  1. Man, posters are absolutely sleighing it with the reindeer puns. Well done boys and girls. (not kidding, btw)
  2. Mr V-P: I briefed you a couple times. You were a fair man, even though you didn't agree with me. However, I must say: "my life" is kinda pushing it. I heard it everywhere on the interwebs that, apparently, this is not true. Sincerely, that guy who warned you about a bunch of stuff that likely pissed you off.
  3. Perfect! Me, Hondo, et al could pull security, and light up any fans who decide to throw a shoe at 17. I keed, I keed...
  4. C'mon Spikes: I live vicariously thru the food thread!! Always makes me hungry.
  5. I might be off, but this was 17's best acting since the "Welcome back Canada" bit in, I believe, 2021(?). Actual football immaterial, no. I'm looking solely at star power on camera. Flame away boys.
  6. Don't get me wrong, this is a fair reply. But just on the punt return issue: from the limited media access, it looks like McD is setting up MH for punt return duty, at least for this week.
  7. Sidetrack: just for S&G, and because it's almost Vet Day (I'm not technically a vet): We used to have consistent heat indexes of 140 in IZ (no kidding), and I usually carried about 60+ lbs of gear, ammo incl. AFG was better. The poor bastard grunts would carry even more than that, day after day after day. Just un-freaking-believable. Studs all. Now, imagine @hondo in seattle, buttoned up in an armored box, w that kind of heat, and crazy winds, and god knows what. Cav rules. Bitching about it completed, lol.
  8. Absolutely true story, re the magnetic attraction of this team: Grad school, 92-94, Monterey CA. GF was a thru-and-thru CA girl; no attachment to Buf except via myself, as I would always take her to the sports bar at 1000 to watch the Bills. Anyway, 3Jan93, comeback game. After first half, I lost my sh*t and went upstairs in my flat. She, in huffy reply, said "I'm staying here to watch, bc I love this team." Wow. Anyway, second half, I could hear her yelling downstairs. She walked up to our room and said, w barely disguised anger: "get your ass down here, bc something is happening." Never will forget it, obviously. Next year, I did bring her to a home game in Dec. No kidding, fans around us were asking her, in good fun, "wtf, are you from CA or something?" Anyway, she went on to work for a 3-letter, where we would cross paths here and there...then she became a FT yoga instructor. Lesson kids: marry the girl who loves the Bills, works for the IC, and then teaches yoga. My bad.
  9. I wish I could give this multiple "awesome" responses. Good on ya brother. Really well done. I been there, after too many adventures overseas. This is truly inspiring: one of the great TBD posts ever. Thanks so much.
  10. Bills now #1 in ESPN power rankings. So we got that going for us.
  11. $10 water. Stetson. Epic pic. Priceless.
  12. BtK: very interesting insight. Most appreciated. Meanwhile: please post more often! A professional handicapper is profoundly interesting to me, and perhaps others here. LAMP-ish: I've personally been in many "challenging" life-death situations, but certain I couldn't be a professional gambler. Somehow, when actual, serious $$ involved...I would weep like a toddler.
  13. Absolutely agree. But, I humbly assert, the greatest LB name in CFB history is ND's Michael STONEBREAKER.
  14. Sorry, another reply. I'm familiar w this statistical analysis bc, overseas, we had many--smart people all--working to analyze the highest kinetic threats we should go after. Generally speaking, they used Complex Adaptive Systems as a base model, w statistical overlays, including page rank, though admittedly it was not fully comprehensible to me, and my particular group, bc we were just were dumb-ass mouth-breathers. I fully realize that the NFL, with recognizable rules, is not the same as modeling bad guys w (often) stochastic behaviors. But the results, w geniuses and every NTM available, and $billions, were... not quite as we had hoped. So, I guess, given the much stricter set of variables in the present NFL case, what are the identifiable weaknesses in these calculations? I only ask to understand how to assess this modelling w greater precision.
