  1. Wondering if he's tradeable? He would be a great addition to the Bills oline. This are the types of moves Beane should be making. Not stop gap players, mediocre cheap players, bad draft choices, injury prone players, and washed up old vets. Beane has failed woefully to solidify this oline for years. It's ultimately his biggest failure. Will this year be any different?
  2. Really excellent post! Very good and honest read. I'd add something has to change because what the organization is doing just isn't effective enough in the playoffs. Will be interesting to see if the new additions and McD calling the D are enough.
  3. The same NE team that fielded Matt Jones. Come on man that screams desperation. Miami out coached Buffalo last year in the playoffs. Their defense created big turnovers that lead to big points. They almost beat the Bills with a 3rd string QB on the road. You got to be kidding me that you think McD was a difference maker in those games. Stop digging yourself a bigger hole trying to defend McD's playoff record, coaching, game planning, and execution. Replay the last 3 year's of the Bills playoff games. Have you seen improvements? It should give you a nice picture of why McD is likely not the guy.
  4. Besides optimism what makes you think McD can get the team over the hump? Do you think he has great game plans? Has excellent schemes? Game time adjustments? Time management? An Xs and Os guy? A great motivator? Creative offensively and or defensively? Just wondering why so many really think McD can lead this team to a SB. Of course it's all speculation. Would welcome all comments for and against McD. Obviously, you know where I stand.
  5. Just look at the playoff games. McD and his coaching staff has not been good. I'll leave it at that.
  6. It's not just 13 seconds that McD has failed in. Of course, that's arguably the worst coaching debacle in NFL history. It's the collaborative effect of McD's terrible coaching in the playoffs. This fan is tired of seeing a Bills team get out coached, out schemed, and out prepared. It's a consistent and constant theme cone playoff time. It's hard not not to come to that conclusion once you look at things objectively. The things are going to get better, the he's young and going to learn and grow, and all the other excuses are getting tiresome. Time to move on! There's not a lot to lose...
  7. Oh I agree he doesn't owe me an apology. However, when you portray a certain image such as being a christain man, moral man, of high character, etc...you might think an apology is the right thing to do. At the very least take a little responsibility. He has done neither to date. I wonder if he apologized to the Bills players? We will really never know what he told the players. I suspect with no evidence he gave a nice consolation speech with no ownership that he failed his players. Leaders take ownership and admit their mistakes. The following year McD underpreformed in the playoffs again. That's putting it mildly. Maybe this is the year he's learned? Or next year? Or next year? It baffles me that Pegula gave him an extension. There was no need to extend him. He's likely to regret that decision in a couple of years. Just more BS excuses and lots of Bills fans believe them.
  8. No need for an apology. He will be shown the door in two years.
  9. Agree. The Bills coaches should have told all their players to tackle and hold all the Chiefs pass catchers. A penalty would have done nothing. The following year the league would have implemented some sort of rule change to prevent this from happening. McD owes the fans an apology and a likely SB win. How anyone can stand by such gross incompetence is mind boggling. To boot, the following year he was taken to the wood shed by the Bengals. A home playoff game where he players weren't prepared and his game plan absolutely sucked. But heck! This year is going to be his year. He will have learned. I got some land to sell if anyone is interested.
  10. Yet, he preaches high character and builds a culture in the locker room. That's not leading by example. This fan thinks he's a coward for not admitting his mistake.
  11. Stats only tell part of the story. You have to do the "eye ball" test." What do your eyes see? Do you trust what you are seeing? I'm not going to go playoff game by playoff game under the McD regime. All I can say is my eyes see a coach that hasn't get it done. A coach that has repeatedly failed under duress and the big game. A coach who has been out coached, out schemed, and out prepared. Maybe your eyes see it differently. Maybe you are satisfied with the Bills current playoff appearences. Everything else might be gravy on top.
  12. This is a short sighted approach here. Ask yourself if a solid HC replacement would make the playoffs with Allen. I think the only reasonable answer is yes. Put it in that context and perhaps McD doesn't look so special. Solid yes but is that good enough. Fans in Buffalo want a SB appearence and a Lombardi Trophy. At this point, making the playoffs doesn't cut it for lots of fans. Exactly! Frame this!
