  1. Yes went back to watch some of last years game... 1. we did stay in our "base" 4-3 defense alot...good call on Zo. Yeah will be interesting if we go with Klein or stay in nickle with Taron. 2. Tremaine played a real great game, physical downhill tackling. 3. We blitzed Lamar quite a bit on 3rd downs, primarily to take away rushing lanes IMO 4. Star did play well too, im a bit worried about getting pushed around in the middle. Our 5 man rotation needs to step up 5. Bmore runs a ton of cover 0, Josh needed to put some more touch on his deep passes. At least try to draw interference 6. Motor was a beast. I know Bmore added some studs to that front, so I don't expect t to be able to run like we did. I'm all for getting our RBs involved in thr passing game 7. We need to score early. Its been mentioned, but make Lamar come from behind. 8. Give Smoke 2-3 deep ball shots. We tried to connect with him and Foster last yr, just 1 connection might change that defensive aggressiveness
  2. I dont recall Zo subbing at all for Taron or any other CB against Bmore last season. I think we played him at DE a bit more than usual that game, but also he played at a 3-technique on passing 3rd down situations...I'd have to go rewatch
  3. Many have said this, but biggest priority is pass protection and Yeldon brings that plus a bit more in the pass.game than Moss did (likely more than Williams too). We lose a bruiser type runner, might hurt us at the goalline but think we just use Josh. Otherwise Williams is a big wildcard in pass pro. Only the coaches know how he's acclimated to this in practice, but is often a difficult trait/skill for rookies to grasp
  4. Yeldon was specifically signed for this reason... He is a solid 3rd down back, great size/hands/pass blocking for a RB. It will be interesting tho with short yardage running...this might be the week we finally dress 4 RBs. Not sure who wouldn't dress tho...unless they think Taiwan is replaceable on Teams with another gunner
  5. I will be shocked if Ben turns down his $40m due next season. Ben will be back, but that team will look a lot different with some key FAs that won't be able to be re-signed. Colbert will need a top tier draft class
  6. Agreed. Not sure why ppl think Cleveland is some fluke...I know we all can't stand Baker but that is a talented team with a good head coach finally
  7. Everyone discounted Cleveland....I mean they were a few plays from being 13-3 themselves. With 2 all pro lineman, and battling COVID issues. They and Ravens are in the same class, imo. Both well coached with a lot of talent
  8. My take.... 1. always challenging to beat the same team in the same season...familiarity, understanding what worked/what didn't 2. rather not play a defense capable of shutting us down, on the flip side also would not.like to play a potent offense All that said. The team who scares me the most is Bmore. They are our worst match-up for our offensive style. They also are hot right now on offense. Then avoid Pittsburgh. They are getting healthy on defense and offense (Haden, Williams, Spillane) all back on defense then they get a starting OL back with Feller. I would like a rematch with the Titans. I think we can score on them, and had so many defensive injuries the first match-up that we can contain them enough. So let's go Titan early, and hope for a huge upset with the Brownies
  9. This might go down as WORST topic/post of the year by the original poster... Some ppl just don't know what they are watching
  10. Clueless....really glad your armchair comments are just that. Klein is NOT in the same stratosphere to Milano in coverage. Blitzing yes, similar, but we aren't blitzing Milano every playa nd you give away our plan if Klein is out there just to blitz. Of all the comments you made above, your lack of knowledge really shines through in the Doyle TD comment. Milano was in his zone, Bills were in a cover 3 or cover 4 and it was likely Tre White who got out of position. Go listen to the Milano post game presser and you will hear him say there was a communication breakdown.
