Driving into work this morning and listening to Atlanta talk radio. Of course the Braves loss last night was one of the big topics. They had some "fan opinions" on the air. I couldn't help but roll my eyes. Some of the quotes... "This is ridiculous. They go to the play offs every year and choke out in the first round!" "We just keep loosing. Fans deserve better than this." Listening to them complain.. they don't know how good they've got it! I understand how frustrating it is to loose in the playoffs year after year, but at the same time... we're just LOOSING! -Jeff

You don't. It's a catch-22. If we're still "in it" enough to care about the season, DB is doing a decent job. If we're so far out of it that MM has lost confidence in DB, it's not worth risking the injury. I'd say let him take a few meaningless 4th quarters during the last 4 games of the season if it gets that bad.

Yeah, but then there's THIS: http://www.buffalobills.com/history/Draft1998.jsp -
Yeah MDH.. they did good things, but remember, we still only had 10 offensive points. This thread breathes truth. Fact is this just *sucks* really bad. They're playing bad, they're not getting much better, and there's nothing we can do about it. On paper, TD looks to have put a *great* team together. Is it coaching still? Is it QB? Is it O-Line? Hell, the line is much better than last year. Fact is I don't care WHY anymore; just FIX IT. Folks, to put it into perspective, we've just about lived through the 80's again. Almost ten full years of mediocre football. Perhaps I ought to stop expecting K-Gun!

I don't blame Drew at all.... at the same time, if a QB scrambling for his life would put points on the board, I'm all for it.

It doesn't really piss me off, it just kind of brings me down. I see all of these fair weather cities (I live in Atlanta) winning games. The Falcons are still unbeaten for Christ's sake. Most of these fair weather towns that win... those fans aren't there during the off season and the down seasons... they show up with the team starts to win. Buffalo? That town BREATHES football. Some of the best fans in the league. It really would be nice to get a few winning seasons again. Bills fans deserve better than this.

I'm going to the show in Atlanta Nov 7th. Freaking concert prices are getting ridiculous... to the point of not worth going anymore. Guy I work with just forked over $200 for two freaking Van Halen seats. Nuts. I guess it's all those damn file sharing kids stealing all of the artists' profit, need to feed those kids, ya know...

Seinfeld sucked bad. Worse than that show with Susan Summers and all of those bastard kids. Really. Worst show ever. I don't understand why people like it, let alone tolerate it. -
How DARE you call them illegals? They're "undocumented workers" now, remember? This is one reason I favor a national sales tax. Let 'em in, they'll still pay like the rest of us.

I agree wholeheartedly. Prayer is a personal thing that helps see folks through (whether anyone is listening or not is a whole OTHER conversation) tough times. If saying a prayer helps a student through school, probably the most stressful situation for a child for a variety of reasons, I'm all for it. I'm not an overly religious individual myself, but there's no doubt others rely on it; I fully support that. As long as the schools don't outwardly endorse any specific religion, it's a good thing in my opinion. As teachers are authority figures, a teacher led prayer is effectively a school endorsement. Also... there are simply too many world religions to say any sort of a "generic" prayer. Let them organize themselves, let them use classrooms, let them do whatever they want. People put way to much stock in this. The chess club can use room 202 during off hours... the cheerleaders can use room 204 prior to class... the science club can use room 110 after school... why can't the Christian club or the Jewish club do the same thing? As long as they don't force you or your child, let them do it their way. Edit... I wouldn't want them to force any type of belief upon my children, religion is just an example of that. The school is there to relay what most people would call fact, not belief. Let those that believe the same gather, however. Edit again... (wow, lots of thoughts on this one I guess)... In general, religion isn't something I feel I need to protect my little girl from. I'm not much of a church-goer, but that doesn't mean I think it's a bad thing. I'll explain what I think to her as well as allow her to experience it herself, so she can make her own decisions when she's old enough. No sense in wasting my breath trying to squash what others are saying so long as I can explain it to her under my own watch. There are so many more things that are much more dangerous to worry about... political beliefs, drugs, school stress... -Jeff

I voted yes... with one caveat... just no school support. No prayer over the AM announcements. Kid wants to pray with friends in the hallway or a classroom? Sure thing!

Yeah, I caught it. Fans were bitching about a loss on one of 'em if I remember right... we dropped to a lowly 5-1. Ahhh... those were the days. C'mon guys! Win!

Yup, and you just can't beat those DoubleTree cookies! If I'm by myself, I do the DoubleTree. If I'm with the family, it's the Holiday Inn in Hamburg. Holiday is a bit more family friendly. I don't want my little one running around and making too much noise while surrounded with business travelers, they've got work to be doing. Holiday Inn is full of other families. Just something to think about if you're bringing family. -Jeff

[OT]Why do people drive like a$$holes!
mcjeff215 replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll let them in if traffic is heavy and they're legitimately stuck. Everyone knows how folks like to let people in when they put their signal on and do it the right way... That's one thing I do all the time. I make it a point to be courteous to other folks on the road. Wave 'em by, let 'em in... all that fun stuff. I'm convinced most people do, after all, no one has replied to this thread with "F 'em, I cut people off ALL THE TIME." Folks complain about Atlanta and DC all the time with regards to traffic. They're both bad, but the worst city I've been been subjected too was Colorado Springs. Even the surface street drivers were simply horrible. Cops need to start getting a bit hardcore about this stuff. Drivers have gone from good, to decent, to fairly bad. When I got my drivers license, I remember my father giving me the "now driving is a privilege, be sure to respect the...." speech. It's such a common place thing that no one gives it a second thought anymore. Probably a bad idea when you're barreling down pavement in a 2 ton coffin. My guess is because cars have become so comfortable and forgiving that drivers loose touch with the road. -Jeff -

I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE that. Yup, people do that all the time here. A variation on that that annoys me too is when I'm going down the expressway and get stuck behind someone slow, I put my blinker on to pass him, yet everyone coming up behind me cuts around and flies past me. Two more that just bun my arse... 1. Asses that fly up on the right as fast as possible when they see the "right lane ends" sign. 99.9% of the time they're on the phone. What's even worse is when they end up neck and neck with you and force you to hit your breaks to let them in just as the lane ends... 2. I'm back in school.... parking of course sucks, like every university in the country. I swear the 18 - 22 crowd is the worst.. we have these parking decks, the top three floors are always completley open, the bottom three usually packed tight. These moronic kids will CRAWL up the bottom three floors and WAIT for people to walk out of the stairwell and to their car so they can get a better space... they'll even hold traffic up for 2 - 3 minutes at a time doing this. It's not unheard of to have a line of 10 - 15 cars crawling up the freaking deck ALL doing this. What the hell? Go to the top. Park. Done! The need to raise that driving age to 25, I swear it! -Jeff -
