  1. I was listening to a sports commentary where the guy mentioned Allen was saying back then that he was calling out protections that did not exist and yelling things like, "block left". His OL was looking back at him like "whaaa?" It has been a roller coaster, Bills Mafia has had his back, and he has indeed come a long way.
  2. We focus a lot on how the ends have played in these games rushing the passer - and they have been great, BUT we should give some props to the interior DL too. They are best when Phillips is 100% and the rotation is humming, but they have done so much better against the run, being gap disciplined, and keeping our linebackers and safeties clean. Makes a world of difference when Frazier does not have to crowd the line with 5 or more defenders because out interior DL players are getting blown off the ball and washed downfield. We have been stout against the run. And teams have tried to go that route to force us out of our pass coverage looks. Not up in here! Great job guys.
  3. McKenzie can be a boom or bust kind of player and he needs to work on more consistency. His speed and the fact he was money for us against the Pats when we needed him to step up last year does go a ways with me. Have been hoping that more time featured in the offense would lead to that consistency, as I like to see our players succeed. Don't blame him for not being ready for what was likely an improvisational shovel pass from Allen, but he was off in his timing and routes with some drops in other area of the game and has had a few brain farts this year. I am willing to chalk this last game up to just being back a bit too early from his concussion protocol and not being in sync with Allen and the offense. But with Shakir waiting in the wings, the hook will be faster if he keeps struggling.
  4. I recall KC had that toss sweep that Milano blew up... looked like he was shot out of a cannon. Was thinking they sealed the edge and had a good wall of blockers, then bam! Milano had a hell of a game.
  5. A lot of those comments were a bit salty. It is true that the pass pro held up well - good job OL, but KC had abandoned sending a 5th rusher to put more men in coverage as Allen was burning their blitz. And that was still an amazing throw in a tight window. I have heard enough former QBs comment on it to know it was likely not a pedestrian feat.
  6. This. He had to be there as an option. Whether he expected it or not is another question. Josh will often keep those, but with the defense keying on him, McKenzie had the better angle to the pylon. I actually like those option play designs as Allen gets so much attention, but clearly the execution needs some practice. Mahomes does those option plays with shovel passes quite a lot near the goal line too.
  7. McKenzie was a big part of the game plan and just was not on the same page as Allen. The option shovel pass is not incredibly new trickery, but McKenzie has to be upfield more and ready for it. He was neither, and that set the wrong tone. Allan was playing a bit hyped early too, but settled down. Also think that Allen has not seen a lot of blitz packages for a while with so many teams playing us with cover 2. Took a while to adjust and the pressure was throwing off the timing.
  8. Steady exodus of talent surrounding Rogers and a lack of new talent rising up to replace the losses. Aaron seems like a QB that has kind of lost a locker room, much like coaches do, but who knows? He has never been the most warm QB out there. He also seems distracted and like he is just going through the motions. His protection breaks down quite a bit and he cannot find any receivers gaining separation so holds the ball quite a bit longer so is getting the snot beat out of him. They lack that threat of a running game or have just abandoned it so it is not there to take some of the pressure off him either. Defense has been suspect for a while... there is a lot wrong with this team and it starts with the leadership acquiring and keeping the right talent, sending all the wrong signals to their QB, and not really showing a clear vision. I just don't see them pulling out of this tailspin. Even if they did the NFC Central is no where near the level of team play you are seeing from NFC East this year... I used to look at GB and wonder how do they keep hitting on all these great receivers, but they have not had that same level of success from their personnel department the past few years. Playing shoddy in a shoddy division....
  9. The look when they panned to Mahomes' face when Allen leaped over that defender was not a, "Way to go bro." look. These guys both have that anything you can do I can do better thing going on.
  10. Been that way all year with DL players getting their jerseys ripped off dragging OL players. With the spat of injured and decapitated QBs and how much fans want to see offense, it seems they are turning a blind eye to most of those.
  11. What about the blatant trip on Allen. The game may not have come down to the wire if that drive had stayed alive. Worked out, but that was horrible.
  12. True. But why not focus on him in the red zone? You have to take Mahomes' favorite target away to force him to hold it longer. Was the strangest way to play that TE who is at the top of his game and deadly in the red zone.
  13. Taron is not a world beater in coverage, but he draws the short straw as teams don't generally try to test us deep when both our safeties are on patrol. He and Elam tend to give up a few yards underneath trailing in coverage, but both are pretty physical. KC was getting zilch out of their run game. Thought the refs were horrible throwing DPIs flags on jams as it was a good plan to be physical and jam their receivers off the line and disrupt timing. Elam took a few bad angles early, but love his compete. He will only get better.
  14. For Kelce you can't let him release cleanly off the line because he reads zone like a smaller slot receiver and Mahomes and he have the timing on those zone windows down too well. One guy to jam him good, but another that stays in coverage as he will just knock the jammer left and get two step right on his release. No perfect answer, but we did not completely ignore him like Oakland did apparently.
  15. Not that concerned with NE as Josh is their bogeyman and they have looked beatable. You can bet the Bellychecks saw Spags have some success bringing pressure from the edges and will do some zone blitz as he likes to play cover 0 any way. Good for Allen to see some pressure packages again as he has mostly only been seeing zone shell looks for a while. The Jets have invested a ton of talent on that defense and it is starting to come together for them, especially that DL. Not as intimidated by their offense.
  16. Seriously? They are both phenomenal QBs with some amazing skills that are a bit different. I have never seen a QB that can dance around defenders like Mahomes and none who can truck them and throw darts downfield like Allen. Let's just enjoy that we get to see these two guys compete.
  17. You can tell that Knox is not at 100%, but still better than the guys behind him on the depth chart.
  18. Frazier had to be salty after last year. This game will help wash away some of that stink.
  19. Shut it Tony with the KC getting healthy at DB. Seems to forget we have an all pro in Tre that was not on the field.
  20. YES..... YES... TARON REDEPTION.
  21. Frazier. You have a chance at redemption. Don't blow it!
  22. Where was the encrouchment... Timed my ***
  23. Getting into wide right territory.... in this game at least.