  11. Colts were man to man alot with 4 man dline. Just like when Josh ran to the 5 yard line at the end of 1st half then finished the drive with a RPO rushing Td. Colts were a very well coached defense and had good talent. They ranked ahead of us on defense by most analytics. Bottom line is our 1st half starting field position was horrid. Cant scheme much when you start at your 5 or 10 yrd line
  12. Well obviously field position in the 1st half hampered the offense. Overall, I can't complain too much. There were 2 drives that we could have tried to throw instead of run/use Josh as our RB. But we overall played well offense, Davis with some huge catches but Josh took a bad sack then fumbled. Colts have a solid team, solid defense. They were a few plays from being 12-4 or 13-3. I'm not giving the offense or Daboll an A rating, but they didn't turn it over and managed some long scoring drives. its the playoffs, this was a solid effort vs a very talented/coached defense
  13. 1st 5 seconds dang....just love McDermott's emotion. Humble and Hungry, heck of a win boys! Can't wait, hopeful to attend division round game....yes, I'll be loud never worry about that...in my 30s and will ball out in the stands for my team
  14. Honestly, Yeldon should be the choice, but but Williams is a Moss clone...so should be an interesting choice. Yeldon will likely win out with experience on his side
  15. Lots of credit due, and blame to go around....but all I gotta day is... Gabe Davis! Yeah Josh played real well, Diggs had a game. But if not for some great clutch catches this might be a different ending. Everyone calling for Stills over Davis, wassup? Then Bass, man what a clutch kick. Rookie came through, shining bright!
  16. Well 1st playoff win for 25 years doesn't feel like a win to u...not sure what to say Go cheer for someone else I guess....ill. e sure to soak this in, u go stress about TEs
  17. Agreed...that is a top flight o line
  18. Points, be nice to get a td, but great play by indy
  19. I'd call that very fortunate, now is the time to put the pedal down with lead. Need to.keep.scoring each drive, and put pressure on Colts to go 1 dimesional
  20. Think he meant at homr, but not 100% sure
  21. Duke won't dress, bank on it. Diggs, Brown, Beas, Davis, Isiah, and Roberts. then Gilliam is back, to go with Rambo and Lee. Kroft won't dress. And btw, please show me or inform when the Bills ran any 5 WR sets this entire season....yeah def not a few plays all year, let alone 1 game
  22. Duke sits, both he and Devey are insurance. Beas will be active
  23. Regarding Colts match-up, few things stood out to me while watching their games this season: 1. OL: even with some big injuries, they have a really good.group up front. They are athletic and solid at power/pull plays in space 2. Rbs: this might be the most underrated duo in the league, imo, they are top 5. Taylor is a strong/fast back, Hines is shifty and quick as heck (reminds me of Sproles type in that offense) 3. passing attack: rhey can be very horizontal, bubble screens/tunnel screens, but also execute crossing patterns very well. What to attack when Bills on defense: 1. Rivers is so dangerous reading defenses, but think we need to continue blitzing up the middle 2. Jam the Wrs: mix up the cover 2, bc we need our corners to support the quick check downs and not rely on Edmunds (or even Milano) covering Hines. 3. Steelers switched their defense to play a "robber" ( Minkah free.roam as a intermediate middle zone) i. the 2md half and shut down the screen/Wr drags. 4. Make Rivers beat us over the top 5. I dont mind seeing Norman, more physical corner outside this week. That or Wallace better bring his a-game tackling. It will be a physical match-up 6. Go for the ball on Taylor. Dating back to his days at Wisconsin, JT has had fumble issues crop up...be big if we could force a key turnover. Id study the heck out of what Pittsburgh did in the 2nd half (both offense and defense). Ben flipped a switch being more aggressive downfield and drew some big pass interference penalties. Houston, even though they dropped both games, had big success moving the ball on the Colts too.
  24. Sorry to hear about your father, and uncles condition. Haha, I remember the old school AM radio...trying to find Bills games, I was super pumped anytime Bills had a primeitme or national game back then. Go Bills!
  25. Hearing those names are an awesome blast from the past. Bills, Pirates, Penguins fan here...yeah super weird combo. Local Pitt kid who had ties to the Kelly family, hence Bills fan. Early 90s were certainly awesome, as a kid growing up and those 3 teams were killing it. Pens: slippery rock joe, super Mario, jagr, Francis, stevens, Barasso, etc etc...stacked teams Pirates: Bobby Bo, Andy Van Slyke (still have the pirates 3 rivers announcer in my head saying his name), Barry (before juicing)...that was a stacked outfield, to go with great pitching and defense Fun times going down memory lane 😁. Cant say I envision the Pirates ever returning to glory under Nutting. Then of course most kids (sorry about Knicks 😁) were bandwagon Bulls fans too, MJ Scottie BJ armstrong etc. Good luck to your Buckeyes!
