  1. I’m also a fan of quality over quantity. The NFL just doesn’t have enough quality across the board to make every game interesting. Look at wild card games right now, you’ll see there are always several duds on wild card weekend. Several team always “sneak in”, and are nowhere close to the teams who have the bye week. I have no desire to watch additional lower quality football. Exactly, and that’s the issue with this cash grab. I’m glad I didn’t watch Mason Rudolph or that Duck clown in the playoffs.
  2. I think Beane is too smart to go all in with huge amounts of cash on one player. I’m not a fan of spending big bucks on top free agents, unless you literally have every other piece in place. Even in that rare circumstance, many teams have invested greatly in one player, only to find out he wasn’t the missing piece. Build through the draft, and make smart free agent singings. Only teams with an elite QB should ever dabble in the world of big money free agency imo.
  3. I mostly agree, that’s why I’m saying I really don’t care to pick sides. The situation should have never occurred, and that’s all there is to it.
  4. Behavior isn’t justified, I’m just saying I’m not going to call Rudolph a racist, or Garrett a liar when in reality I don’t know what happened. I just find it funny how 99.9% of people take one of those two positions. I take the position that I have no clue what happened. I’m just commenting to society/media’s need to choose sides in everything. It’s fair to state an opinion there was no place in football for that, because that’s a more informed opinion.
  5. I don’t know either guy, but it’s really between them. I have no need to pick a side on something I know nothing about. Stuff like this just works perfectly in a culture where everyone needs to pick sides on everything, and the media keeps fanning the flames.
  6. Bingo, autographs and merch would be enough to sway many. Maybe he got Mom’s number too, the whole thing sounds trashy enough to go full on Springer.
  7. I think you’re overrating many parents these days. They very well might be.
  8. This isn’t really one head scratcher, but a combination of events during the drought. The front office inability to assess QB’s was terrible during that time. I understand, it isn’t easy to find a franchise QB in the draft, but we stuck with guys far too long who had little potential. I can’t believe anyone ever considered Losman, Edwards, and Fitz as long term solutions. We wasted lots of time and resources on those guys. Additionally, simply drafting Manuel in the first round was a pathetic move.
  9. I can’t believe how many of these dudes get married so young, like Mayfield at 24. That just seems really dumb for these young rich guys, I’ll never understand it.
  10. We need a receiver, but to say we are, “one receiver away from having one of the top offenses in the league” isn’t true. We need to build this offensive line to be a real contender. However, maybe signing a decent free agent WR would free up our draft picks to devote them to building the line.
  11. My wife who knows nothing about football commented that he plays soft. She noticed him frequently running out of bounds before contact losing additional yardage, and not always putting effort into his routes. A guy having a couple big days in that KC offense doesn’t impress me that much. He just happened to pick the postseason to have those big games. Watkins has all the talent in the world, but I question if the “extraterrestrial being” or whatever he claims to be is fully devoted to the game. This^ he’s a decent player to have, but isn’t worth that contract. He needed to be in the same class as Hill, and Kelce to justify it.
  12. Comparing John Brown’s toe drag to Sammy running past defenders in that offense is comparing apples to oranges. Brown failed on that play no question, but playing with Mahomes, Hill, and Kelce is different than Allen, Beasley, and Stonehand Knox. Sammy is given far more opportunity to step up than Brown. Sammy had an average season, and is a talented WR who puts up average numbers. He’s like the Nick Foles of WR’s. I’ll take him in the playoffs, but wouldn’t depend on him being the leading WR during the regular season. He’s just an expensive number two WR.
  13. That’s great, I give him credit for that, but he’s not a number one WR who a team can ride to the playoffs. The dude is a playmaker who disappears more often than not. He has played with heart and effort during the playoffs that he lacks during the regular season. He had 3 TD’s this season, that isn’t a number one. Hill and Kelce are the receivers who got this team to the playoffs, Sammy happens to be the one who stepped up during the playoffs.
  14. This^ Sammy had a great Super Bowl, but between injuries and lack of productivity (3 TD’s in week 1, with none the rest of the regular season), Sammy wouldn’t have had the chance to shine without his team carrying him. Hill and Kelce carried them to the postseason, and Sammy happened to step up at the right time. Take away Mahomes, Hill and Kelce, and who knows where that team would have been. Sammy played well, but take away all the other weapons leaving Mahomes with just Watkins as the number one, and I doubt they have the second seed in the AFC.
  15. He wasn’t great the entire evening, but he willed his team to victory. If Tom Brady has that same performance in a Super Bowl, everyone is talking about his greatness.
  16. Yep, and Hill isn’t bailing him out by making plays he normally does.
  17. Mahomes need to get his emotions under control, and settle down on this series.
  18. Maybe, but I’m talking about the Chiefs offense crapping the bed. None of their playmakers are making plays, and they’re making errors they haven’t made all season. That’s what reminds of the Bills in the Super Bowl.
  19. This really does remind me of a Bills Super Bowl, with the Chiefs playing the role of the Bills.
  20. We need to improve the line on both sides of the ball. The SF O line has been the story of this game so far imo.
  21. Hill and Kelce both do that all the time. Luckily, the offense is so talented they are usually able to overcome it.
  22. He’s getting frustrated imo. They aren’t getting the big plays they’re used to, and he tired to force it on third and long. It usually comes so easy for them on offense, it’s easy to understand falling into that trap.
  23. Definitely OPI by the letter of law, but I’m not calling it in the big game. Kittle had his defender beat, and I don’t think the push off prevented the D from making a play. I’m only calling PI in the Super Bowl if it definitively prevents a play from being made.
