McDermott is feeling the pressure
FireChans replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm not bashing him. I don't think he made a crazy, ridiculous decision. It was just the trade that enabled KC to become a new dynasty that sends us home every year in the playoffs. I would still feel bad about it. Being the architect of your own destruction and all. -

McD probably really regrets trading the best QB in football to a conference rival and one of the greatest coaches in the NFL, moreso now that none of the yields of that trade are even on the roster. I would feel bad too. -
I have seen the Logan Wilson tackle on Mark Andrews cited as an example, but the NFL came out and said it WASN’T. This is gonna be a predictable disaster. And we will all keep watching lol.

He wasn’t under contract here.

The whole year? I don’t buy it. -

Yes. I have long argued AGAINST hiding rookie QB’s at all cost in the offense. I think it hinders development and props up young QB’s who suck and you just don’t know it yet. If Mac Jones was dropped into the 2018 Bills, we would’ve all known he was complete garbage after his rookie season. Instead, he got hidden on that ball control Pats team, won 10 games barely playing the position and they wasted 2 more years trying to recapture that magic before deciding that yeah, he sucks. -

Can’t wait to watch plays like DK Metcalf chasing down Buddha Baker be called “hip drop” personal fouls.

They both lose to Mahomes. Shanny is just lucky he doesn’t have to play them in the second round. -

And if he makes the Super Bowl and loses, you’re on record that’s good enough to not fire him? -

It worked. -
I think his injury was probably really scary. He certainly could’ve made a roster this year imo

I’d rather die in WNY than live in Cleveland. -

McDermott drafted and developed Josh Allen. His success is McD’s success. -
We have seen this happen before, it’s going to be a “point of emphasis” and will be called all the time, largely wrongly. @MJS do you remember the stupid “can’t put body weight” on the QB rule? The one that was a reactionary rule change because Rodgers broke his collarbone getting piled driver? They called it a bunch for two years, then the NFL community and refs realized how absolutely stupid it was and it’s basically never called now. This penalty will go the same way (if they even assess it as a penalty.) it will be a hot topic for 2 years, ruin a couple games, everyone will realize it’s dumb, and it will go away.

Ahh Terry is retaining the head coach who has the team in the divisional round of the playoffs every year as a minimum instead of turning the Bills into the dysfunctional garbage Sabres org with the constant hiring and firing. The humanity! -
I think it’s funny that the team that got embarrassed by the Bengals had better odds than the team that lost by a FG to the eventual SB champs. Just goes to show you.
-
It wasn’t dirty. Allen is a giant running full speed. If your QB is acting like a runner, he should be treated like a runner. Joey Bosa shouldn’t be forced to grab onto his hips and let him carry him forward 4 more yards for the first down.
-
Let him fall forward for the first down instead of preventing further yardage, obviously.
-
Very dumb. Tackling a guy from behind is simply “grab player, drag him down with your body weight.” So if the player is a 5’11 running back, and he’s grabbed by a humongous DT, he’s gonna get pulled backwards and roll. The only way to avoid that would be to let him fall forward and gain more yardage. Really stupid.

Does Josh Allen still work as hard in the offseason?
FireChans replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
It is hard to know if Josh is working “as hard” without much evidence besides a few snippets, my personal feelings aside. The real question is, does anyone think Josh has improved as a passer since 2020? -
The fun thing about football is you can have a worse team and still win the Superbowl. The greatest Pats team of the dynasty lost in the Superbowl. One of their worst teams of the dynasty won it in 2019. No one would ever argue that the 2019 team was better than the 2007 team. There's no reason to try to blind ourselves.

Anyone else feeling pretty good with the Bills?
