Who do you want with our first pick in 2nd?
Back2Buff replied to Back2Buff's topic in The Stadium Wall
It was driving me nuts, on who McConkey reminds me of and its Cooper Kupp. It's the way they run and create separation. Very similar. Kupp is 2 inches taller, but he plays smaller while McConkey runs a lot faster 40. -
I see a lot of Copper Kupp in McConkey. They play very similar games.

From my understanding, he doesn't take diabetes seriously. Kind of in denial one may say. Changing a mindset like that may be more difficult to deal with. -
The profile of Dayle Forness says adult entertainment enthusiast and he is a Bills fan. I would throw this out the window.

A Steeler's source before the draft was saying that he didn't take care of his diabetes which would cause him to not pay attention in meetings and not know the game plan or play book. He also has mentioned about not running routes at full speed and it definitely shows on film where he is a little off on where the ball ended up. -
Not who you think the Bills will draft, but who do you personally want?
-
McConkey plays a bit different than both these guys. I personally would rather partner McConkey with Baker. Baker is one of the best deep ball guys in the draft. I would even take a flyer on Burton with all these picks we have.
-
I'm warming up to McConkey, probably because I think his tape is just so much better than Franklin, Mitchell and Coleman. Doesn't help the deep ball, but maybe they can find someone later on that can push the safeties back.
-
Another option would be Washington. They have 2 seconds, and 3 thirds. They may not mind dropping back to 60 from 36 or 40, to get a pick for next year. They then could move back up from 60 by using one of their 3rds. Every year there seems to be a massive run on WR in the 30s-50s. I don't think we can wait till 60 to take one.
-
If I'm the Bills, I'm calling Carolina again. They dont have a second round pick next year. Trade 60, our second next year for 39 this year. At 33 and 39, you could double on WR or take DeJean and probably end up with one of Mitchell, McConkey or Franklin.
-
Not sure what you are talking about. Cinn will save well over 10 million with Chase.
-
I think you are spot on. I think they take Cooper and trade up from 60 to take Franklin. I think they have wanted Franklin for months now. I also think they will take another WR in 3rd, probably moving up again.

There is less variance between safety positions, meaning they don't have the mega highs to bring up the avg. So essentially, the 5th year option is probably going to be more than what you would give a safety, unless the Safety will be the top 2 paid in the entire NFL. So what I mean, right now a safety with 2 pro bowls from the 2021 draft that meets the playing time would be getting 17.12 million. A WR on the other hand would be getting 21.82 million. A WR with 2 pro bowls will get more like 31-32 million a year. So you would save close to 10 million on the 5th year option. Derwin James is the top paid safety at 19 million. The 5th year option is saving you less than 2 million. 2025 5th Years Highest Paid Safeties

I tried to warn people years ago about Beane. No one wanted to listen. Where would this team be if Cleve takes Allen?

Do You Like What Beane Did in the First Round?

I can not believe we let Legette get drafted when we had the chance to take him. This is a colossal failure. Legette literally told the Bills Carolina was taking him. There is already questions are about this regime being able to evaluate talent, and I have no faith they get this correct. -
It's 100% Cooper. You don't get rid of the 5th year option unless it will end up being useless because Safeties are paid less than what the 5th year option would be.

Rumor: Bills trying aggressively to move up for a WR in round one

Thought the same thing. He is my guy. His tape is ridiculous. -

Marvin Harrison Jr., Ohio State - Arizona Cardinals Rome Odunze, Washington - NY Giants Ladd McConkey, Georgia - Carolina Panthers Brian Thomas Jr., LSU - Buffalo Bills Xavier Worthy Texas- Indianapolis Colts Bonus Bills pick - Brian Thomas Jr -
Josh, Dion Taron Johnson, Bernard Gilliam, Ferguson

Very well said. Don't forget to mention he played with an elite play caller and an elite long ball QB. Allen isn't in the same tier as Penix with the deep ball. Odunze also got to play with Polk and McMillian, two very good WRs. I also can't get his last game out of my head, where he was wide opened, turned the wrong way and dropped the ball. Reminded me of Gabe Davis.

Why the Bills don't "need" a traditional X receiver
Back2Buff replied to Mikey152's topic in The Stadium Wall
I completely agree with you there, however, going in motion and creating separation is not as easy as it sounds. You need to have elite ability to change direction at the same speed which your running, the reason why Hill is so good. The WR is running horizontal across the line, if they can't change direction on a dime, the CB will have zero issue staying with the WR. -

If a defender misses on a jam, thats on the defender, not the offensive player being too quick. These rules now days allow the defender to literally be right at the line and to mug the crap out the player for 5 yards. Try jamming DK vs jamming Chase. Much tougher to do anything to alter DK than Chase. -

Happens all the time my man. Teams were doing it to Diggs all last year. -

I dont trust Joe Brady enough to be able to scheme plays where a traditional X is not needed. I think we will end up with these smaller slot guys all getting jammed at the line. -
I'm pretty confident the Bills wont touch AD Mitchell. His skill difference between him and other around him isnt big enough to deal with the not knowing playbook and taking plays off BS.
