Bills will add at least 4 more Free Agents
Ethan in Cleveland replied to khlax3's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why not Jackson or Elam in the slot if Taron got hurt? They would be far better than Lewis. One of those two will be the #3 CB. Elam has good man to man skills so maybe he can drop inside if needed. -
The Cincy game & its affect on how we view the team

That is certainly plausible -
The Cincy game & its affect on how we view the team

And yet they were losing at home in the playoffs in the 3rd quarter against a 3rd string QB and RB. -
The Cincy game & its affect on how we view the team
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's far more than one game. Its Nathan Peterman It's defense choking at Houston It's 13 seconds Its watching the whole offense struggle for 2/3rd of last season It's watching a defensive minded coach waste the best QB in Bills history. It's going into a game against KC and now Cincinnati knowing we will be outcoached and Allen is our only hope. -
If they are truly committed to playing some double TE sets then yes, it would be a good year to get a #2 TE. The problem is we can't get Dorsey and Allen to get enough targets to Knox. TE, or WR, or both in the first two rounds would be fine with me. Honestly they truly could go BPA at every position except QB, S, RB, CB, and OLB in the first four rounds and I would be fine. They need DL, MLB, WR, TE, C/G, and OT in no particular order. They have never had a ProBowl TE since the merger of the AFL/NFL. It is the worst franchise position group in the history of the NFL.

Singletary is worth more to the Bills signing somewhere else so we get the Edmunds comp pick than he is bringing back. He is nothing special but he is not bad either. Doesn't have that many carries. He and Cook would be fine for another year but so would just about any other RB to pair with Cook. I'd rather see Fournette on a 2 yr deal. He is a big back and excellent in pass blocking. He was released do doesn't count against you in the comp pick formula. Would be a nice compliment and veteran presence for Cook/Hines. At the right price.

Bernard vs Dodson: Tale of the Tape
Ethan in Cleveland replied to TheyCallMeAndy's topic in The Stadium Wall
MLB plan at this point is just speculation. I will reserve judgment on McD and Beane after we see who else they bring in. I'm happy they did not commit to Edmunds long term. I hated the Bernard pick last year and still do. Could care less if they brought back Dodson. Honestly bringing back Poyer, the fact Hamlin probably will be back and was at least decent, and Benford possibly moving to safety allows them to draft a MLB in the first two rounds. I want Wagner but I'd be fine with a MLB in round 1 or 2 as long as the other pick is a WR with size. Then pick 3 and 4 can go OT and C/G. -
Draft - Positions of Need - Top Ranked
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Screw that, let's draft WPA at positions of least need!!!! -
Wagner would make this an ok FA group. Presumed upgrade at slot WR, upgrade at OG, avoided long term commitment to Edmunds, and get Poyer back for a run at a ring next year. Still need to lose a couple FA's or Beane will screw up the comp pick again. Singletary and one of the DL guys should get us to net negative. I will be honest though, it kind of feels like the Bills are stuck and everyone else is getting better around them. Feels like Green Bay with Rodgers for the last decade. Obviously the draft can change all that and one big move like a trade for Hopkins can make a massive difference.

Except we do know. Because if it was Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy like Hank Gathers he would have an implantable defibrillator and no chance to play. Barring any lung injury from the CPR, he will be cleared to play.

Long list of Bills free agents -- who will they keep?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to BillsDad51's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would bring back Crowder,Lawson, and Q. I would have chosen Klein over Dodson but I would not bring both back. They need to find out if Bernard can play or not. Klein probably can be picked up after first game of season on the cheap and his salary would not be fully guaranteed. The rest can go. We need multiple players to sign elsewhere to get the comp pick for Edmunds. -
Anyone just sit back and appreciate it?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
Many of us lived through 4 straight SB appearances. If you are happy with division titles chances are you are under 25 years old or you have given up hope. -
Beane again showing why he is a top GM
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sorry OP but this is standard stuff that just about every person on this board has been talking about for months. And as its stands right now I believe we have signed more FAs than we have lost so no comp pick for Edmunds. Green Bay got a first round pick for Adams and Bills may get nothing for Edmunds. As it looks now he could have tagged Edmunds and still had enough cap room to make these low to mid-level deals. Still a long way to go this offseason but so far nothing special. -
Pats still manipulating the cap !
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Desert Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Didn't Bills do the same thing with Eric Wood??? Its just manipulating the calendar and when you designate them pre or post June 1st. They just signed Juju away from KC -
Poyer is back! Resigning with Bills

Florida sucks in so many ways, and the Doplhins is not even in the top 50 -
Bobby Wagner - the solution to the Edmunds problem
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Oh please let this happen. He was cur so he does not even count in the comp formula calculator for Edmunds. He would be perfect for this team. Perfext leader to pait with Hyde and Poyer -
Bills reportedly interested in Jamaal Williams

How many games does any CB win? I've never even thought of it that way. -
Bills plan to tender Dane Jackson
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall
Good move. Still relatively cheap for a guy that can be a low end starter. I wonder if in camp they give him and Elam some reps at nickel. I dont think Johnson is going anywhere but if he went down for an extended length of time I would want to know if either of those guys can play inside. -
Dam that is bleak even for some of us contrarians. Let's take each listed spot RB - dime a dozen. They have Cook and Hines already. They may yet get a Williams but honestly a 3rd day RB in the draft would be fine. Cook already took the starting role down the stretch. Hell Singletary market may be so dry he might even be an option to come back. WR - no argument there. They need another WR to go with Diggs and Davis. I'm higher on Davis than most but not as high on Shakir as most. I've been a huge Knox for for years. He should be the true #2 target but that may take a new OC. G - already signed a Saffold replacement that should be better in pass protection. Move Bates to LG and the interior OL is already better than 2022 on paper. Draft a C/G in top 3 rounds OT - Again no argument. They need a young OT to develop. Brown is a huge question mark and Dawkins regressed last year. I see OT in the first two rounds for sure. Edge - Nope. Rousseau is good and Miller will be back. They probably dumpster dive for a 4th DE to compete with Basham and Epenesa for the last DL spot. MLB - Wagner is your answer. S - Hyde is coming back from an injury he should be fully ready to go. Hamlin may yet play again. Benford will move to safety despite what McD is saying now. He is just saying Benford at CB while Poyer coming back is still a possibility. Once/If Poyer is gone Benford will be at Safety in the OTA's. It looks like a lot - but really it is WR, OT, and C/G with the first three picks, maybe one splash FA and a few cheap free agents. This could change if they get a WR in FA or via trade but no matter where a WR comes from they will add someone to compete with Davis.

Yes and no. Like it or not a 3rd round pick is going to get more chances to make the roster than a third day pick or UDFA. It has no relevance on whether or not he will succeed but it does on the opportunities he will be given by the regime that drafted him so high. Who is to say if Bernard will develop or not? Sample size is too small, but so is he to play in the NFL. Ha see what I did there? Would be great if he can turn into a playmaker. Even if he gives Milano a few reps of rest during the game or plays the big-nickel or rare 4-3 OLB, he may be valuable. His role in the defense in OTA's and training camp will be an interesting watch.

Agreed. Guys will put up with BB's BS if they are winning. They won't if they are not even making the playoffs with noodle arm.
