    3rd and long... the Chargers defense has been like the Bills' on third and long today.

    It was ridiculous - I honestly thought he was going to run around cheering to start with (forgetting to take a knee). And then he took it out for barely any gain and left the offense in a tough spot. That doesn't excuse the mess the offense made of the next series.

    The Bills made the right decision to let him go. Finding a replacement has been more difficult.

    They're not picking up the basics in defense - force Tua to throw to the outside. Are they bothering to watch Hill and Waddle? And that was utter stupidity from Jackson. Admittedly, I did write that at a specific point in an offensive drive when they were struggling to move the ball.

    The worst thing is, if the Bills try this on Monday night, then we can be pretty sure the flags will be flying.

    Like it - the Bills had a need and have filled it the best they can. Hopefully he'll learn the defense quickly and be fit enough to play more often than not.

    Ah, ok, thanks. Was getting hopeful. Guess I am still hopeful but not as much as before! I thought there was confusion surrounding the Kirksey reports, and they were actually from a few years ago?

    Cutting Klein makes me wonder. Bernard is injured, so what do they do if Dodson misses games? They may want to put Klein on the PS, but he could be picked up by somewhere else. Giants?

    Think there are better options about at MLB than either now.

    With the likes of Kinksey and Jones available, if the Bills go into the season choosing between Dodson and Klein at MLB then serious questions need to be asked either of Beane, if he cannot bring someone in, or McDermott, if he tells Beane a MLB is not required.

    In fairness, the OP said Josh can’t read defenses as well as some think, not that he can’t read defenses at all.

    To answer the OP, the Bills have looked indisciplined and unfocused in more than one game where McDermott has 'purely' been HC.
