Then the majority of NFL teams are fools because 56% of them exercised the option this year. It’s absolutely valuable.

Bills apparently cockblocked the Pats*** at the end of the 1st round…
Billl replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
How does this make any sense? The Chiefs could have drafted Coleman. Does that mean the Bills didn’t want him either? You’re treating this as if the Bills knew who the Chiefs and everyone else who picked from 29 to 31 were going to take. -
Xavier Worthy injured during 1st practice as a Chief
Billl replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
The only way that Beane really looks smart here is if Worthy, Pesrsall, Legette, and Coleman are all equally good. Even if Coleman is the only good one, it was dumb to let 5 additional picks take place before the Bills took him. -

It’s great fan fiction, but there’s not a chance in hell that Veach would tell Beane who they were targeting. Its a ridiculous suggestion. -

Yeah, the one game Brown played in NE plus the 7 (6.5) he played in Tampa before quitting in the middle of a game really took Brady’s career to the next level. -

When Beane was building the roster 6 years ago, he had a very clear plan that he stuck to religiously. Now, there’s a glaring lack of intentionality in seemingly everything he does. He clearly didn’t intend to trade Diggs. His hand was forced. Then when it was time to replace him in the draft, he traded back twice. Even if Coleman turns out to be a superstar, it was a bad move for Beane to let three more teams take WRs before Buffalo drafted him. BB just seems a bit lost at the moment. It’s easy to say in hindsight that he’s trying to get bigger and stronger on offense and that’s why they drafted Coleman, but that’s nothing more than shooting an arrow and then painting a bullseye around it. SF could have just as easily drafted him. Then if Buffalo took McConkey or Pearsall, the same people would be saying that Beane is clearly trying to do (insert whatever narrative would have applied to the player he picked instead of Coleman). -
Top 5 QB and Top 5 WR salary cannot coexist on a SB team
Billl replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
You’re not looking at this correctly. His average cap hit over that stretch is 5.25, but that makes him easily one of the top 5 cap hits overall during that period. It’s not like whomever has the highest overall hit is going to be the top hit every season, thus averaging 1. If a player had the highest cap hit in the league 3 times and the second highest hit once over a 4year period, he’d average 1.25, but he’d still have the highest overall hit. -
What's the point of this team's philosophy?

What do you base this on? Davis has 3 career fumbles and he recovered one himself. -
Who said anything about McConkey? Where he plays has nothing to do with Coleman. Keon is better suited as a big slot WR than he is an X. He’s going to have to play primarily outside in Buffalo due to the lack of other options, but it’s not like Franklin would only have been an option in the 3rd if Roman Wilson had been drafted instead of Coleman. The thread was about who you would have taken at each spot. I would have gone with Johnny Newton in the first. He’s an impact DT who would start day 1. Then I’d have gone with Wilson in the second as a pure slot WR with Franklin in the third as a true X. Franklin is a bit of a boom or bust guy who is honestly more likely to bust than boom. Hell, Newton is boom or bust as well. I just think that it’s time for Beane to take a few swings at stars. Everyone here loves to criticize McDermott for not winning the big one, but this team is sorely lacking in true difference makers. It’s the GM’s job to find superstars, and it’s the coach’s job to coach up and scheme around the JAGs so that the superstars can do their thing. Beane swung for the fences with his first ever draft pick and hit it out of the park, and he’s proceeded to play small ball ever since then.

There’s no way to evaluate the outcome of the trade at this point because we don’t know what the players will turn out to be. You can, however, evaluate the methodology used to get to this point. The Chiefs gave up the draft value equivalent of a late 4th rounder to move up while the Bills gained that and a tiny bit more to move back ultimately to 32. It’s impossible to know for sure if Worthy would have been taken before the Chiefs were able to draft him, but we do know that he was the first WR taken in a run on WRs that saw 6 taken in the next 10 picks. Given that knowledge in hindsight, it was a smart move by Kansas City in terms of ensuring they got the one they wanted. Conversely, the Bills could have taken the 5th WR off the board at 28. Instead, they traded back to 33. 3 WRs were taken in that 5 pick window, and they wound up taking the 8th WR. Ultimately, it will depend on the players taken, but I understand why people would have strong opinions on how each team handled it.

Vegas has the O/U on yards for Diggs at 1050. There’s no line for Shakir. Do you think he exceeds that total?

In fairness, Kelvin Benjamin with work ethic would have been a hell of a player.

That’s a pretty big name. It would me major news.

Coleman’s 10 yard split was .05 seconds slower than Worthy’s. That’s half a yard difference. It doesn’t take a 40 yard go route for that difference in speed to manifest itself into something important.

Will Beane successfully move around on Day 3?
Billl replied to Beck Water's topic in The Stadium Wall
Then why in the world didn’t Beane trade all of this 5th round picks to move up? I guess I don’t understand your position. Do you really think there are no players left who will make NFL rosters or have solid careers? -

Still 5 of Daniel Jeremiah’s top 100 players on the board. -

Brugler is one of the most respected draft analysts in the business. If you don’t have his top overall Safety as a draftable player then you’re doing something wrong. Brenden Rice is still on the board, and that’s his 103rd overall player. Gabriel Murphy is his 127th overall, and he’s still available. -

Jaden Hicks was Brugler’s #1 Safety, 39th best player overall, and he went 133rd. There’s plenty of draftable players still out there. -
