  1. Why don’t you just draft 2? There will be second round WR’s that could be late firsts in other years. That’s why I have no problem using a 2025 pick or two to move around a bit. The second most important position on offense is WR. We have the option to select two prospects that may have gone much higher next year. Would you trade a late second in 2025 to get a second round prospect in 2024 that would be a first round prospect in 2025? I think clearly, yes.
  2. Nick Wright has good takes for the most part, but when he gets really dumb is complaining media treatment of Patrick Mahomes and Josh. Very strawman BS type stuff. FtF has quickly become my favorite sports show. It’s actually pretty funny at spots.
  3. 100% he had to do media cover for him for like 2 seasons. probably doesn’t hate Diggs because guys don’t really do that in the league, but it had to be annoying
  4. Is there anything more maddeningly consistent that the NOLA boys @Kirby Jackson and @NoSaint being in love with making can’t guard Michael Thomas a thing? 2019 was a long time ago. Dude was molasses then. Now he’s geriatric.
  5. No one is arguing the Bills are going to make a deeper playoff run now. You are free to argue with yourself on that one.
  6. We aren’t talking about the playoffs, try to keep up.
  7. Feel free to look at his numbers after Denver. They were embarrassing.
  8. Shout out to this dude above who called it 2 months ago. an absolute tour du force of TBDing. This was my 13 seconds game as the QB, and it was some other posters who forgot to call a squib kick.
  9. DC’s weren’t sweating Diggs 40 YPG output near the end there. Sneed gets put on Diggs and erases him for 4 Q’s. He’s closer to an afterthought than you think.
  10. Nothing in football is guaranteed. Josh could break an ankle and we could win 2 games. ultimately, outside of health, here’s what I believe. Sean McD can coach defense in the regular season. Despite probably being an older team with some new faces on the backend at safety, imo it’s practically a guarantee we are a top tenish d at least. Josh Allen is still far and away the best QB in the division and the second best in the conference/NFL. Combine a top 2 QB and a top 10 defense and that’s a playoff team just about every year. That’s as close to a guarantee as you can get.
  11. Until BB goes DL DL in the first two rounds.
  12. Brandon Beane agrees that we’re probably a little worse talent wise, and would still prefer to pay an extra $3M to show Diggs the door. That’s enough for me to say good riddance.
  13. Because his agent is going to say, “he has no guaranteed money, he helped you get to the AFCCG and it’s good business to reward him by converting some of his base salary to guarantees.” Shady McCoy had no leverage and we ripped up his contract immediately to make him happy. They ultimately want to win. Sprinkling in some guarantees to keep Diggs happy while they try to win a SB in the next 2 years isn’t that crazy, even knowing his history.
  14. I’d argue we missed quite a beat last year and we still ended up the 2 seed. Team isn’t going to be as talented as it was the last 3 or 4 years. Doesn’t mean we can’t be the last team standing and it doesn’t mean we are going to go 6-9.
  15. the Miller contract was a risk, but it wasn’t one that I hated. Looks bad because it didn’t work. Beane has a habit of just missing out on making the right move, and doubling down to try to make it again later. He tried to trade for Sanders/Diggs and failed. He then traded for Diggs the next offseason and brought in Sanders a year later (when he was washed.) We were in the market for a big run stuffing Loutotototo who we grossly overpaid. Then chased DJ Reader and got outbid because we had the tub of goo already making too much money. We tried to be in on Von Miller when he got traded to the Rams and was huge in their ring run. (My hot take is if Beane had made that trade, 13 seconds never happens and we go to the SB). Of course, missed him and chases him in FA the next offseason. Day late and dollar short should be Beane’s nickname. He’s got good ideas, but we just can’t quite pull them off perfectly.
  16. Talk yo ***** son!
  17. If he plays well this season, particularly as the Texans work back Dell from injury, I could easily see them giving Diggs a 2-3 year functional extension while Stroud and Dell are on rookie deals. Structure Collins’ extension to be more up front until you have to extend Stroud and Tank, and jettison Diggs at that time.
  18. be on your best behavior for a season or two til they rip up your old deal that the old team half paid, and hit you with more guarantees. Diggs is probably gonna be one of the highest paid WR’s ever in a season or two.
  19. https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2877076-stefon-diggs-trade-rumors-odds-of-vikings-trading-star-wr-are-pretty-long.amp.html “NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported in October that Diggs' frustration with the Vikings was "palpable" to the point teammates wondered if he wanted to remain in Minnesota. Things eventually cooled down enough for Diggs to finish out the season. He turned in the most productive campaign of his career with 1,130 receiving yards, 17.9 yards per reception and six touchdowns. Diggs is entering the second season of a five-year contract extension he signed in July 2018. The Maryland alum will earn $10.9 million in base salary in 2020, per Spotrac.” It. Was. The. Minnesota. Playbook.
  20. I don’t think Brandon Beane had any intention of even considering trading Diggs up to the start of the 2023 season. I think Stefon Diggs clearly had different ideas. And that can’t be more obvious in hindsight today.
  21. The one area Beane 100% screwed up with was extending Diggs with 2 years on his deal. I think @BADOLBILZ said that it was something Beane has never done with any player in the org except Josh Allen? And I think Beane’s MO to other pending FA’s was that extensions weren’t on the table until approaching the final year of the current deal. It’s clear now that the extension was the way to try to get Diggs’ back in and win some goodwill. unfortunately, we are now paying a ton of that extension money, while Diggs hasn’t even finished his previous contract. When you play with a toxic WR, you get burned.
  22. This is why you shouldn’t take the board so seriously. If you can’t laugh at yourself for arguing adamantly for months about this for it to all come crashing down, what can I tell ya? Top 10 thread in TBD history
  23. I am legitimately not hurt by Diggs leaving. Loved when we got him. Loved that he helped turn Josh into a superstar. By the end, it was a bad relationship that everyone knew was doomed. No reason to be sad about it.
  24. I don’t care. Walk away with 2 in the first three rounds. Trade up down or sideways. two rookie WR’s who we won’t even be discussing extension with until 2026 is the way.
  25. This is a joke right? Diggs was acting up in TC this past year! He ran the Minnesota playbook to a T. He tweets cryptic ***** and acts out. This is how Beane knew he was available in Minnesota, and this is how teams knew he was gettable now. We need to stop deluding ourselves. This didn’t happen overnight. The whole cryptic tweet topic is a referendum on people who need to wake up. Maybe the guy who has now forced his way off two teams with weird comments and weird behavior DID IT ON PURPOSE.
