You don’t factor in age when you’re talking about their play. I’d take Allen over Brees going forward because of age but that doesn’t make Allen more elite than Brees. Edmunds was a ProBowl alternate last year. That’s better than nothing, but he wasn’t voted as a starter.

Uh the best ILB in the game, Bobby Wagner? LVE? Edmunds is a fine young player with tremendous potential. I would be very comfortable saying he may make the Pro Bowl next year. But borderline elite? No way.

I agree with all of this. Beane is closer to a Whaley type GM right now. Has made some nice moves, found some hidden gems in the draft and good FA pickups, but is missing the signature pick. Has had his busts like all GM’s do. It’s funny, you could make the argument that pound for pound, McD was the one who orchestrated the best offseason when he was driving the whole ship. Acquiring Poyer, Hyde, White, Dawkins and Milano is a better group of players than either Beane or Whaley ever acquired. That may change as Edmunds, Oliver and most importantly Allen grow.

I actually have a different take. I think Brady was done after this year. I think he wanted the Pats to make a big move to try to win it all next year. I think BB, who isn’t stupid and probably isn’t retiring this year, thought about it and decided to not move around picks in a Win-Now mode with Brady on his way out and an aging Edelman after getting bounced in the WC round and being maybe the third or fourth best team in the AFC. This isn’t the year to go all in for the Pats. And that’s what Brady wants.

They don’t play the same position, but that’s nice I guess.

Hardman was a rookie last year. Cole and Brown are vets. Hardman has more upside than both.

Fournette is a decent player, but not a home run threat. He plays differently than Singletary but he’s similar in that he can get you a tough 4, but has much greater difficulty breaking a 60 yarder.

Stills and Fuller aren’t Thielen. Cole Beasley has had 3 games over 100 yards in two years. When Diggs is getting 10 targets a game, his numbers will likely go down, not up.

Buffalo making the playoffs again has upped their status tremendously. Look at Digg’s reaction to Shady’s for example upon being traded. Adding a Clowney, approaching Jerry about a little team friendly restructure, and we honestly are a Super Bowl contender. I believe that.

The upside is with them. Beasley and Brown are maxed out in terms of production. Both of their numbers will fall next year playing with Diggs.
