  1. McKenzie is a decent gadget guy, that’s it. He’s not a good slot.
  2. I agree. I can’t for the life of me figure out how McKenzie continues to get opportunities with this team. I hated the off-season extension because I thought there was an obvious need to upgrade. I think Beane and McD need to stop with this “great locker room guy” BS and start getting better players for the offense. We have the leaders in the locker room that can handle a more volatile personality.
  3. Nobody is giving up on him. Good grief. Some of us just see him as more of a 4 than a 2. He hasn’t stepped up his current role. He was REALLY good as a 4, though.
  4. I totally agree with all this. We hedged our bets that Davis would take a huge step and he hasn’t been consistent enough to feel he can be our 2. McKenzie is awful. They didn’t do enough to surround Allen this off-season. They need an offense heavy off-season to balance out this roster.
  5. I agree. I think Shakir is our future at slot and I’m good with that. He’s way more physical and gets YAC. He catches contested balls too. It’s really tough to see McKenzie out there and Shakir riding pine. I also think we need to take a WR high in the draft this year. I can’t imagine that they’ve seen enough from Davis to think he’s the undisputed 2 and I highly doubt they pay him after next year. Time to hedge bets and bring in competition and have a solid 2 waiting in the wings. Imo, Davis is a great 4, and an average 2.
  6. Totally agree. Davis hasn’t really stepped up the way we all hoped he would. He’s been decent at times and other times he’s been pretty bad. We still need to upgrade at WR. Agree with this. Likable guy but not a good football player. I think too many fans give him a pass because he is so likable and has a catchy nickname. The production just isn’t there…
  7. Do they? I’m not so sure with McD. He seems to continually find ways to let teams back in games. We just don’t put teams away and it bites us a lot of times. I’ve seen way too many games where Allen was lights out in the first half and then we come out flat and conservative in the second half. You’re right though…he lost a lot of my faith in that 13 second debacle. I’ve never lost faith in Allen. Never. I was supporting him his rookie year when most (maybe even you) were crucifying him mercilessly. McD is a different story. I lost a lot of faith in him after 13 seconds. It was a nightmare and couldn’t have been botched worse. That’s on him and I’ve been super critical of him.
  8. Instant gratification? This is year 6 for McD and year 5 for Allen. Instant gratification went bye bye 3 or 4 years ago…
  9. Tupac “Shakur”? Or Khalil “Shakir”. Please clear the air…
  10. Always hated these arguments. There is NO reason to think the same thing would have happened if he was here.
  11. So your solution is to continue to invest heavily in dline and hoping we “get it right”. In the meantime, what do we do about the offensive line and WR corp?
  12. Agree. To me this is a similar situation that happened with Derrick rose in the nba. He was elite and an mvp and then he hurt his knee. Got cleared and still sat out. He was never the same player. I think we might need to get used to that possibly being the reality with white.
  13. That’s a good point too and I agree. The entire offense needs looked at this off-season. I can’t stand the “rankings” argument. We had the number one defense last year and all anyone said in the off-season is it was misleading. Well…the offensive ranking this season is very misleading as well. We need upgrades before we waste Allen and Diggs. Good points.
  14. Allen presses because he lacks playmakers on his side of the ball. Diggs is elite but no one else is anywhere close.
  15. The part about being happy that we threw nearly every resource into the defense and you still want more. Meanwhile…the offense is patched together at best.
  16. We had more talent at WR last year. Sanders was still very much serviceable and Beasley was an upgrade over our current slot situation.
  17. Is this sarcasm? Please tell me it’s sarcasm.
  18. Completely agree. Most fans want to talk themselves into thinking Davis is a true WR2. He’s not. Joe Marino said it best when he said that he was better as a WR4 or 5. He’s a very solid player, but he doesn’t run good routes if he can’t get vertical. We definitely need to upgrade there this off-season. I can’t see us paying Davis once his rookie deal is up.
  19. One of the biggest scoring offenses because of Allen. Without Allen, this is an average offense. My point is that other than Diggs, not much has been done on that side of the ball. A handful of mid round picks and some aging FA’s? Sure. But nothing compared to what gets put into the defense.
  20. Or…maybe you will find fault in anything i say for some reason.
  21. Cmon man…you know McD doesn’t give a single crap about offense.
  22. Maybe a bit harsh, but I also think he’s not as good as we all hoped he was.
  23. We have had our differences, but this is an awesome post. Completely agree and couldn’t have said it better myself. Digg is elite. End of story. David is a JAG. His route tree looks like a totem pole. I say let him play out his rookie deal and draft a high WR this year to replace him in a couple years. Mckenzie sucks. Period. Knox is an anomaly. On one hand, he has elite traits, but the other he just can’t put it all together. Hoping he finds the mojo he had last year. Shakir can be something I think. He can make tough catches and seems to have a good route tree, compared to Davis. He is good at YAC too.
  24. One trick pony? Doesn’t make him an elite player.
