Wentz strikes me as someone very talented who chokes and makes boneheaded plays at the wrong time. A great backup QB is usually the opposite: not as physically gifted as great starting QBs, but mentally stable, like a coach on the field.

I think Judon meant that Josh ran but it wasn’t a designed AB draw with the line and receivers downfield blocking. Wasn’t a slight on our line, I don’t think.

I think so too. They are more top heavy but I’d argue we are deeper with top 75 type players. Josh, Stef, Milano, Poyer… if Von and Tre come back as good as before, and Kincaid and Floyd are as good as they look right now, we have a knockout squad.

Buffalo 66 came out 25 years ago yesterday

Let's span time together! -
The thing is, none of our other pass catchers were coming through last year: Davis, McKenzie, Shakir, Beasley, Crowder, Brown, etc. They mostly had poor years with a lot of drops. Diggs , meanwhile, was reliable. But when we were down we tended to use him as a decoy. Meanwhile, the Vikings basically just threw jump ball after jump ball to Jefferson when they were in trouble against us. They basically said, when the chips are down, let's go with our best. The Bills had a weird tendency to try things like the long ball Gabe dropped against the Jets. Meanwhile, when we needed it and we DID go to Diggs, like against the Lions, he came through. So I get why he got so frustrated. If Josh had hit him on the wide open deep ball for a long TD against the Bengals, it could have been a totally different game. But it wasn't. And he couldn't accept not being relied on instead

The Chargers video showed an anime version of: Von Miller, Josh Allen and Jordan Poyer burning the logos of the four Super Bowls the Bills lost (reference to the video Von made after joining the Bills advising Bills fans to Burn It All). Cut to Stefon Diggs looking on (reference to how he watched the Chiefs celebrate after they beat us in the AFC championship in 2020). Kind of haunting, and also suggested the possible tension between Diggs and Allen. Incredible how much thought and knowledge they put into the five second mention of the Bills.

Leslie Frazier "taking a year off from coaching" per Bills PR
Ray Stonada replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
I hope Leslie Frazier and his family are alright. One note for those who keep bringing up his defenses' stats in their last three playoff losses. Not sure that's not cherry picking. For comparision, I just calculated Kansas City's defensive stats in their last three playoff losses: they gave up, on AVERAGE, 31.6 points and 407.6 yards in those three games. Pretty terrible, huh? -
Shakir Training with Moulds

Heard the same thing. -
Let’s go! At the very least he’s fresh and not from Carolina. And maybe OBJ comes and we have a pretty damn good WR2.

Super Bowl Pre-Game thread. (Chiefs vs. Eagles)

I want Mahomes and the Chiefs to get it. We’ve had a tough time with them and I’d like to we’ve been dealing with the best. -
Stefon Diggs - “I watched the game five times”
Ray Stonada replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Diggs is absolutely right in his criticism. The Bills' offense regressed this year. That can be fixed. What worries me more is the increasingly public split between Diggs and Allen. They don't seem to have each others' backs at all anymore. -
Stefon Diggs - “I watched the game five times”
Ray Stonada replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I love that he watched it five times to figure out what went wrong. He should have been targeted more in that game. If they bracket him, scheme him open like they do with Chase or Jefferson. Buffalo needs five more guys with Diggs’ mentality. -
Thoughts are with the Pegula family, this is the hardest thing to deal with… lost my mother to similar circumstances in Buffalo, 17 years ago. I loved Kim when she was active, and thought it was so amazing for the Bills and the entire NFL to have a prominent young and energetic owner who happened to be female. Hopefully she will recover more speaking ability over time. Jessica is an amazing person, and on top of all of this she is top ten in the world in tennis. What a test of strength this year has been for the Bills’ entire organization. Hoping for better times very soon, and thanks to the Pegulas for what they have done for Buffalo.

Back in the 80s Montana had a mystique but the conversation usually included Unitas, Starr and Staubach. Later, Steve Young operated the Niners offense equally effectively. There was never a time when there was a broad consensus that Montana was the best ever. There’s much more of one around Brady now, IMO. Hate to admit it but Brady is miles ahead of everyone else. He dinked and dunked some years but he also operated the record breaking crazy 2007 offense with Moss, made the wild comeback against the Falcons, and he was money under pressure. He lived for the pressure and performed best under it. Kills me to say this

Kurt Warner's "Study Ball" review of Bengals game.
Ray Stonada replied to Maine-iac's topic in The Stadium Wall
Seems clear it was both: 1) The play design didn’t have a new wrinkle that defeated the Bengals’ anticipation of the Bills’ tendencies. (The way the short passes to Singletary did in last year’s “perfect” Pats game.) 2) Josh didn’t take enough of what was there, and was not mentally ahead of the Bengals defense. (Diggs’ frustration was not unfounded.) This was a winnable game, not a mismatch. -
We need Thurman Thomas.
