I agree with this, but in my mind home games are also less important than maintaining a fine edge in regards to timing and execution. Calling off the dogs like they did last weekend is not something they can keep doing and still expect to be at their best three weeks from now. The old adage "If you're not getting better, you're getting worse" became an old adage for a reason. It's one of the trickier balancing acts in sports, imo.

Agreed. I hope they really bring it on Sunday. At this point they are playing for a Super Bowl, so damn the torpedoes and full speed ahead.

This is a grave disservice to the actual owner of the title and I insist that you make amends by immediately imbibing in whatever substance you think appropriate for your sin.

I agree with this 1000%. It's liked their being trained to mercilessly hunt down infractions and encouraged to throw flags any time they think they might have seen something. The "indicators" they use are complete nonsense; not only is it an invitation to throw pointless flags because there might have been a penalty they didn't actually see, but guys know what they are and how to mimic them and manipulate officials into affecting games they have no business being a part of. It has honestly reached the point for me that there are times I just turn games off and don't even bother watching them any more because it is nothing more than kabuki theater being manufactured by a league that thinks fake drama is a substitute for the real thing. Hey NFL, you want drama? Get out of the way and let the greatest game in the world just be what made it so popular in the first place. Ad execs and bean counters have turned great entertainment into the faux show they know best.

Spencer Brown deserves his own thread.

If you're referring to me, you are being dishonest. I never once wanted to trade him and stated I clearly liked him and wanted him on the roster. I just wasn't confident he'd ever develop the footwork to play OT and I wanted to see what kind of a monster he would look like at RG. -
Cole Bishop should start the final two games of the Regular Season....

I'll see your 2 and raise it to 6. -
I think a lot of that perception comes from how ridiculous some of those occasional conversions are. Look at the one last week vs DET. They've got them locked up in 3rd/17 in their own end, about to get the ball back with a chance to put a 4th qrtr nail in the coffin. Suddenly you get a tipped ball that ends up going for a 60-70 yrd TD which puts the Lions right back in the game. Plays like that stand out and tend to skew reality, imo.

I actually thought Allen looked sick during the game, like he was trying to force himself to find energy when he it wasn't there naturally. He was also pale with dead eyes, which really made me wonder if the locker room got hit with something. And just for the record, it was not 20 degrees up there yesterday. It was single digits most of the game and by the 4th quarter the windchill was likely below zero. I was amused by the fact that nobody even really mentioned much about how cold it actually was. -
Can't argue wiht that; the guy was a total victim tonight. The only thing I know about him is that he has very unpleasant film room experience waiting for him at work this week.
-
He was a terror tonight; he embarrassed the RT all night long. That was the very best I have seen him moving since the injury.
-
I thought he threw some really good balls with people in his face, although the pressure did start getting to him later. His pocket presence is solid and if you ignore his feet, he can hurt you. My guess would be that he's probably going to be a problem in a couple years.

Taron as well possibly. I did not see him back on the field.
-
He was back in shortly after. I think he may have just needed a break from kicking Patriots' asses.
-
They called him for making contact with the receiver before the ball arrived. They never showed a good replay of it and I'm still not convinced the receiver wasn't jumping backwards due to his own momentum and Elam's tight coverage just made it look like he initiated contact.

Pretty cocky for a guy who is away from home in a storm with bad reception

I bet he's going to look better in the film room than he did on the TV camera

They went after him some early and had a little bit of success, not a lot. He really settled in as the game progressed and was holding up very well down the stretch, imo. -
There is no such penalty in the NFL. You can actually stick your hands in front of a guys eyes all you want to.

You're way more handsome than I expected for an old guy

That poor back who had to keep picking him up had to be getting sick of that pounding -

He was good under pressure, imo. Some of those blitzes did start to get into his head later in teh game though. -
