  1. If the Pats lose they'll have nothing to play for in Week 18, I guess. But I'd prefer the Dolphins to finish outside of the play offs.
  2. At what point to they bring Zappe in?
  3. This commentary is brought to you by the Dolphins and NFL PA team.
  4. What kind of play call was that on 3 & 1?
  5. My overall wishes for this week in priority order: Bills win at Bengals (obviously) Broncos win at the Chiefs (miracles can happen, right?) Dolphins lose at the Patriots (their treatment of Tua is rapidly making me go off the Dolphins. Plus the Pats would be a better match up in the play offs) Panthers win at the Bucs (do I need to say more?) Saints win at the Eagles (keep pressure up on the Bucs) Steelers lose at the Ravens (not sure about this one; depends if the Bengals tighten up any pressure or try even harder if the Ravens are breating down their neck. I suppose, even if the Ravens win, they'll still be after number one seed so...) Jets lose at the Seahawks (am slightly concerned about the Jets defense in the Play Offs) Colts lose at the Giants (come on, Daboll!) Bears lose at Lions (Lions in the Play Offs would be an exciting prospect) Raiders win at the 49ers (any ***** in the 49ers armour will be gratefully received) Rams win at the Chargers (as above) Browns lose at the Commanders (the more Watson loses the better) Jaguars lose at the Texans (not that it matters as all is on next week) Vikings lose at the Packers (there's something special about the Packers December record) Cardinals at Falcons - don't really care
  6. Worth remembering Josh had a very sticky regular season last year. Very similar to post bye this time around. I think the frustration is that, before the bye, he seemed to have cleaned a lot of that up.
  7. I feel more confident going to Kansas City than the Bengals, especially as the former are without Hill.
  8. Except this seems to be agreed with the Raiders whilst Mariota just disappeared (depending on whether you believe the home with a baby story doing the rounds).
  9. In fairness, I don't think many people noticed this one happen at the time; even the tweet which is doing the rounds was posted after Tua had thrown the interceptions. In comparison, straight after the incident against Buffalo, it was pretty obvious to everyone what happened and the repercussions should have been far greater than a sacking of a health professional.
  10. Ask the Broncos if they want an upgrade on Wilson?
  11. There'll be enough teams still wanting him as a starter at this point.
  12. Cardinals-Falcons the only one with nothing riding on it, so they'll probably ditch that one if need be. In truth, they'll probably conjure up a ninth box.
  13. I doubt he got any offers on 30th August - and even if he did I'm pretty sure he would have been tipped the wink that we were going to bring him straight back. As for the gap between January and March, he's made his money and knows his place in the NFL. He knows he won't be a starter and is the cash difference that big a deal? He was probably in contact with Josh even after last season's cut, who told him he wanted him to return. So he was patient and played the long game to end up in a QB room he liked with a number one he got on well with. Maybe it happened like this, maybe not. I'm not sure why it's important either way whether he got offers or not. From memory reading it last night, he said he did. Fair enough.
  14. Do they think Bills fans want to follow Daboll? Surely Dolphins-Patriots would make more sense?
  15. I think at his worst he can look like a rookie again (on a single or a handful of throws in certain games). BUT if I think about it objectively, instead of someone desperate for everything to click so the Bills win the elusive Super Bowl and letting it cloud my judgement, then so can Mahomes, Burrow, Herbert etc. I definitely think a lack of Josh would impact us more negatively than Mahomes missing for KC, Burrow for the Bengals, Herbert for the Chargers etc. As good as our defense is - except on 3rd and long! - he is our MVP and then some.
  16. Re-posting as there's been a response to my original reply. Thinking about it, I believe I'm right in saying the Steelers have an outside chance if the Dolphins lose but Jets win at the weekend? But that's only if the Jets and Dolphins play out a tie in week 18; then both teams will be on 8-8-1, and the Steelers can leapfrog by winning out.
  17. I agree, and then they’d have to hope the Jets beat the Dolphins on the final weekend of regular season.
  18. The insane games with no punts isn’t the standard - it’s Josh’s ceiling. It’s what makes him, talent wise, the best QB in the NFL. He made some plays against the Bears, but that second interception and bizarre fling it across his body and field to a well covered receiver (second quarter, I think) when there are clearly receivers better positioned is his floor; moments where the only response is what are you doing??? I keep repeating myself by saying that it is unfair to expect Josh to be Superman all the time. But if he could just up his floor by a couple of notches, maybe by being more careful with the ball and accepting easier passes more often, then he’d be an even greater force than he already is… and he’s some force already.
  19. I really should be asleep, so this season only… (Passer rating - passing TD - INT - rushing TD) 1pm home Steelers: 134.1 - 4 - 1 - 0 Vikings: 78.6 - 1 - 2 -0 Jets: 86.5 - 1 - 0 - 1 Dolphins: 119.2 - 4 - 0 - 0 We played the Browns at 1pm Sunday but in Detroit (100.4 - 1 - 0 - 0) 1pm away Dolphins: 94.7 - 2 - 0 - 0 Ravens: 68.4 - 1 - 1 - 1 Jets: 46.8 - 0 - 2 - 2 The Bills faced the Bears on a Saturday at 1pm, Josh’s record being 71.3 - 2 - 2 - 1. In a pretty obvious imbalance, we’ve only had two non-Sunday 1pm games at home this year - the Titans in week two (128.9 - 4 - 0 - 0) and the Packers in week 5 (75.1 - 2 - 2 - 0). Away, we’ve had five games taking place away from Sunday 1pm, the Bears noted above. Otherwise: Rams: 112.0 - 3 - 2 - 1 Chiefs: 117.6 - 3 - 0 - 0 Lions: 80.8 - 2 - 1 - 1 Patriots: 106.0 - 2 - 0 - 0 In general, Josh has been far better in primetime (Rams, Titans, Chiefs, Packers, Patriots) then when not. The Packers is a slight anomaly where perhaps complacency set it after a dominant first half.
  20. I assume some teams may have approached him to be the back up Quarterback between him leaving the Falcons in January, and signing for the Bills (again) in March? As a weird aside, a year ago tomorrow he was waived by the Panthers.
  21. Followed by a public split from his wife as she wanted him to quit… why does this sound familiar?
  22. Though I caught a photo of Josh doing the press conference post Bears and thought he was looking leaner than before. Might just be me. (Before anyone says it, yes I am comparing out-of-uniform to out-of-uniform!)
  23. Is that by chance? If we’d got or, in the future, get similar wind to the Patriots visit in 2021? If that had been under normal circumstances, and we had won, our record would have been 12-5 with us holding the tiebreaker over the Chiefs - the Divisional game against them would have been played at home.
  24. Though the weather impacts us so our home field chances are damaged because of it. It can be a vicious circle of sorts.
