Of course he was drafted as a receiving threat. You don't take a TE in the first round to block (at least I hope they wouldn't). He's not going to be paid as a WR, he will be paid as a TE. Which is a good thing. The top 5 TE contracts in the NFL would be the 10th, 13th, 13th, 14th and 14th WR contracts TODAY. Those will all get bumped down a couple more places when JJ and Higgins and Chase get their long-term deals soon. That kind of highlights part of the reason why I'd like to draft more of them. If they hit and are a Pro-Bowler, you are getting tremendous value compared to their open market value. That's why the Eagles drafted two more this year while having AJ Brown and Smith under contract. Because they are valuable and it's not a bad thing to have 3-4 of them (see Trent Sherfield in the playoffs).

https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/_/id/4385690/dalton-kincaid DALTONKINCAID Bills #86 TE https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/K/KincDa00.htm Dalton Kincaid Position: TE What position does he play? WR or TE? You know what? Find me a source that says Dalton Kincaid plays WR and not TE. I’ll wait. The whole reason your point is so silly is because acquiring WR’s isn’t just about putting talent around Josh, it’s about recognizing that the WR market has completely exploded and these guys are going to get harder and harder to pay. It’s about recognizing the league value as a position. Kincaid isn’t going to get paid like a WR. Just like Kelce hasn’t. Because they are TE’s. Because they are “weapons.” Because they AREN’T WR’s, which is why I didn’t ***** mention them when talking about WR’s. FFS, annoying AND wrong is a dangerous combo.

Levis plays the exact opposite of Tannehill. Shocking comparison.
-
Yes they have. They have spent more on WR’s. That is what I said. You keep changing it to “weapons” (which I never said) so you can include Kincaid lmao. I thought we were making up our own arguments for the other person then knocking them down. Right? Water is wet! You’re wrong. Don’t get upset that I took your game and went pro.

We already have a QB. So I’m not really worried about drafting a worse one and paying him and starting him, right? What I do like is the Eagles’ approach to team building. Appropriately dedicating assets to WR (they just signed both their starters to long-term extensions and they still drafted 2 in the best WR draft in a while.) Emphasis on OL and disruptors on DL. Understanding the RB market and drafting a single RB above round 4 in the last 8 years. Not afraid to move around the draft board to target their players. You’re right, it could be all Roseman and maybe Halaby doesn’t have the same juice. But I much prefer that team building style (of a team that has gone to 2 SB’s and won 1), over the Carolina redux style (that went to 1 SB and got embarrassed because Cam was throwing to trash cans). I’m talking about WR’s. Jesus Christ lmao. This is getting sad. See I said: “The back to back champs have invested a lot more at WR than we have. Same with their opponents in the Super Bowl” and then you make your gibberish post about weapons. I didn’t say weapons. I said WR. Read the posts you’re responding to before you waste your time writing 3 paragraphs I’m not going to read. And CEH was a horrific pick. They certainly should have took Tee Higgins, which I said at the time. So good one?

The back to back champs have invested a lot more at WR than we have. Same with their opponents in the Super Bowl. And Kincaid isn’t Kelce 2.0 yet. Like I said, the fact that you have to include Kincaid in a discussion about the Bills WR investments is proof positive you have nothing here lmao. “We drafted Knox 4 years ago, how can you say we don’t invest enough in WR’s?”
-
I'm going to watch. But I'm also not going to bend over backward to defend BB as doing a great job. He has crossed the Rubicon for me. Who did we lose? Latty Murray? The 60th rusher in the league with 79 carries? We needed to spend a fourth on an RB for that? Ookay. Day 2 picks are bad investments for RB's. Singletary, Moss, and Cook were all day 2 picks. You are right that Davis was a fourth. "So in 3 of the past 5 drafts the Bills have invested a 2 first round picks and a 2nd round pick on a receiving weapon for Josh." If you think the Bills are investing enough in WR, there's really not much else to say lol. It speaks VOLUMES that you have to play pretend that Kincaid is a WR.

Deion Jones signed to 1-year deal per Schefter
FireChans replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
6 targets per game is 102 on the season. That would be 40th in the NFL last year. -
I don’t care about narratives, I care about reality. The REALITY is that our run game was good enough last season. The pass catchers were not. The REALITY is that EVERYONE knows day 2 picks on RBs is horrific value. Yet this regime has taken 4 in 6 years. The REALITY is this regime hadn’t drafted a WR in day 2 since Zay Jones 7 years ago. That’s ass backwards. This stuff is indefensible. It demonstrates a fundamental misunderstanding of positional value in the modern NFL. They are dinosaurs. Alec Halaby.

Pick Your Poison: What's Left at Outside WR in Free Agency
FireChans replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
I know this is news to Bills fans, but having 3 good WR’s to pair with your talented QB isn’t a problem. None of Chicago’s big 3 are available imo. -

Chicago just traded for Keenan Allen and traded for Moore just last year. you think either of them are now on the move? When they have a rookie QB to support? Dont see it, unless they take a page out of Beane’s book and actively avoid helping their QB.
