And you would be wrong. The beginning of that season BB was already thinking about switching QBs. And he is not right, he(BB) spent 20 years with one QB which he helped developed like what was he supposed to do? Get rid of him so he can prove to a small majority he is more than a coach who coached Tom Brady.
-
I get that, but he is just now starting his career and i found out that some coaches, when they do these preseasons games, they get together and talk what they want each other's team to work on. So at least for the most part that was not what their focus for Jones was on top of the fact Agholor didn't give them the opportunity to make that throw. They did have a 3rd and long to Harry that Harry messed up. a lot of timing routes and just this past game with the Giants...i can't remember if it was Joe Judge or BB, but one of them asked the other to have their team blitz a lot so they could see how their QB handles it. No that is not why they did it, it's nothing to do with circumventing the system. They want to go with the rookie (among other things) and Cam was not going to be the backup.
-
They reported that the 3 reasons Cam was released was 1. COVID 2. Jones out played him and 3. he(CAM) did not really impressed them all that much and geez, if he could be half of Brady i would love that....their receivers (or lack of..) worry me, and i don't see BB really putting an effort into upgrading, or even knowing how to do that.
-
Yes you are right, i don't think they are going to be run, run all the time, hence the two TEs and Cam being release. BB is no way trying to run the same type of offense they did last year. They want their QBs to make throws; back shoulders, outs to backs, the strikes down the middle, alot of timing routes (especially those. Those do not get their immobile QBs killed) similar to how they ran with Brady. Yea by no means do I think the patriots are trying to replicate what they did or what they had with Brady, No that is gone, that was a once in a lifetime phase. This is just about being competitive again.
-
That is the problem people continue to think brady brady brady....they are not looking to replicated Brady success their philosophy has always been this way. They draft with this offense in mind, they look for a certain receiver to run routes a certain way, it all goes as one. They aren't doing this because it worked for Brady. THis is how they like to play and hence why they go out and grab up two TEs. They aren't an offense that wants to rely heavily on receiver's. I doubt that is the outcome, BB is not high on Stidham in anyway and there hasn't been any discuss about Stidham since his injury.
-
That's not what he will be asked to do and it's not the patriots offense. And you missed the throw he made to Harry on a 3rd and long plus Brady made a career out of doing the opposite here.
-
The back up is hoyer, Stidham is injured and more likely done w the patriots

Is the AFC East the toughest for a new HC?

Just curious, what teams were these? And I do not doubt that he is a very good coach but I have not heard anyone say "teams are following what the bills did after playing such and such.." -

They won 7 games last year w a crap roster, their rosters is miles ahead of last seasons and you saying they will win the same amount of games..ha ha 👌 You should take a look at their schedule as well. -
The 2nd best team in the AFC East is…

You're orig. statement sounded more like everything outside of NE especially when you referred to other QBs. I mean i think there is/was a small group that hyped Stidham, but hey fans being fans.(i think it's diff. in Jones case). i read on here where there are some bills fans hyping Trubisky after 1 preseason game, i mean it's Matt Trubisky and according to some of this board if Allen had to go down(not wishing that) Trubisky can now keep things rolling, like really!? -

They did draft two tight ends that suck, but they picked up two very good TEs in free agency and they will be the focal point of their offense this year. They probably will win 9 to 10 games this season in only year two of Brady's departure...so they are going to be fine. -

Stidham never got any hype like that, he just happened to be "the next" QB after Brady at the time, but he has never done anything Mac Jones is doing now in camp. -

Cause his resume speaks for itself and that is usual how it goes in all sports. You hype the greats. -

He didn't record a touchdown in that SB. He didn't do anything in that SB, what are you talking about? And yes some of their drafts have been bad, but not drafting Sony -

He won a SB with the pats against the rams, during that playoff run he average over 100 yards in 3 playoff games and nearly had a 1000 yards that season? How is that failing plus they were able to get value for him. They traded him because they are loaded at that position again i ask how did they fail in drafting him? -
Why does it matter who it is, if you do not get vaccinated you run a risk plan and simple. What bills fan want to go through this all season long jeopardizing a possible SB bid. We are going through it up here in NE with Cam Newton now (not like I care much cause Cam aint taken nobody here to the SB) Note: Whoever chooses to not get vaccinated that is your business and not mine, but for some in certain situations it becomes everyone's business..

Preseason TNF: Patriots at Eagles 7:30 NFLN
Ghost_002! replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's not true, if so they would of just kept Tom Brady. Bill was ready for Tom Brady move on. A poster said it earlier. How the pats approach their offense since Brady was there is the same way they intend to run their offense going forward (once Cam is done). Brady was a especial intangible but BB thinks it's his system as long as he has the right players to execute it. -

You do realize any team can win by that much in the NFL. Not every score has to come from the offense... And again it's preseason, nothing anyone is seeing from any team is going to tell you much. -

As oppose to everyone talking him down at every little thing he does wrong? What is it going to be something goes wrong we call him a bust and say the team is not gonna be good or something is going good then "it's only preseason"? People here gotta make up their minds because last week game threads I sure didn't see many talking about "oh it's only preseason" just alot over reactions. And the only thing I said was he did fine against the Eagles numbers in practice..like that's not even close to overdoing it. -

No rookie has, and every rookie before this class had to do it too. It's kind of the obvious that everyone knows especially their coaching staffs. -

He went against the Eagles 1s in practice all week n did just the same. He is going to be fine. BB knows how to pace him as a rookie.
