top table. But they’ll probably make the play offs, win the Wildcard before losing one of the next three games due to issues we’ve seen before but it will just be enough for everyone to hang on to their jobs.
  11. Regarding the QB argument, Josh is good enough to win the Superbowl. However, whilst he doesn't get a lot of help from elsewhere, I also think he's overly careless with the ball at times, more so than other elite QBs. But do I think the likes of Mahomes, Burrow or Hurts would do any better with this offense? No.
  12. I argued this before but actually... no. Under McDermott the Bills have had this kind of blow out every single season, sometimes more than once in the early years, where no side of the ball shows up. Chargers, Saints, Pats, Eagles, Titans, Colts, Bengals. It has nothing to do with Damar, or the snow, or shootings, or Josh Allen's elbow. It's due to the team turning up at least once woefully underprepared and woefully under-motivated. The positive side is the team has bounced back from all of those games and recovered. I think the Bengals are better than the Bills but not to the extent shown last week. The negative aspect is why do the Bills have this kind of mentality problem at least once a season.
  13. This. The Bills looked out of sorts since the bye. Hamlin alone is just an excuse but I can accept the argument that he was the final straw after a season of setbacks. But if Hamlin hadn't collapsed, I think the Bills would have lost to the Bengals in the regular season and possibly to the Ravens in the wildcard round.
  14. Normally, I think Beane's press conferences are more grounded and reassuring than McDermott's, the latter clearly hating having to do them. Saying that, I thought the latter was far more honest, open and willing to acknowledge issues yesterday than Beane today.
  15. I thought these end of season conferences were supposed to instil confidence? Sounds like Beane is basically saying "we're screwed".
  16. If they win it, quicker than the Bills?
  17. Someone said it before, but it feels like they had almost lost the enjoyment of playing football - and this was before Hamlin’s collapse. In the last two years it was fun watching the Bills and they seemed to be having fun on the field. This year felt attritional, one game at a time, oh it’s a win, hooray, oh it’s a loss, boo, move on. Next game. Particularly, and I don’t know why this is the case, after the bye. It’s as though they had momentum and lost it during that break, never to return. Everything felt difficult, nothing came simple, and every single player, for the most part, didn’t play to the best of their ability.
  18. My feeling is McDermott and Frasier need to go. The Bills are stuck in the 2000s with a defensive set up when the rest of the NFL has moved on. As Simms said, a lot of blame is understandably directed at Frasier but McDermott is a defensive mind too. Two of three key coaching positions are defensive and they couldn’t work out how to play the game. And this is after the draft has been handed to that side of the ball to supposedly improve year after year. In addition, as I have said elsewhere, the McDermott led Bills have showed up woefully unprepared in all sides of the ball in at least one game a year since he’s arrived. Can’t say the same for the Chiefs. With a QB in place, the same has barely happened to the 49ers. If the Bills want to be the best preparation is the key and, under McDermott, they drop the ball - figuratively and literally - too often. I would keep Beane and Dorsey but with caveats. Beane has to be prepared to let McDermott go, which I’m doubtful about. And saying keep Dorsey is dependent on how a seemingly creaking relationship with Diggs can be patched up. But the focus at OP has been wrong for too long. It has to change.
  19. A classless organisation with classless players and fans. To think all that rubbish being posted about by them in supposed support of Hamlin etc. Sooner they get rolled the better.
  20. Here's another stretch. Say that tweet is right about Diggs yelling "Don't listen to him". Say Diggs is telling Josh to ignore Dorsey's play calls. We know Josh respects and likes Diggs, seeing him as a brother, but also gets on with Dorsey and championed him for the job. Diggs saying one thing and Dorsey another is going to create doubt in his mind whereas, to get the best out of him, he needs to be clear and focused. Not potentially having the two people he trusts most in the footballing world telling him conflicting things.
  21. Let’s be honest, he wasn’t allowed to be. This wasn’t a game where he stupidly turned the ball over or made dopey plays. He had no protection and covered receivers who, behind Diggs, are not good enough anyway.
  22. The Bills laid an egg yesterday. Just like they do at least once every year under McDermott. Lack of preparation, lack of schemes, lack of drive. We cannot trust this team because it happens all too often.
  23. I know. Just annoyed with McBeane at the moment. And don’t think McDermott is the one to take the Bills forward.
  24. I’d love Josh and Diggs if they walk up to McBeane and basically say improve the offense or trade us. Of course, neither can be traded due to dead cap etc. but…
