  1. Boom or bust? Time will tell... That's a multimillion dollar gable right there.
  2. My vote goes to bringing back Jerry Hughes.... I know it's not flashy, but he's still playing at a high level IMO and it brings continuity to a DL that has undergone some change. It also eliminates DE from our draft needs. 1 year rental (or even 2 year "final contract")
  3. The Bills should hire you as a scenario consultant. Wondering if you post a BIG BOARD closer to the draft date.
  4. Does anyone know how much $$$$ is needed in the coffers for rookie signings?
  5. ScorpionZero. How many mocks are you going to post? LOL Maybe keep a few to yourself? Love your last mock though. Would love if that were our result. Just not big on Haskins. Seems slow on the field. Lacks acceleration to hit the hole.
  6. Wow thanks for your responses. I have a few takeaways here from what "we're" saying. 1. Beane has a tendency to move up for players he covets. 2. Cornerback is arguably the most likely move to go up and get a player, and SAUCE might be the only one worth the cost of such a move. Question is whether Sauce can find himself closer to the bottom of the top 10 or a bit further down (crazier things have happened). Personally I don't like where we are at 25 and see a bit of a GAP in talent at that spot. I'm hoping a top 20 talent slips to 25, but would be happy to just get up there and get an instant differencemaker. I do have a feeling that Andrew Booth will be there at 25, he he'll be our pick. I hope not though..... A bit of a boom or bust player IMO.
  7. Hello Bills Fans, First off, my apologies if this has been discussed in another draft thread, but when looking through, I could not find it. For the first time in a WHILE, I feel like the Bills have less holes than "usual" to fill, and with last season's playoff showing, I am very excited to see where this team can go in the upcoming season. Yes, there are some clear needs and we have discussed what positions to go for in the first round. I'm usually a STICK AND PICK strategist with the draft, but this year we can afford to spend one or more draft picks to MOVE UP and get an impact player. Are there any below that are worth it? I've seen in our discussions: Corner Linebacker Wide Receiver D-line O-line So what I'd like to discuss here... is if there are any TOP 10 Talents (or TOP 20) that WILL NOT be available at #25 (or at least unlikely) even in the best hopeful scenario..... that we could consider moving up for, what draft capital that move would cost, and if it would be in the best interests of the team to make such a move. To consider: TOP 10 -Is there a top 10 Cornerback that would be an instant impact player? Stingley? McDuffy? Gardner? -Is there a top 10 WR that could justify such a move? I'm thinking NO...... -Is there a top 10 Linebacker? I'm thinking NO.... -How about DL? Hutch? Thibodeaux? Karlaftis? I'm thinking maybe... -O-line? There are quite a few top 10 OT's on that list. Is Left Tackle worth such a move? To consider: TOP 20 (a less drastic move). Is there any ONE player that can be that much of a difference maker compared to the 20-30 ranked range? 11. 8. Devin Lloyd? Yes please, even if there are long term plans for Tremaine. Tremaine needs a huge season this year in order for CONSIDERATION of a large extension. If he falls flat, he's out. Pretty simple! In any case, I'd be extremely happy to see Devin in Buffalo. Just thinking about that KC game, I'd love to see a more stout defense...... And Kelce is one heck of a TE. We need to counter that.
  9. I'd take a good rookie too. Just that they are hard to find. I really wish we addressed this in FA.
  10. I find it interesting that we're talking about Moss' vision. I think that he's never had it so why would he now? His main college attributes were his straight forward, bruising style that really needs a bit more of a hole from his O-linemen to have any effect. If he can't get to level2, he's toast. This is the reason I thought the draft pick was wasted on him. BUT I still hope to eat crow on those words... It's not like he's a first round draft bust, so I'm good with his role as a backup RB. Let's not be too hard on him. He never was meant to be a feature back right?
  11. Here's hoping Moss becomes what the team envisioned him to be. Personally, I remember being rather unhappy with the pick, preferring others on my "BIG BOARD" over him. But what do I know.... My stand on this is that we need a starting RB who will instill fear in opposing defenses. To date, Moss isn't that guy, but I also wonder if Moss would do better with a more run-heavy scheme and with an upgrade to our OL. As a team on the brink of a superbowl run..... I'm not comfortable with wait and see. If we can snag Kenneth Walker III, it improves our CHANCES of having a dominant run game. Just imagine having a dominant RB. It would give defensive coordinators fits with Allen's ability to get the ball downfield. Stack the box? Um.... Thank you very much!
