  1. We get too damn cute in the red zone. Been an issue all year when we are that close. We can score from a distance, but have struggled, stalled, turned it over in the red zone. No reason not to run Cook to the outside if they are defending the middle runs like they are.
  2. Some blocking would help. C'mon guys
  3. Because Dorsey is making that mistake that ex QBs often make as coaches. Forget they can run the ball. Wonder if he corrects that this series and reels Allen back in a bit.
  4. Dorsey needs to show he can eat clock... too many passes right now.
  5. I think folks just realize there are some teams out there that can run and have good receivers. Sure, we are controlling this game, but poor tackling is poor tackling. Just want to see this team keep working to be great.
  6. A lot of missed tackles behind the LOS. Allowing too many yards after that first contact. Just need to wrap up something and wait for help. Too many diving trying to get that big hit. There'll be some good tape for Frazier and his staff.
  7. Yep. Der-t-Der move by Walker, totally unnecessary. Bad teams find ways to hurt themselves and lose.
  8. That was eerily the same move. Must have their QBs go down a slip and slide in practice and have to land a kick to the nuts at the end of it.
  9. Did not mind the long video at all. There were a lot of things Frazier had to do to cover up our deficiencies in the middle of our defensive front last few years. He can be so much more creative without having to gamble and disguise coverages because our DTs are bringing that hard nose work ethic and winning their battles up front. They are powerful dudes with leverage and skills too - that helps. It has that trickle down effect with DEs getting home, and our linebackers being effective and pressures. Edmunds, who has never been great getting off blocks can play down hill, and Milano who would try to take on OL blockers to fill gaps and was getting injured, now can shoot those gaps cleanly and stop plays in the backfield. Kudos to our big boys up front on the "D".
  10. It's a damn shame when NE gets owned on prime time. Even better when it is by the Bears who came in with a 2-4 record 😂 I just can't get enough of the Patriots sucking - that song "It feels like the first time" keeps running through my head... I am going to sleep well tonight.
  11. So much invested in that pick. The money...then the parade of injuries.
  12. With a decent QB that team would be making some noise. There are windows of opportunity for teams when they can peak or just do their best while retooling. Feels like the Colts window is closing this season.
  13. Amazingly you don't HAVE to read it. I seem to recall you had quite a lot to say on that topic yourself.
  14. It is a lot different thinking about being THAT team to beat. "Don't blink" is so true. Top teams want to get that leg up on seeding and looking for any edge ala KC. Bottom tier and under-performing teams will see the Bills as that one game that can salvage their reputation. They will take chances and risks because they have less to lose. Up and coming teams with new found success this season will be looking for that validation that they have turned the corner and belong in the same conversation. Basically, every team is gunning for our Bills and they are going to get their best shot each game. The price of being on top. Our best vs your best and let's see who earns the victory.
  15. Allen played in Denver's back yard too at Wyoming. Not that far to scout. Money well spent and a pretty salty fan base at this point. images (6).mp4
  16. Agree. There is a lot of pride there, but like you I just don't see the same level of receiver talent or RB talent that our defense has had to overcome this season. Their OL has been Swiss cheese too with Rogers getting smacked around a lot. He is good at rolling out and putting it on the money, but pressure is the great leveler and Tre White should have his coming out party.
  17. Gap, Zone, or Man.... there is enough ambiguity around terminology. My personal take has been that zone favors bigger mauling type OL who can move defenders with leverage, and also works best with power backs who have that ability to plant and powerfully accelerate through a cut back lane. Zone assignments are easier to teach with very general gap concepts - inside zone attacking A gap north/south blocking with double teams, mid zone C gap (stretch), and outside zone (toss sweeps, jet sweeps, etc.) to attack perimeter. Whether inside, mid, or outside they provide flexible options for the runningback to take. Even with inside the RB has the option to bang it inside, outside, or bend it back away from the gap. Gap favors mobile OL who are good at pulling, angles, assignments, and setting up blocks on the move in space (power, counters, and traps) to create the hole for the back. There are very specific assignments. Running backs who are patient with blocks and more shifty making the first man miss tend to have more success with this. I think the Bills have a mixed bag of OL talent, but definitely have OL players who can pull and block in space. That probably lends itself to gap blocking plays leveraging our OL players who are a bit lighter, have above average mobility, are experienced, and excel at setting up blocks in space. We lack that plant & cut power back that makes zone plays more productive. Singletary has done better making the single cut, hitting the cutback lane, and taking what is there, but I would not say that is his forte. Serviceable comes to mind, but I don't think defenses fear a home run threat. All our OL have been doing very well at pass pro, and Allen is dangerous and effective getting rid of the ball much faster on average this season. It is natural that this offense leans on what it does well. For now it just needs to be effective enough to take some if the heat off Allen and force defenses to account for it.
  18. Agreed. It was just a bad game. I was thinking he missed that pitch from Allen because it was not expected. After watching the Shakir breakdown of plays and how he was blocking in front of McKenzie on that pitch, it was clear that the play was going to McKenzie. I just had not seen the right angles. ...and that pass in the end zone, he leaves his feet and dives forward for no apparent reason when if he just kept his balance, the ball was very catchable. It happens. If he is a competitor, he comes back with a redemption type game.
  19. Not to rehash the McKenzie drop as it has been beaten to death, but from those different angles with the blocking scheme involving Shakir, I changed my mind from it being Josh just creating something on the fly. Looked like a designed play to McKenzie all the way and he just was not looking for it. Nice job by the rook blocking though.
  20. I got your point fine... and basically agreed. My response was that there is too much coverage of the negative things that we miss hearing about the small acts of kindness.
  21. Being in the spot light has to be hard. I would not wish for that attention myself. There will come a time when the media will just be salivating for Allen to take a misstep. If that time comes, my hope is that the Bills Mafia will remember he is only human, and in the grand scale of being a member of our fallible ranks.... one of the better ones.
  22. The kind of world where a receiver making millions knocking a camera guy out of his way and then he sues gets more press. Bad news gets the clicks and the ad revenue so we tend to be fed all the world's horrors rendered to a toxic meal for our consumption. There are little acts of kindness all around us. When I get tired of it I turn to the local news in my small town. A porta potty washed ashore and a bunch of homeless folks trashed city hall because the door code was "1234".
  23. Oh, but the shame of being that 0-5 team.... But at least one fan base would celebrate and sleep better.
  24. Probably more of a sign of both Allen throwing more quickly and throwing from the pocket. Earlier in his career Allen held the ball longer, almost always took off or rolled away from the pocket as he often had protection breakdowns. Finding throwing lanes was not an issue when rolling away from traffic. Not super concerned, as Allen has shown he adapts and works on anything he thinks will improve his game. He will adjust to throwing from different arm angles around defenders or will find the lanes to avoid those hands when in the pocket.
  25. I expected more from Tim as well, but he has not been 100%. He's been playing with nagging injury like Phillips and Oliver. I think they are all quality impact players when healthy. The scary thing for this already very good defense is that they are getting healthier and have a bye week... Welcome back Tre too. DaQuan has been playing outstanding.
