  1. I haven't seen much from Sweeney, but maybe he is a very slow developer. Quessenberry, stepped up with a bum ankle with about 5 lbs of tape on it because Dawkins couldn't go. He's not going to bump anyone off the depth chart, but I'll give him a pass.
  2. One of the more consistent players on a bad Jets team. Gave us fits and I thought was a great replacement for Beasley. Was a another loss to injury this year that stung. Definitely impacted the offense and our ability to attack zones in front of the sticks when he went down. Reading zone and running the right route to find the soft spots is not quite McKenzie's forte and Shakir is still green.
  3. Phillips. His heart is bigger than his brain. He has a history of hammy issues and I always cringe when seeing him running 30 yards downfield. We are a better defense with him in the rotation. Hope he rests up and heals, but yeah that chase was funny.
  4. My ticker needed a boring win. I thought the big one was coming when I was watching the game against MN. Shush that business. The fickle football gods are smiling on our team and helping FGs doink off the crossbars don't jinx it.
  5. Not much any QB can do in those situations when a DE starter beats your gimpy backup LT on his blind side. We should thank them because after that the butterfly kicked Dorsey in the head and he went run heavy which limited that mismatch exposure. That plan worked better too wearing down NE's defense so ours were fresh and ready to feast on their offense and bleeding the clock the whole way.
  6. I just love it when Patriot fans rant about how their team sucks. I keep listening to this over and over, not sure when I am going to get tired of it today. It's a great Friday folks.
  7. He was a foot away from adding another TD last night. Allen played a good game. In control, and scrambling when he needed to.
  8. Can't argue with ya Dave.... Baston sacks cayk Enjoy the AFC East basement NE.
  9. I mean it worked but it was an odd play from the get-go. Allen escapes well before protection broke down, but did not have a lot of open routes to pick from. They ran 3 receivers into the same middle area which meant they were all effectively surrounded and negated by 5 defenders. They ran a rub to free Knox, but that route is too shallow, rounds off at the 7 yrd line, and with a defender that has the angle to stop it short of the goal line and its 3rd and goal. They have Hines in the backfield, but kept him in to block rather than chip and release as an outlet option or receiving option in the backside flat to draw a defender or maybe beat that 1:1 to the pylon. Ended up needing a super Allen play and he pulled it off.
  10. I did not see him so I was wondering... they could just have a cap on his snap count.
  11. Nice win all around. Nice to see Tre out there again... will be interesting to see how the knee held up with more live game reps. Smart game plan with Dawkins out on the Left and Quest filling in with a bum ankle, and Brown has been suspect on the right against speed rushers like Judon. We were ripe for Allen to get the snot beat out of himself back there holding the ball too long trying to find the fly route open deep in a crowd of DBs and safeties, or turning the ball over getting blindsided. Instead we ran the ball, and ran the ball, and ran some more... threw in a quick pass or two and did it again. They did that against a top 10 rush defense that knew we were doing it based on the heavy personnel we trotted out. We are not a Titans run first team, but we needed that this game and we need to bring that more - especially when it is working and teams insist on leaving safeties deep. If we get Dawkins back healthy we can take more shots, but still need to have patience and be able to strike home when teams gamble with single coverage.
  12. We put NE in a sleeper hold and never let up....
  13. Gabe "hands" Davis... comes through.
  14. Hamlin was trying to put a shoulder on the ball and the receiver tucked into it. Was a hard hit though and I get why they have to call those, but I don't think Hamlin is a dirty player. He does bring the heat though.
  15. He has had a good game so far - hope I don't jinx that. Just steady as it goes.
  16. Jones running from here to Providence.... too funny. We must have dropped a lot of DL players into zones because we only had one large man chasing him. I feel like here is that bend and give up a TD defense that Frazier does when we have a lead.
  17. Oh no Dane Jackson.... even the announcers know you throw at him
  18. Yep. Morse, Bates, and Saffold have had good games. This line has not done terribly running the ball... just been a penchant for Dorsey to lose patience with it. When your defense is playing well and the OL pass pro is suspect - why wouldn't we lean on that.
  19. Need to keep running the ball. Both Cook and Singletary have had success and no reason to get impatient with how the defense is playing
  20. Miss Dawkins. Has not been his best year, but he is the best we have.
  21. I think maybe Cosell was more alluding to elite talent. Allen and Diggs can win most individual matchups against the best in the league, but others need to win their matchups via scheme and creating mismatches. We have an offense right now that leans a bit too much on Allen and Diggs to carry it. I think his point is Dorsey probably needs to figure out how to spread that around a bit better for sustainable success.
  22. I certainly think we could better scheme and involve more of our playmakers not named Diggs, but defenses have adapted better to contain offenses with QBs like ours. It is the nature of the game. When one team does well frustrating an offense other teams copy that and add their own wrinkles. Sharp had an article that kind of touched on that though he focused on the Chiefs and other offenses and did not include Allen and our offense in the mix which was odd. https://www.sharpfootballanalysis.com/analysis/defense-blitz-coverage-staley-fangio-2022-sharp-football-preview/
  23. They almost always had a great OL. That is key to offensive consistency and a good QB looking great and a great QB looking GOAT. https://www.nfl.com/news/longtime-pats-ol-coach-dante-scarnecchia-to-retire-0ap3000001099550
  24. As long as we don't hear, "$hit, look out Josh!" when he us supposed to chip Judon I am good with whatever.
