Sniff Sniff...14 years ago today
mcjeff215 replied to Thailog80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I remember watching everyone walking home from the game/back to their cars walking past my house with big pieces of NFL goalpost over their shoulders. -
Tom Donahoe says decision on Drew...
mcjeff215 replied to theesir's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You do realize that the San Fran game was against... San Francisco? I'd expect RJ and Todd Collins both to rate over 100 in a game against them. Forget the San Francisco game. Step back and look at the other games we've played against decent teams. I really like DB, he's a class act. But I can think of a few situations this past year where if he was just a bit more mobile, or perhaps had a bit more pocket presence, we would have left with a W - or at least been IN THE POSITION to leave with a W. That nail in the coffin against NE, to name one. -Jeff -
Yeah, and they try to dodge rain drops.

I used to drive past the Ralph every day on my way to work. Yes, some people showed up on Wed, but the RV's really don't start pouring in until Friday afternoon/evening. RV/Bus lot is on Abbott, on the stadium side. I miss that damn town. -Jeff

(OT) Can you "add" Bluetooth to a cell
mcjeff215 replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As far as I know, no. If there was, chances are it would be an add on available from Nokia and would jack right into your phone's data port... and if you were going to plug in something, it might as well be your headphones. -
No no, don't get me wrong - you want to quit! Just as a bit of friendly advice, pay attention to the scale. It's not difficult if you pay attention, it's a B word if you let it go. -Jeff

(OT) How do you NOT notice a nail in the brain?
mcjeff215 replied to Fezmid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Point...... So: He fired the gun to close to his head like a moron, probably all sideways... puts a nail into his face. He doesn't realize the extent of the damage, he thinks he just screwed up and whacked himself in the face with it. It hurts like a B word at first and his mouth bleeds... figures he just screwed his tooth all up. Doesn't realize that the weird feeling in the roof of his mouth is a nail and not a broken tooth (did he break a tooth?). Since he has no health insurance, he tries to get the pain to go away by itself for the next week... it doesn't - only gets worse - so he goes to the dentist out-of-pocket to get the accident taken care of. "You sir, have a nail in your face. You sir, are a moron." -Jeff (I don't get it either... just having some morbid fun with it I guess) Edit... then again, that X-ray doesn't look like he screwed any teeth up. He's a certified moron. -
Right, I remember that now. You asked for advice here and a bunch of us replied with, "buy a crate." You didn't take that too kindly, if I remember right. =) As long as it's the dog's "happy place", it's a good thing. I keep the dogs in 'em when we're out, when we're asleep, few other occasions. Most of the time that's where they'll be sleeping anyways. "Go home, guys!" ...and they all run into their crates. Kind of a funny sight. Best advice I can give is to pick up a book on it. I'm sure the lot of us could ramble off junk for the next two hours. If they DO go in their crate, you've bought one that's too large. -Jeff

I was just going to say that. Get a hold of it NOW before you're 50lbs over weight like a lot of ex-smokers. Before I quit smoking I was 185, now I'm somewhere just under 230. Worst part is you won't even notice the pounds creeping on. -Jeff

Supposed to be at work but my little girl has been barfing all night so I took the day off to help out Her and Momma. I would have said I was sick anyways. There's always a parade today right near where I work and it messes up traffic something awful. -Jeff

I'd vote shock. Probably thought he smacked himself in the face with it and that's that. Body went into a mild shock. You can impale yourself with a pipe and not feel it due to shock. I'm sure he smacked himself in the face with it and his lip bled. Thought that was the extent of it. Toothache started up, which he assumed was a direct result of the impact. That whole "happy, although I've 100,000 in medical bills and no insurance" drives me crazy, though! Thanks for the rising healthcare rates, pole smoker! -Jeff -
Revised Super Bowl predictions! Final say.
mcjeff215 replied to Grant's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I second that. I live just north of Atlanta, if the Falcons win it all, it's really going to be weird... I could care less about the Falcons. All the "home town team wins it all" BS might just drive me to drinking! -Jeff -

It's still better than half the crap most college students turn in I think. -
Yeah I second that!!! Exactly what I needed while trying to dump about 50 pounds! I second the running, it's a must! Although I top out at about 3 now, usually hit about 2.

[OT] Will some gun owners never learn?
mcjeff215 replied to LabattBlue's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
This is the most absurd response I've read yet. Silly Steve, they teach us all to shoot like that in Conservative School. What a load of off-base assumption. -

I really try and avoid arguments like this one, but your reoccurring stereotyping of those of us that own firearms is getting more than a tad redundant. This is really turning out to be a polarizing topic. We're not waiting for the "invasion", we're not polishing our barrels in preparation for the Government take-over, we're not shooting at beer cans in the front yard while the Mrs nurses the 7 year old. I find it simply insulting that you'd state that the Right to Bear Arms is outdated. The only reason gun advocates need to refer to the second amendment time and time again is because of those of you who act on pure emotion. If it may hurt, ban it, right? Keep the "common good" in mind at all times. Legislate our way to safety. Yeah. That's the ticket. I have kids. I own firearms. They're not mutually exclusive. My kid does not know better. My nephews do not know better. I wouldn't risk it if I believed they did. Hell, in my opinion, most grown men do not know better. It is the responsibility of the gun owner to assume that no one "knows better." Any less is negligence. I do not refer to my guns as self defense tools. In my book, they are sporting equipment. But regardless, for you to sit there and consider me irresponsible because I am a gun owner and have a child - that's one of the most self righteous attitudes I've ever been exposed to. You have no idea how to raise a child, or for that matter, deal with firearms. Don't sit there and pretend you know better, it makes you sound like a Berkeley freshman. -
What's cool is the sub $500 Macintosh. No more, "I like Mac OS X but they're just too expensive!" Steve Jobs will show me the future and I will pay him to do so. Steve Jobs will show me the future and I will pay him to do so. Steve Jobs will show me the future and I will pay him to do so. Brains.... brains....

Yeah, moon 'em. It's funny. Jets busses were pulling out while I was at my last game and you could year "F&*k You!", "You SUCK!", etc.. echoing down Big Tree. (My buddy's wife was one of those that yelled.. funny stuff). -Jeff

232 as of my last weigh in. My target is about the same, 195ish. I want to break the 200's. I was down to 209, but most of it came back. Post updates, lets see if we can't make a "game" of this. -Jeff
