The Washington franchise is a mess, but you’ve got to give Rivera credit for this team always giving strong effort.

Josh’s goal line fumble was ugly, but he also put up the type of numbers Bills fans could only dream about for decades. This scheme has caused Hail Murray, 13 Seconds, and today’s debacle. I’m sure there’s more I’m missing, but my point is that we’ve lost multiple once in a lifetime games. It’s not coincidental that it happened to the same coaching staff.

The 80 yard touchdown run was inexcusable. You can’t give up that type of play on the ground with a lead. If the opponent is going to run, at least make them use up some clock. The defense is quite depleted, but we constantly give up big runs. It reminded me of the long run Taylor had for the Colts when we got crushed at home last season. Being dominated by the run and giving up long runs has been a theme, regardless of who’s on the field. That’s a scheme/coaching issue imo.

I think the offense gets complacent when they go into the locker room with the lead. The defense melts down because Frazier becomes even more conservative. The talk is all about coaching and Allen, but the lack of an aggressive defense scheme really holds this team back at the worst possible moments. I don’t think Allen will be the reason we don’t win a title, it’d be this defense playing afraid in the playoffs.

I think McD is phenomenal, but always thought the way this coaching staff utilize certain players is a weak spot. I remember when Mike Tolbert was given carries. They seem to fall in love with certain guys, while never giving certain younger players and acquisitions enough opportunities to prove themselves. Allen and Diggs hide the fact that we need more contributors, and the importance of putting the right guys on the field.

I took it easy on coaching in the game day thread. It’s not their fault Allen fumbled in his own end zone. Allen needs to do better overall. With that said, this team goes into prolonged funks every season. You can’t secure home field, or be the best that way. That’s on coaching imo

We couldn’t stop Jefferson. They have the ball with thirty some seconds and one timeout. I don’t like those odds. The most likely result of the QB sneak should be picking up a yard or at least a few inches. A safety or TD shouldn’t be very likely. This o line can’t run sneaks, haven’t been able to for a few years. Taking that into account, you are right.

So give Vikings the ball with a field goal that wins, over 40 seconds and one timeout? I don’t get this take from so many people.

Franchise QB needs to secure the ball. I don’t get the McD haters.

I get the idea, but it’s probably the worst time to get a struggling run game going. Taking away the threat of Allen is going to make running all the more difficult.

Davis, he doesn’t look good doing anything besides catching deep passes. I’m more conflicted on Knox. He’s flashed potential ever since joining this team, and looks the part. I’m not convinced he’s given an adequate opportunity to show much. There isn’t enough for me to asses. Allen can’t force passes to Knox, but it seems like this team doesn’t use the tight end position as a safety valve like most modern offenses. There’s no emphasis on getting the ball to Knox.

I was out when McD was compared to James Franklin 😆 I get the comparison, but McD is a solid coach, and a great guy. Franklin is a mediocre coach, and questionable character. McD shows some glaring weaknesses at times, but there’s no reason he can’t win a title. It’s up to the players to perform as well.

Worst QB in the ACC is quite bold. The entire conference is garbage.

Josh and the team as a whole has done this the past several years. Allen continues to look unstoppable during big moments. He’s a beast during the playoffs, against KC, and most prime time games. Ugly losses happened against Jacksonville last year, and now in the Meadowlands this season. The type of game us fans would be complacent about. Allen and this team play up and down to their competition at times. I think we’ll be fine because Allen should be unstoppable in the playoffs, but we can’t lose too many games without jeopardizing home field.

We need to stop using Josh as a substitute for a decent running back, I’ll tell you that much. Coaching leans on Allen’s running ability as a crutch when the offense struggles. I’m not convinced that Allen being used extensively as runner doesn’t throw off the passing game. Improvisational scrambles are a different beast that I don’t believe hurts his game. I’d love to see us win more regular season games with Allen in the pocket. He has an elite arm, I realize that’s taking away part of his game, but also can’t name a Super Bowl winning team who relied heavily on their QB as a runner. It’s not going to end well if they don’t use him more sparingly in the run game.

I think McD is too stubborn when it comes to playing rookies. Shakir needs to take over the slot role. McKenzie is a gadget player, and the experiment needs to end. Shakir might not be the guy, but we need to find out.

I don’t really understand the Allen hot takes. I think we need to realize he’s basically a better version of Brett Favre. He’s incredible and capable of winning a title, but can mysteriously look awful at times.

Is it just me, or do the Bills play a terrible game in early November every season?