  13. It's all about risk vs reward. Are you content with where McD has led the team? Do you think he will process the team to a SB? Do you think a new HC can do better? Worse? Is the team ready for change? Will it be too disruptive or jump start the team? No one really knows. What's know is McD is a very good regular season coach and mediocre come playoff time. I keep asking myself what solid HC could really fail with Allen as your QB? He's the stability of the team.
  14. Looking back at this four SBs and the one that really hurts is the wide right. The Bills were by far the superior team and really didn't execute well. I'd say that were outcoached as well There is no doubt in my mind the Bills should have won. The opportunity was blown badly. That still stings in the memory bank... The two Dallas losses although it sucked were results of a great Cowboy team. The Bills stunk up the venue but I don't feel like they had good chances to win either. Maybe others seen it differently. The Wash game was another disappointment. Truthfully, all I really remember is the hype of the "hogs." Seemed like Wash was on a huge roll and had a dream season despite the lack of an elite QB. I welcome any more detailed comments or corrections.
  15. I disagree here. I really don't feel like the Bills are buying a SB. They have added Von but thats really the only big splash guy in quite awhile. They are trying to develop giys like Boogie, AJ, Rousseau, Oliver, Elam, Cook, Davis, etc. The majority of the Bills off season moves haven't been big money acquisitions. The real issue or problem if you will is the lack of production from draft choices, misses, or mediocre play. Couple that with some past pick ups that didn't pan out. In short, I'm not seeing how the regime is trying to buy a championship. Just my opinion.
  16. The Chiefs oline is elite. Mahomes is the best QB in the league and has a legit chance to give Brady a run. As a result, their WRs don't need to be elite.
  17. The Bills are strapped by the Cap. So they have to hope and pray the older experienced guys can stay healthy. How likely are there to stay relatively healthy and be ready come playoff time? Its not optimal but that's the situation they are in. Hard not to think they aren't after what we saw last year.
  18. Joe was on another planet. I'm sure he was plenty a tipsy while playing the game. I get your point though. Today's modern day athletes seem to be able to multiple task well. Except maybe not Ja Morant...
  19. I agree Allen is fantastic. However, at some point if the Bills fail to progress further does Allen start getting some blame? Heat? Criticism? I suspect not. He's far from the Bills problem. In fact, he's the rock that keeps the Bills ticking imo. Nevertheless, just wondering if football fans, the media, and football experts start pegging Allen back in the pecking QB order. Not that it really matters. The QB rankings always seem to be a fun talking point. One thing that I'm kind of keeping an eye on is Allen's media hype, commercials, Madden covet, Hollywood GF, golf venues on TV, etc...I can't hate that he's marketing himself and making money. Just wonder if how if any it affects his game. The old timer in me kind of doesn't like it. But times have really changed.
  20. Really well put. We just have to hope the depth is talented. It better be because several of them need to play well. McGovern will be a starter and the WRs should play quite a bit. When you don't have cap space you grab what you can. It appears the following years are going to be problematic too. Is the Bills dynasty run closing soon? Seems likely but who knows. Allen is a great stabilizer. In the back of my head I'm wondering if Josh would ever leave if he felt like the Bills Org just doesn't have it.
  21. AJ Espenesa are you listening? Boogie are you listening? Great post. Very good read.
  22. I keep asking myself we did the guy drop so far? He feel for a reason. Many were saying he's a good run blocker and a poor pass blocker. Hopefully, he can contribute this season. Hard to get overly excited about a rookie playing in a Bills win now mentality. Reminds me of the Cody Ford situation. We will see how he play.
  23. That's the point. Beane missed the window of opportunity. The oline should have been solidified way back then. Now he's in scramble mode and left scrapping at the leftovers due to his own doing. The bad: Beane's errors have cost the Bills likely super bowls. The good: Beanes6 pick of Allen changed the franchise and has led to multiple playoff appearences. Weapons are nice but it all starts up front. That's the main reason why the Bills can't progress forward against the elites. Yes weapons clearly help but look at the Chiefs. They lacked weapons. The Bills have lots of potential weapons on offense. BINGO!!!!
  24. Dawkins is adequate but he's nothing close to being elite. I think this oline is slightly improved but nowhere where it needs to be to win a SB. The line play on both sides of the ball will likely be the demise of the team. The game is won in the trenches and once again Beane is playing "pin the tail on the donkey" with his acquisitions.
