  1. Instead of more tax revenue, how about less government to spend the existing tax revenue?
  2. Go out to be seen, I've not put it that way before... I like that. It's the same way in Atlanta. You need to have your brand new car, your beamer, your designer clothes. God forbid a hair is out of place! I think that's a trait of larger metropolitan areas, though. I've been down here for eight years and I've just started to find people that are into the same type of stuff as I was back up north. Next weekend marks the only the second time in 8 years that I'll spend time in a tree stand. I used to call in sick every opening day ;-) The "normal" people exist, they're just more difficult to find. -Jeff
  3. I grew up in Orchard Park (I really have to call you on that Hamburg Hillbilly comment though... Collins? Yes. Hamburg? Nope.). I'd make the trek into the city for hockey games and concerts. That's about it. The city itself is crap. I got out when I could. That said, I miss everything that made it home. The food, the people, the traditions (who the hell knows what dingus day is down here? Going once? Going twice?), the countryside, the sports teams, the seasons, the winter (yes I miss it... skiing, snowmobiling...), the lake, everything. It's strange, but a lot of things that are commonplace up in WNY are just out of the ordinary anywhere else. That is what I miss. If the gang up there in NYS government ever figures things out, I'd move back. If that economy would start an upswing, I'd try my best to be part of it. But a Bass Pro Shop isn't the answer, it's an overhaul. I still don't understand why those same morons keep getting voted back in. I was up there for the Bills/Jets game.. I bumped into someone I knew everywhere I went. Now that's home.
  4. Nice. I go for anything potato based... baked potato, potato/cheese... and the standard Ceasar.
  5. Yet more reasons I don't want to live there until they figure out how to run the place. I miss WNY like you wouldn't believe, but for the love of all that is good.... they can't seem to do anything right.
  6. Nah, we'll still have the OT posts, just MORE football posts to offset 'em. One big happy OT family.
  7. Ahhh.... the beauty of being a Buffalo sports fan. One damn cup. One damn trophy. That's all I ask...
  8. They're nice shops. We've got one here off of I-85 near Atlanta. I love that place. Prices are high on some things, though. Box of Remington .30-06 165 grain will cost you $17.95 at BPS, but $14.95 at the local wally world. But then again, I bought my gun for $200 less than list there as well. They were selling the blued steel version for the same price as the stainless... -Jeff
  9. Turkey Rubbed in Brown Sugar, All Spice, Mace, Cloves, an Sea Salt. Cooked with Apples and Rosemary. The wife's making the mashed potatoes.
  10. Which team is our team? The one that's been playing like tonight's? Or the New England team...?
  11. It was right in front when you walk in. They have all of their holiday junk up and they had boxes upon boxes of this stuff....
  12. I was at a Publix supermarket today getting dinner and I noticed big bags of white fluff labeled "Buffalo Snow." Checked the label, place that shipped 'em is located right on Walden near Dick Rd. Stupid, yet funny. I should have bought a bag. -Jeff
  13. So, does ANYONE support Bledsoe anymore? A month ago, we had a nice mix of apologists.
  14. I think everyone realizes the "outrage" isn't simply about a naked back.
  15. Yay! It made CNN and now they're talking fines! http://www.cnn.com/2004/SHOWBIZ/TV/11/17/f...y.ap/index.html
  16. That's a great way to put it, really. While I could care less what they put on the tele, I still do respect those that do care. If people would spend less time bickering about why they're personally right and start respecting the views and values of others, we'd be in a lot better shape. Apply the concept to "real life" as well as TV. There are a lot of lines you wouldn't cross face-to-face. -Jeff
  17. Honestly, I don't give a rats ass whether they show it or not. I find the entire argument for or against it kind of humorous. I find the fact that we're four pages into an argument about a woman's naked back a tad bit funny. I just like stoking the fire of folks with extreme political beliefs. ;-) On one side it's the decline of our moral backbone. On the other side, it's a quest to halt the onslaught of the moral police. On my side, it's a stupid back. You just can't make stuff like this up. Perhaps we ought to pit both sides against each other in a massive flag football game. Winner gets to set censorship policy. -Jeff
  18. LOL... dude.. Now go do me a favor. Read your signature. Then read my post. Then read your signature.
  19. Steve, Steve, Steve.. you just don't get it, do you? Any pro-lifer will tell you, that this kind of thing just attacks the moral fiber of America. What if things like this become common place? Think about it, will you? Shows like Sesame Street portraying deviant sexual relationships to children, how awful! And that Oscar... the liberal media at work. They're training our children that it's OK to not contribute to society and live in a garbage can. I just don't get it, I really don't. This is the same media that STILL argues that racism is a powerful force in America. Look at Hootie, or for that matter... Bernie Mac. Successful black men. If they keep tooting the racism horn, we should just bomb them sons 'a bitches. Listen. We need to get back to a time where I can keep my hot-diddly-hand-guns on my hip should a bear attack my house. A time when I can smack the waitress at the local diner on the ass and smoke my cigar right there. All of this "new age" television is going to destroy our children.
  20. You know, I don't know ONE person that doesn't share this view in some respect. I don't know anyone who has said "The government really needs to watch what they put on TV, people shouldn't be able to watch that." Yet... Um.. Oh well.
  21. Damn straight. I loathe naked blonde girls. How dare they?
  22. I hear that, and probably the case. Perhaps they'll let him take a few snaps and bench him, not to shame him too much? Bah. Damn season. -Jeff
  23. Yeah, how's Simon treating 'em? I miss getting the post game radio like I did last week.
  24. Yes. But. It wasn't the gushing over the Pats it was the Brady love. Honestly.. did you catch that bit about how he doesn't feel like a good player if he blah blah blah? And JT's response, "How many QB's would say that?." And now, we'll go to another commentator who'll continue to talk about Brady! Ok JT, back to you, what's this about Brady saving the children?
