  1. So true. How could I forget the DMV?! Luckily, ours has an electronic portal for most renewals, but yeah, when you need to go there for a license renewal or title transfer or whatever, it's absolutely ***** brutal. Correct, and great call! I checked out PPP here... once.
  2. I think that this curmudgeon gene kicked in after I received my first AARP card this past fall. Part of this manifests itself in how frustrated I get when wasting my time at various local establishments -- when I'd rather be doing something else, something more productive, and just a general understanding that I will never get those minutes/hours/days of my life back. Without further ado, and in no specific order... Car dealerships / service departments Cable company "customer service" offices (either by phone, or worse, in person) Check out line at supermarket (self check out is a lot faster, but sometimes you just have enough in your cart where it's impractical for self check out) Banking / Bank of America customer service Asking for help, even a tiny bit, at a Home Depot or Lowe's What are yours?
  3. SO TRUE, and so familiar! I also have the "yellow castle" set, and I bet that all of the pieces will allow the dedicated builder to piece everything together, given that about 5 different sets (the 1970s base set, a late 1970s extender set, two rocketship sets, and the yellow castle) have ended up in the same plastic tubs, unsorted, over the years. And I agree with you that the best part of LEGOs is tearing the base build down then riffing and creating your own things.
  4. True, and that's the reason why I divested from gaming a long time ago. $50+ a pop was a thumbs down for me, no matter how cool the game.
  5. The Dark Lord (Ozzy) Plant Freddie Mercury Bruce Dickinson
  6. Awesome choice re: wine country. In my drinking days, was a go to, as was Willamette Valley in Oregon.
  7. They didn't have a square to spare. This is no time for complaints.
  8. Oh, are you the person I saw washing his junk at the sink in DEN airport?
  9. I really like Austin, TX. I used to work there a lot as a sales engineer, and finally I bragged enough to my wife about the brisket and oddball culture that we went there for our anniversary in 2019. Having written that, and no I'm not joking when I write this: Omaha, Nebraska. Fun city, and food kicks ass.
  10. She could also ask, rhetorically, if he ate his Chunky soup.
  11. During the drought, I'm not sure that the Bills were as bad as the Saints look right now.
  12. Great victory yesterday, but two more are needed to get a handle on where this season is going to land. Lots of good teams have shown up over the past month and a half, and given the Bills' production during that time, there are zero gimmes.
  13. Reading his work is like taking a road trip on the NYS Thruway and buying a bag of Combos "for the road". They taste good going down, but...
  14. Correct. I think we all agree that the Gregggggggg Williams coaching regime here was a total abortion. And yet, Sully went on (and on and on and on and on) about how these "teachers" couldn't get a Rob Johnson-led team to the playoffs in 2001. Well, duh. Not even the Ghost of Drew Bledsoe could help in 2002 or 2003 under the same regime. Sully "tells it like it is" to the extent we believe that he understands what he's seeing, or that he's even watching at all. At some point he's just a destitute man's Dan Shaughnessy, and you can't even make a career of carping about the Curse of the Bambino when it comes to the Buffalo Bills.
  15. We shall see. That was the best game that I've seen in almost a year. If this is the win that gets them back on track to go deep, then godspeed.
  16. Maybe she was a YouTube journalist? But it's fun to troll BB given all of shenanigans over the past 20 years, though.
  17. I mean, given that I think that at times Josh runs counter to odd stuff in the O scheme, I think that he could win the Lombardi without the same coaching, like 100%. He's that good.
  18. So true. Unfortunately, I think it would be probably $2k for us -- since we already have two boxes, which are both full, and would probably need a third one in the garage.
  19. So... I've posted on both sides of it this season. (Look at my posting history if that's your will.) On one hand, McD is a good coach, and I won't rehash what other people have said about how he's been the best coach since Wade. On the other, I opined (during two months of blahness this season) that he wasn't good enough to win a championship with this team. Maybe, and hopefully definitely, yesterday was the day that the win against the Pats showed what McD can do to motivate a team, and to deal with adversity. Yesterday's game will stick with me forever. Now let's see if another AFC-CG is in the future, and hopefully a SB win.
  20. Plus, also, he continues his boast about not being vaccinated then talks of partying on social media -- while missing games. To his credit, he's a LOT more honest about his choices than, say, Aaron Rodgers, but when I think of #billsy, I think of wide right, drafting Aaron Maybin, Levy as GM / Brandon as GM, ... many, many other examples ..., and Beasley with his anti-vax crusade. And now he's unavailable in a season that so many of us thought would be lights out for this team. It's all hands on deck at this point, but apparently not for Beasley for potentially another game.
  21. And I also opine that the reason why "Sully" never gets any good material for columns is because long ago he exhausted any goodwill he had with the team and its players. Nobody wants to speak to that tire fire of a writer.
  22. It's not even that. He tested positive, is apparently unvaccinated, and is out... until he can prove things out via testing and return. Who knows when that will be? Could be a long time, but that's the rules currently. https://wi.mit.edu/news/new-research-reveals-why-some-patients-may-test-positive-covid-19-long-after-recovery explain why he could possibly test positive for a very long time. And to the Hamburglar guy, well... he knew the rules, decided to not get vaccinated (his choice, and it's fine, in relative terms, as far as personal liberties go), and now he's out. He can do nothing about it unless the NFL changes their policy. The only thing I care about is not having Webb as QB and somebody like Wade as RB in the playoffs, just because the key players are out due to positive tests. It isn't that hard. Why do some people (Beasley) make it so hard?
