  1. Allen got the rook killed. Does he apologize after the game
  2. It is not one or the other. If he makes poor decisions down in the red zone some are calling it out. Of course Allen is very good, but he can get over-confident and force things as most gifted athletes can. It's a balance thing.
  3. I want Allen to protect himself, but part of his game is drawing defenders to him near the goal line. Defenders have been hanging back playing the dump pass and it I don't think it is a bad thing for Allen to run a few to force those defenders into more of a conflict to come up to defend him. It will work to free up those receivers down there.
  4. Allen usually needs a run and hitting some guys to focus in and play his game
  5. Been a trend in the red zone that we have to change. Mentioned it last week and there were some pitchforks and torches from those that thought I was dissing Allen. They need to take better care of the ball down there and it starts with Allen
  6. That was one hell of a catch by Hopkins. Great players make great plays. Not sure you can defend that catch much better as Hopkins high pointed the catch and has both ends of the ball. He was in the best position to win that one. It happens.
  7. Nice call. I had given up on Beane finding a vet safety for depth, but Beane is the man. Not splashy, but helps with the unknowns with Poyer's elbow.
  8. He did some damage in spot duty, but was never going to steal that many touches from Taylor. He flashed in our playoff game against the Colts back when and probably caught the attention of Beane and Co. Would have liked to see some safety help/depth, but pickings were lean. Edit: Looks like I gave up on Beane a little early... he did end up getting some veteran safety depth.
  9. Just wait till we play Miami and actually use most of our starters.
  10. Assuming there are replacements out there that are better than those you have in house, AND that they are worth the asking price. Beane has built a pretty decent team, knee-jerk reactions are not part of that equation. I can't associate the job he has done building this roster and this organization that franchises across the NFL now hold up as the gold standard, with the words "epic fail" because why? Because he does not pull the trigger on a trade he does not like?
  11. That time of year again. Trade deadline threads are pretty normal around here as well as the sky is falling if we don't get player X. Beane has done a great job finding quality starters and depth players, hard to predict the injury bug when drawing up rosters.
  12. Allen mentioned in his presser that he was trying to dirt one of those picks, but it ended up getting scooped. I guess he just did not see the defender and that happens. GB does have some players in their secondary, and GB seemed to know when we were going to run it. Heck I think I can even tell when we are handing it off. We still did have some really good runs in this game, just not in the red zone. Cook started to cook too so that was good to see, and the kid can catch. Dorsey will need to go back to the lab, to figure out how teams are playing us down there.
  13. Don't fight it. Some folks want to revel in the moment of being 6-1 and why not? Some see sloppy play and turnovers that would have cost us against a better team and that is ok too. Some see each game as an isolated event and there are no trends or bad habits this team needs to correct to beat better teams in the league. I get a small measure of comfort knowing Allen and McDermott came away acknowledging the sloppy play and that there are things they need to fix. No need for folks to get their undees in a bunch if some of us happen to agree with them that it was ugly. I will be curious to see how they do in the red zone and with ball security the next few games to see if Dorsey can flip the right switches.
  14. Hard to reconcile that with the Bills leading the league in defensive DVOA. There have been some sloppy misses especially in the secondary. Remembering that keystone cops moment with the Steelers where they ran into and wiped themselves out and gave up the TD. Been playing a lot of rooks and depth guys back there so understandable that they can be caught out of position to make plays.
  15. The only time Aaron went deep I think was once Poyer was out. The drop-off in coverage was noticeable.
  16. Jones is special. I think last year he led the league for yards after contact... tough runner. Probably helped with Henry out, but still respectable.
  17. I am not too concerned. I do think guys got a bit undisciplined with their gaps thinking pass, but often Frazier had guys in position to make a play. What was uncharacteristic for this team was how many missed or broken tackles happened at or behind the LOS. For the most part this defense has been pretty solid tackling this year. Chalk it up to some decent skills by the GB runningbacks and a bit of rust from the bye.
  18. Green Bay ain't no great shakes this year and we coughed it up again... this team needs to tighten it up on "O" and take better care of the ball. Glad we are sitting where we are at, just want to see some improvement in that area going forward.
  19. I think a lot of our guys got caught up in the jawing... the GB secondary was definitely playing that game.
  20. This team is so schizophrenic. They can race down the field with huge plays and score, but when they are stopped close they just look out of sync. Dorsey needs to get to work on that. We need to fix our red zone offense and ball security. The Bills have had 12 turnovers in the red zone and have lost 6 of them. That puts us at 6th on the list tied with the Jags and Bears who both have a game on us. For comparison the Eagles currently lead the league with only 2 TOs in the red zone where they have lost 0 of them. There is a reason they have not been beaten and it starts with the fact that they are not beating themselves.
  21. Ugly second half on the offense. A lot to clean up and it starts with Allen making better decisions. Coming away with 3 points in the red zone beats forcing the ball into coverage. I am sure Allen knows this.
  22. It was good to see Dorsey bring in the extra TE and grind the clock. Was just telling folks there was sloppy play that took points off the board. ...and Allen has been off.
  23. Don't stop the guys drinking the cool aid. Some just don't realize turnovers in the red zone can knock this team out of a playoff. Need to clean some things up.
  24. Some of us want the Bills to go all the way this year. That ain't happening against good teams if Allen is throwing pick after pick in the red zone. It's not just this game, we are thinking about.
  25. Could have been a statement game. I will come away feeling we are too sloppy.