  12. 25. Chris Olave. WR, Ohio State 57. Kenneth Walker III. RB, Michigan State 89. Jeremy Ruckert. TE, Ohio State 130. Terrel Bernhard. LB, Baylor 168. Lecitus Smith. OG, Virginia Tech 185. Isaac Taylor-Stuart. CB, USC 203. Kalon Barnes. CB, Baylor 231. Nick Ford. OC, Utah
  13. I'd take a corner if the board shaped up that way in the first. Really depends on who might slip down to 25. There are players in our first round BIG BOARD that I'd take over a corner. I agree that corner is a huge need, but at the same time, I think we should have addressed this need a bit more in FA. Do we really want to make a serious superbowl challenge with ANY rookie corner matching up against a seasoned vet, playoff-caliber WR? Corners need developing, even the best draftees.
  14. PICK 1: Zaquandre White, RB - South Carolina: PICK 2: Connor Heyward, TE/FB/KR - Michigan State
  15. That's a good point, but add to that a consistently great (not just good) O-line, and there's two parts of the recipe. The Browns' O-line has been spotty at best. As for WR's, I think you have to have a minimum of ONE top WR in the category of "route runner". Plus you have to have a smart coach that calls the right plays... I guess what I'm saying is that a QB isn't ever the only factor.
  16. Graphs aside, it's an interesting core question. We all hate Brady. Let's just get that out of the way... but we have to look at him in relation to this question. Undeniably, he's been one of the best QB's in this league with numerous MVP awards, well over 10 Probowls, 6 Superbowls, and 3 Superbowl MVP awards. So is Brady a product of his WR's or vice versa? Plus there's the O-LINE discussion that should be noted. Do O-LINE'S make a QB? If you don't want to talk about Brady, a similar discussion can be had about Montana, Peyton Manning, Favre, Elway, Marino, or Brees... But I thought that Bills fans would know their ENEMY the best, so Brady it is.... First off, Brady has arguably enjoyed one of the most consistently good O-lines in the league. He can stand in the pocket and get the ball out quick. His coaches always drew up a playbook that plays to his strengths. Getting the ball out quick, with a few well timed deep balls. I'd say Brady's O-line has MORE to do with his production over the years than his wide receivers, but here's a closer look at his "targets" over the past 3 years. Personally, I see these lists as "stable hands" with the top WR's as being great route runners, and not "big time, deep threat, stars". Randy Moss might have been that guy, but it's the exception to the Patriots rule IMO. Add to that one of the better TE's over the years with Gronk, and you've got an amazing "game managing, short game". Get the ball out quick, exploit mismatches, and outsmart defensive game planning. The bottom line for me, is that the GREAT QB's are not great on their own. They have: 1. Consistently SOLID O-lines., 2. Smart game planning/coaching., 3. Solid WR's with top notch route running skills, but they don't have to be superstar deep threats. IF BRADY WAS DRAFTED BY THE BROWNS, HE WOULD BE A NOBODY TODAY. 2019/20: 12-4, 1st AFC East, Lost Wildcard Playoffs 2018/19: 11-5, 1st AFC East, Won the Superbowl 2017/18: 13-3, 1st AFC East, Lost the Superbowl We can go further back, but that's too much work... They have made the playoffs every single year since Brady took over at QB, with NINE Superbowl appearances, and 5 wins.
  17. Nice to have "some" recognition by the media. I think that our safety tandem could BOTH be on that list. Tremaine Edmunds could have gotten a "nod" of some sort.
  18. This thread has some interesting posts! We're talking STAT on DUI's and related charges! TRUE FOOTBALL JUNKIES right here! ?
  19. He broke his foot in the playoffs so I'm hoping that foot doesn't give him problems this season. Foot breaks can cause some pain in the subsequent year. He's an AWESOME player, and I'm happy to see him as a Bill.
  20. That would be good! I honestly feel this team can make.a major playoff push this year.
  21. That's true. I can see that point, but having a beer between your knees while driving isn't as common (I hope?) Yeah that's what I meant. He's "toast" with the team for a number of games (minor suspension)
  22. This team is fine with or without Oliver though. Jefferson is a GREAT starter if he can stay healthy. Hope that he CAN stay healthy!
  23. Understood. So if the lab results from the alcohol blood test come back as NEGATIVE or within acceptable levels, I suppose the firearm charge gets tossed as well. But if the blood test comes back positive, Oliver is toast.
  24. Okay thanks. I wasn't aware. Laws are different in different states, and in Ontario (where I'm from).
