  1. Bad play call there with your backup QB. Take the 3, still down only 3. BAD BAD BAD.
  2. Marino is gone He ain’t walking through that door A big win for Sean
  3. Well they certainly shouldn’t automatically lose possession.if the defense doesn’t recover it. The defense was getting gashed up to that point and should not be rewarded for playing poorly possession by simply forcing a fumble. The next logical thing to do is place the ball where the runner lost possession. In either scenario whether the defense forced or the offense itself caused the fumble.
  4. I’m talking about the scenario where the defense did nothing to cause the fumble, the offensive player simply futzed it through the end zone. In that scenario, the defense deserves no reward. But in your scenario, where the defender caused the fumble, then the offense should retain possession at the point where he offensive player fumbled.
  5. This is exact scenario where the rule is unfair and needs to be changed. The defense was getting gashed, doing nothing, the offensive player fu,blew the ball on his own and all of a sudden defense gets automatic possess on the 25??!! The defense did nothing to deserve the ball. Rule needs to be changed, in college too. If the defense forces the fumble, then the offense should get the ball back at the point where the runner lost the ball.
  6. Completely agree. Same dumb rule exists in college. If a team is driving and the defense is doing nothing, the defense shouldn’t be rewarded with the ball. The defense was playing poorly, not stopping a drive, and doing nothing to deserve the ball. An unlucky fumble mistake though the end zone should not award the crappy playing defense in any way.
  7. Well said. Forget both the playoffs and high draft position. All the bad teams will win another so our draft position won’t change but a few spots if that if we put up some more wins. Much rather see the team continue to show gradual improvement and development. It’s not momentum for next season, it’s HOPE that the team has some talent and is not as otherwise desperate.
  8. This thread is sad. So we got Shooter, Rick James, Bobbitt, Kemp and Whitesnake as our celebrity fans? Gross. Fitting, too.
  9. Good points. Rexy needs to be in the booth doing color. He’s a great Xs and Os guy and is flat out hilarious. He should be on their MNF crew, which is a debacle. Worst broadcast crew in any sport.
  10. Rex is a great color guy and awesome entertainment. He’s a gem for ESPN. This is a perfect example. There’s merit behind his Sexy rant.
  11. I agree with you. There’s no need to rush him back. We’re not contending for the playoffs, and the injury is a non-trivial one. Give him the extra time through the bye week to heal up. Peterman could have been worse last week. Barkley would be far worse than Peterman. No way.
  12. It sure matters for potential draft position. A loss wouldn’t hurt us...
  13. Yes, and ditching TT is one of the moves people can fairly consider as questionable. Dude, going 9-7 over the course of an entire season is not a “fluke”. I conceded that they made the playoffs with some luck. The point is that going 9-7 with an undertalented team and bad offense is enough to indicate that our coaches are decent, that they’re not the absolute worst, and that there is hope for the future: last season absolutely is evidence of that.
  14. They got us to the playoffs last season, with an undertalented team as a whole and poor offense! That’s tangible evidence that there is some hope. They coached us and otherwise got us to a winning record, and with some luck the playoffs. They’ve also done at least a decent job in drafting thus far to put in place some hopeful foundations on which a solid team can be built, putting aside personal judgments on not just Allen but also Edmunds and the rest of the lot. These things show me that there is at least some hope for the future. This next draft and offseason will be the tell alls as to whether the current leadership is the right one for us. Then we can judge in final.
  15. I’m right with you in wait and see mode. And I’m right with you about questioning some decisions and not feeling all that confident that they can right this ship. I’m trying to be as hopeful as possible.
  16. I agree that some of their decisions support having not much faith in approaching this offseason. But don’t you think the front office and coach need to be able to execute their plan before we can make final judgment? They’ve planned for this huge cap space, now they need to prove to us that they can use it wisely and as needed (and there are lots of needs).
  17. Thats why the OP said we have to see what happens this offseason and next year. They need their third year at least to be able to answer your question. If answered favorably, the fan base will have more confidence in them sticking around. If the answer to you question is No, then we all know the ax comes out. But as OP said, the current situation is part of their plan, which includes making the offseason moves necessary to address the glaring talent woes. They’ve set themselves up to do that, which deserves some degree of credit. Who will be available in free agency to address our talent deficiencies? Forget for the moment whether any free agents would want to come to Buffalo - which actual players are there who COULD feasibly come here to address our problems at OL, WR, etc.
  18. This one. Nathan Pickerman in charge of the worst offense of all time.
  19. What do you expected our record to be in two years? Asking honestly.
