Nyheim Hines gets it, better than the coaches, better than the GM.

Those are not the only comments from the coaches. -
Listening to Nyheim Hines on XM radio NFL channel today was very encouraging. He was asked about whether or not Josh Allen should be running less. And his response was perfect. (paraphrasing here). Hines said : Its the job of the coaches and the rest of the offense to protect Allen and play better, so there is no reason for him to run. The correct response and far more on point the McDermotts and Beanes off-season whining on this subject.

Your criticisms of Sirani were dim. That was the point of my reply.

His playoff results aren't top 10. They just are not.

definitely better to have a process than a conference championship.

Poor Kincaid, going from first round best TE prospect in college football to JAG without ever playing a snap in the NFL -
DHopkins would cost a 2nd round pick...would you do it?

I heard (from the voices in my head) that McDermott is in discussions to have Dhop join the Bills and convert to CB. Could this be true? -

They haven’t managed the salary cap nearly as well as the chiefs. -
Ross Tucker ranks NFL Coach’s, places McDermott at #22.

Head coaches don’t last long in the nfl without winning championships. There is only recenct events to consider What makes you think he is better than McDaniel or Saleh. To me all three seem to be similarly competent -

Some people think making the playoffs each season makes you a good coach no matter what. To me the team has underperformed it potential. So I am in the “ so far he is mediocre “ camp -

Bills had a long streak of having Among the worst coaches in the league. McDermott is consistently generating top 8 team results with a consensus top 3 QB. These are the facts, and they are not in dispute. Whether this means McDermott is a good , mediocre or bad coach is open to quite a few interpretations -
Or maybe the risk taking pats off massively and that is why we are a top 3 offense with only two top tier players in Allen and Diggs

The three big variables on this team are Von Miller, Tre White and Micah Hyde. All of them have the potential to have all-pro 2023 seasons. Any or all of them could completely wash out. If all three of them perform at NFL average levels, then we best hope the offense is scoring 40 points a game. If they all play at past peak form, no one will even be aware that we have weak linebacking corp, and the Bills become the team to beat in the entire AFC.

Fandom loyalty tests are crucial. It certainly is more important that fans stay loyal to a team, than say the players. I have been a life long Bills fan. If Josh Allen were to leave the team, I don't know if I would become a fan of his new team, or if he would be an arch enemy. But I suspect many fans, especially those who have only been a fan during the free agent era, follow their favorite players to new teams.

NFL.com ranks the most "complete" teams in the NFL; Bills at #6

Is coaching considered in any of this. Chiefs, Bengals, Niners, Eagles were last years final four. Nothing dramatic has happened to disrupt that reality, until it is actually disrupted in reality. -
Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?

The hot rumour is Dhop to the Ravens. -
This is complete shitte. Fourteen teams make the playoffs. Eleven of them without a top 3 QB. For starters all those coaches would be expected to make the final 8 with Allen as QB. Side note - no one else would have choked 13 seconds. In the entire history of the NFL, no coach f'd up that big. Many of the teams that did not make the playoffs last year have coaches who would be expected to to make the final 8 with Allen. Guys like Belichek and Tomlin. So we start at easy 50%. No reason to think guys like Saleh or McCay or Sean Peyton would do worse. We are quickly into well over half without even trying. If the Bills hired Riech , Riviera, Campbell, Vrabel or Daboll, every fan would have an expectation of making the divisional round of the playoffs. In other words somewhere between almost all and all.

You said my comment was complete "shite" (note- don't add words or emphasis to other peoples quotes, its misleading) The comment you bolded was "In my opinion, there is not a single NFL head coach, who given Allen and the rest of the Bills roster, would be expected to have lesser playoff results than McDermott ha s had. " So I will modify my question: Which coaches would be expected TO HAVE lesser playoff results than McDermott?

I suspect the last of his type.

Which Bills players are “Make-It or Break-It” for 2023?
Chaos replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
Give Bill Cowher Big Ben, and he wins a Super Bowl pretty quickly. I think the point about McDermott is that he has a top 2 (3, 4 or you rather) QB, and is falling short with that. -
If I just get to pick, I would say Kyle Shanahan. Depends on how you frame the question. Seems Like Zac Thomas and Nick Siriano are off to pretty good starts. I did not even know who either of those guys were 3 years ago. If losing in the divisional round of the playoffs is considered success, the risk of changing coaches is quite low. As I mentioned in my other post, as long as Josh Allen is healthy, my preseason expectations for the Bills would be a minimum of reaching the divisional round of playoffs, with any head coach currently in the NFL. People who think somehow changing coaches risk going back to the level of futility of the EJ Manuel / Tyrod Taylor / Ryan Fitzpatrick/Kyle Orton days are just silly.
