Edit! McKenzie is back on a 2 year deal worth 4.4 million

Depends on the cap hit per year on the contract but I doubt Beane would put us over the cap -
More ammunition to Egram or Gronk to Buffalo I suppose

My guess is contract is structured something like this: 2022 1m salary, 3m signing bonus 2023 4m salary so cap hit in 2022 is 2.5m i wouldn’t think ir would be $4m each year -
Point well taken
-
No need for magical accounting - cox’s cap hit would be <$5m to acquiring team. One of the reasons the price to acquire will be a ton For whatever reason, Edmunds is viewed a lot better around the league than he is on this board. Scouts/gms vs Monday morning qbs - I’ll side with the former
-
Cox would pricey as his salary AP hit to the acquiring team is low from what I can tell. 2022 salary of 1.12m, roster bonus of $1m and an option of $2.9m whatever that means. I don’t think the acquiring team would be responsible for restructured done in the past the contract. So $5m for 2022 and even less in 2024 is dirt cheap snd is going to be costly. Thinking pick 25 plus
-
If we traded for him I think his cap hit would be 8.6m - 8.4 salary and 200k workout bonus. So….if they have any interest in picks and Cole in the trade he’d only be 2m add’l to cap. I’m torn though because (a) Singletary was great at the end of last what and (b) CMC running would mean less josh throwing. Though cmc catching out of the backfield for us would be unbelievable. CMC, diggs, Gabriel, knox, Gronk (if we sign him) and a wr at 25 or 57; how does a team cover all these guys? Mack was great until the last 2 years. That would have been a lot of risk for a guy who couldn’t stay on the field the last 2 years. That’s why the draft picks traded were underwelming
-
Why the angst? I’d be thrilled with any of these: the aforementioned Chandler J, Justin Houston, Calais Campbell (though I know he’s more a DT), Melvin Ingram, Gregory, Hicks, Ogbah, Reddick, clowney, von miller That’s 10, some a lot better than others but all better than what we have
-
There are at least 5 other elite to close to elite DEs available - clowney, etc. id love chandler J BUT he is 32 and if you take away his first game last year (5 sacks), he had 1.5 sacks less than Addison. Speaking of Addison, I’d love to get him or Hughes back on a reasonable deal. Addison is severely underrated around here. He also said something a couple of weeks ago indicating he’d be back. Somththing like Buffalo isn’t letting me leave

Agree to all of this. If Jameson is there at 25 it should be an easy choice. For a torn ACL it was the best one to have - clean tear with no other ligaments compromised. Unfortunately everyone knows this and he’s probably gone in the teens. I wouldn’t trade up either for him as you’d have to give up your 2nd. Too much in this deep draft

Spotrac spitballs C. Kirk & C. Williams to Bills
Turbo44 replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yep I rather sign Gronk for 8m, McKenzie for 2-4m and have money left over for a chandler type DE. Use pick 25 for a wr who could end up a lot better than Kirk if you choose the right one -
And I’d add sign Gronk. McCafree $ is 90% offset by Beasley. Chandler, Harry and Gronk would cost about $28m real money but there are easy ways to make the number less cap wise. Unfortunately I think Jameson is prob gone by 25 but there probably will be other stud wrs available like the penn state guy snd Arkansas guy
-
I think the 5th. Two other great punters will go later (Penn state guy and GA guy) and any of the 3 will do.

Tim Graham: Bills stadium deal could be announced this week.
Turbo44 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’ll be before March 27th due to NFL owners meetings. Owners have to vote on it then and if there’s no announcement the next time they can vote on it is 6th months later, which doesn’t work. all parties aren’t stupid so it’ll be announced within 2 weeks or so -
Gronk, resign McKenzie, draft a WR in round 3 or 4; problem solved

Here’s a couple of moves that make sense to me.

I think Davis is gone i the mid first and Bradberry is way to $$ for our cap -

I take Olave, though I’d be thrilled if either we’re there -
Elway hasn’t been the GM there for at least a couple of years
-
So we want to draft the type of player that Star was supposed to be? If either one of the top 4 cb’s or top 4 wr’s fall to 25 you draft that player. If not then you either trade down or take your DT

How much $ is Trubusky going to sign for in FA?
Turbo44 replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall
Gabe Davis and Tauron Johnson were 4th round picks …… -
Me too. Kenneth is my son’s friend from Wake forest - really good kid. He transferred to Michigan State cuz of Wake rotates their RBs to a point of frustration. I had a feeling he’d run this fast. Looks like an early to mid 2nd pick now

Speculative article on friction between McDermott and Staff?

Not sure we’re going crazy about this. I don’t know if Tyler has a vendetta with McD - haven’t heard that one. He detailed some occurrences not known before (Farwell resigning, Diggs near altercation, etc) and it was interesting. He had several quotes from players and isn’t it a sportswriters job to give his intake/opinion?
