After watching Beane's conference with media, one takeaway I have is that Beane feels the draft is top thin, and middle round heavy. He said he wouldn't bet the farm on a first round player (and I think there might only be 20 or less first round-graded prospects). So.... I guess that means he will "more likely" trade out of the first to get more second, third, fourth round picks. I think that we also have arguably too many picks in that scenario and some picks might not even "win" a job on the 53 or PS. To me that means he would also try to trade back UP in middle rounds to go and get players he really wants as opposed to letting the board fall to him. I'm betting on more middle round picks, and we may trade away a 7th and/or a 6th rounder to move up in the middle rounds. 5 solid picks when the dust settles. Hopefully one or two that will earn significant starting time to improve the team, with the others adding needed depth at key positions.

Addressed CB in round 2 and Interior OL in round 3 Grabbed a TE that would have likely gone much higher if not for an ACL injury. Can develop behind two current starters. Added another physical corner for depth. The DL Brooks was BPA Added the "everything player; RB/FB, TE, KR etc..." and my fav "hidden gem" Connor Heyward: When have you seen a fullback/TE hybrid return kicks.... Teammate Nailor adds another developmental WR to the roster.

Here's my latest mock in a TRADE DOWN scenario (if the value at Cornerback isn't there). In this case we get THREE second round picks, and THREE playmakers at CB, WR, and CB. What you can't see is the 7th round pick spent on Georgia DE Adam Anderson for the PS, and develop. Hall has been talked about enough. You know why I picked him in the 2nd round, not the 1st. McCreary is a solid corner for insurance (Tre's injury / recovery etc). Tolbert is fast and can stretch the field. Beavers is excellent in coverage and could counter the Kelce's of the league Smith was brought in for a visit and may be an interior OL target Ellis was a value pick for me. Developmental DT Nailor in my view could make the 53 man roster for depth Turner could develop, potentially on the PS

I agree with you 100% again. I think the only way we get Hall or KWIII is in ONE draft scenario (and another unlikely scenario). 1. We can't find a trade partner to trade up for a cornerback. --- AND 2. Beane doesn't like the options at 25 and CAN find a trade down partner to target Hall or KWIII (plus get an extra second rounder in the process) Unlikely - Hall or KWIII last until our second round pick. Then you just have to jump all over that.

Totally agree with you here RochesterFan. Hoping that we can improve the OL, snag a CB one way or another AND land Breece Hall or KWIII. Too much to ask for though.... unless we get a miracle in the Free Agency or via TRADE. Beane is one smart GM though and there has to be a way.

You know, this draft is deep at WR and I'd rather see who's available as a potential long term player for the Bills with 4th round WR options. Interesting idea though. I think that the FO thinks more about whether a player will help the team win superbowls moreso than thinking about 5th year options. If a bon afide PLAYMAKER can be added, I think they just go get 'em.

Yes, and actually although I'm SURE they tried to shore up the position, the silver lining is that they will have more time to assess Tre's injury.

One of my all time favorite players was LaDanian Tomlinson and I saw him GUSHING over Breece Hall's skill set recently. As far as I'm concerned, if Hall is as good as LT thinks he can be, it would be worth landing him despite our need at Cornerback. I'm actually thinking that if we don't trade UP for a cornerback, the best option would be to trade BACK for Breece Hall, and get an extra second rounder out of the trade (using one or both second round pics on cornerbacks). I also read an article where Beane was discussing our CB need and he is in a "don't panic" mindset and feels that there is plenty of time to address CB in the draft, and during the time after the draft, when guys like Joe Haden (and others who are testing the market) could see their prices reduced. In Beane I trust.....

Depends on whether we draft a very high round OG this year that proves in training camp that he could beat out Saffold or Bates. For all we know, we might just draft a few developmental Interior O-linemen, and run with our current starters. Depends on what the draft provides.

Thanks for contributing nedboy7. From what I'm seeing, there are a core group of nay-sayers but also some who agree with some of the points I layed out. I know I differ in opinion than most, hence the outlier thread topic. I'm holding strong on the need to create dominant run game and give Allen more protection. That includes targeting Hall or KWIII, and shoring up the interior OL (and for me, that includes Center, a point that many disagree on, but that's okay). TE seems to be another point of contention. I DO like Knox, but think we can add another TE. Some squabble over where I had CB, but I still feel that we should target CB in the first three rounds despite where they are on my list (because, like I said in the OP, that position is "amplified" if you will.... and being weak at CB or QB, those positions have to be addressed earlier in drafts). Anyways, I like the way Airseven outlined himself and I'll do the same. NOTE: If a top 15 prospect slips to 25, go with BPA, including WR, LB, OT, DT, S (and of course any positions listed below) Round1: CB, OC, OG, RB (but only in a trade down). May need to trade UP for a corner in the first, because I feel that the best first round corners will be gone before 25, and I hate when teams reach on "need" and miss out on "value". Remember though, we would need a trade partner, which does not always happen, so for me, if the top CB's are gone, we should stick with VALUE and I believe that would be an interior O-lineman. Linderbaum (the player we seem to be all upset over....) has been flying off the mock drafts earlier than 25 in some cases, so he might not even be an option. We MAY be looking at an OG in round one if one of the top 15 prospects does not slip to us. Best value, BPA, and a position of need. Round 2: Depending on what we get in round one; CB, OC, OG, RB, TE. (If we get a position above, cross it off the list). This is where I feel we may need to either trade down to get Hall or KWIII OR trade up to the top of the second. I strongly feel that Allen and our WRs would explode next season if we had defenses having to contend with a top 5 running game. Round 3: CB, Interior OL, TE. Here is where I'm hoping for either McBride, Likely, or Ruckert. HOWEVER, if we still haven't landed a cornerback, I think you have to go Corner unless Beane finds some magical way to get a starting corner outside of the draft. We've seen draft day player trades before so although it's rare, I'll be looking out for it on draft day. For the rest of the draft, I basically think BPA is the way to go and my positions are below. Numbers below that. Round 4: CB (I would pick CB in any round as we not only need a starter, but better depth), DE, DT, OT, LB, WR Round 5: CB (I would pick CB in any round as we not only need a starter, but better depth), DE, DT, OT, LB, WR Round 6: CB (I would pick CB in any round as we not only need a starter, but better depth), DE, DT, OT, LB, WR Round 7: CB (I would pick CB in any round as we not only need a starter, but better depth), DE, DT, OT, LB, WR Numbers: No more than two CB No more than one OC No more than one TE No more than two OG No more than two RB No more than two LB No more than two WR No more than one DE The reality is, that on this high talent roster, late round picks will have a hard time making the 53 man roster, and will be more likely destined for the PS, and developed. Cornerbacks have a chance. I'd say linebackers as well.

So if the above article were right (and with the writer's justification of such a pick), my guess is that Morse would slide to Guard. I'd approach the rest of the draft as above. I wanted CB in round 3, but the value wasn't there.
