A Different Vibe from McDermott
Ethan in Cleveland replied to PoundingDog's topic in The Stadium Wall
Three years ago when I said the same thing and it was 90% negative emoji. Now its at least 50/50. The fan base is getting more restless every year. Nothing would make me happier than to see McDermott lift the trophy this year. -
Folks lets get the terminology correct, elevations from the PS are for game day only. They are typically announced at the same time the game day inactives are announced. They have to be announced 90 min before gametime. They return to the PS after the game. Max of 3 elevations per season until the playoffs when it is unlimited. QBs have no limit. Otherwise players are signed and released from the active 53 roster. When they are released they would need to be signed to the PS again if they want to, but if waiver wire eligible they would need to pass waivers.

What’s your favorite Bills opening day game?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was at that game with my boys. Flew in that morning from Portland, went to the game, and flew home that night. Epic experience!!! -
I think Moore and Samuel are interchangeable with complimentary negatives. Samuel can't stay healthy and Moore can't be consistent. Give it a few games and see what shakes out. My hunch is Moore makes a few plays and McD grows tired of Samuel and they injury settlement him by mid-October. I like Moore as a better all around WR in case Shakir misses any time. But that is just a hunch. I know Shavers is the feel good story of camp. I would love to see a few deep shots called up for him when the defense is keying on Kincaid, Coleman, and Palmer. Give him a chance to produce. If not send him back to the PS and let Davis have a few chances.

On defense: For me it is Bosa. If he plays at a reasonably high level it should elevate the entire DL play. Rousseau should massively benefit from a credible rush threat opposite him, as will Bosa. Also, really looking forward to see a healthy dynamic duo of Milano and Bernard. While neither are the big bodied LB's I prefer, you can not disregard the playmakng abilities of both. Their instincts are off the charts. On offense, I'm going to cautiously say Coleman. I am expecting Kincaid to be much better. I said this earlier, but Coleman should try to be Anquan Boldin 2.0. Coleman is a little taller and not quite a s big. But they could have very similar games. If Coleman becomes a reliable target and chain mover with the occasional big play, it will open up everything deep and horizontal.

Anybody got a week 1 upset pick?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Buffalo03's topic in The Stadium Wall
Browns over Bengals Bengals start slow. Browns play Burrow tough. It is in Cleveland. If Flacco is going to have a good game it will probably be early in the year. They might lose the next 16 but they have a chance against the Bengals. -
Why throw out his best game? Shakir has played in 7 TOTAL games and has 4.7 catches per game, 48 yards per game, and 2 TD. In the same number of games, Davis had 11 fewer catches than Shakir, but he had 134 more yards and 4 more TDs Gabe had more TD in one game than Shakir's entire playoff career. If you are going to try and discredit a player at least put all the stats to see In case people are wondering, Jerry Hughes is unsigned

Second favorite player on the team! Hope cool heads prevail and he takes a slight pay cut with 100% guaranteed money so he can stay on the team the next few years.

If the Bills played more Big Nickel looks he would be perfect addition to the group of safeties they have now.

Before camp I was thinking 14 - 3, but the injuries have swapped some of my enthusiasm. Probably an overly emotional reaction but the injuries have made the defensive backfield a disaster in the making, and with questions at WR and PK its hard to stay so optimistic. I am going to say losses to Baltimore, Philadelphia, and KC all at home and then a weird loss at Atlanta. Lots of worry going into week 17 after a third home loss to the Eagles. But Allen puts on a show and they crush the Jets clinching home field. Division playoff game is a rematch with the Bengals and the AFC Championship is a McDermott career defining game against the Chargers. Win and he's coach for the foreseeable future. Lose at home to Harbaugh and they decide to part ways with McDermott. In short, 13-4 with 3 home losses which sucks for the fans but still gets them home field.

My bad. I meant late in the first round picks which is what he is holding onto -

Fair points.i would argue middle of the road gets you to the playoffs. Elite wins championships. Chiefs have had multiple elite pieces on offense and defense. We were close with Allen, Diggs, Miller, White, and Milano before the injuries. -

Lol.. isn't it ironic to see this thread just above the Jordan Poyer thread. One team getting a generational pass rusher and another gifting $400K to a washed up safety. -
Bills Working Out Kickers - Bass Not Healthy?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hopkins has not had great success. He's been up and down ever since he left Buffalo including last year. He just got beat out by a rookie. But he is an experienced veteran and Im surprised he is not being looked at -

We can't stop the run now. We play with the lead a lot. Two number 1s for the second best pass rusher in the league. I make that deal in a heart beat. Two generational players in Allen and Parsons - one on offense and one on defense. Beane refuses to go all in, instead hoarding late round draft picks so he can waste them next year F!!!!!! On the other side, bad trade for Dallas. -
I'm not a McDermott fan but you can see the theme for coach of the year. They are mostly reclamation project teams or teams that have not been even to a Championship game that are expected to compete.

Veteran salary for PS is $17,500 to $22,000 per week. So his salary is somewhere between $315-396K assuming 18 weeks.

Optimism: Allen will continue to evolve by distributing the ball and begin running less and less Cook, OL, and other backs will provide a consistent rushing attack Healthy Kincaid catches 80 balls Knox one of my favorites on the team makes 25 catches for 4 TDs and scores a TD in the SuperBowl Pessimism: Nah I'm not going there now. Bring on the Ravens!
